Rumor- Bills will entertain trade offers for Watkins?
Bill_with_it replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats a great question. Im not a coach, however, I cant imagine the trust and confidence lost in a player when its clear they are sandbagging it. These coaches see players everyday and know what theybare capable of. That gif that Inposted of gilmore giving up when he clearly could have stopped hogan was remarkable tell of Gilmores dedication to the team, pride in the team, and care for the final score. Me personally I wouldnt be able to ever trust a player that ever did exactly what Gimlore did in hat GIF ever again. -

You are trying to hard. There is a picture of him playing basketball at an la fitness gym. La fitness gyms are all over the good USA. But he was unable to perform a glorified stretching routine the first go at it and perform in the wr drills to get some chemistry. But basketball is fine? We will see. Ill give him the benefit of the doubt. Ill let this season playout before I say hes a bust OR DECLARE HIM ELITE. Because he right now is neither. -

Yeah no need at all for him to mesh with his teamates in a glorfied stretching setting, he can do that on a basketball court right? -

[closed]I want the Bills to stop building other teams

Being in cap hell its hard to keep the players you want. Some players will still be cut lose even when the cap is managed correctly. Its they way of the NFL. -

I do too. Having a player potentially holding the cap hostage, or giving it all only when they want to isn't conducive to facing adversity in a game and coming back from it. I want players that are 100% dedicated to the success of this team. -

Kirby Im going to have to respectfully disagree. I understand that playershave off games sometimes, but Gilmore gave up a number of times last year. https://mobile.twitter.com/Cover1Bills/status/793204942886559748?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-36455033692718921041.ampproject.net%2F1495054386926%2Fframe.html That isnt a competitive spirit driven by ego to succeed. Thats a player not giving his 100% for the team and I dont want players like that on my favorite team. -

Kirby do you really think that Gilmore and Z Brown were giving it there all last year? How about Mario his last year? How about Mccoy his first year here? (Mccoy even hinted that he rededicated himself to Buffalo after his first year) -

More like wrong customer recieved no money back except for a shirt Bills received no other players on the sunken cost. I have learned thst quite a few people here font under stsnd basic english words along to include prefixes and suffixes. -
What type of coaching do you want to see this year?
Bill_with_it replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hold his players accountable, teach them with a passion that instills them wanting to learn, teach them that not a single one of them is more important than the team, and lead the franchise to the playoffs and beyond(maybe this year or future). -
Your smart ass comments without reading what I was responding to, will always be called out. Had you read the post, I was stating an opinion of why the Bills might want to trade Watkins other than trading Watkins because Taylor because the Bills dont believe in him.I simply posted a number of opinionated things thst could be. Nothing was stated as fact. If you had read that instead of fiddling with see spot run you might have figured that out.

Who else is all in on this new way of doing things?
Bill_with_it replied to KellyToughII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I share hope and here is why. What they were doing the last 17 years with many different attempts have not worked. So this is a clean sweep. Give this group enough time to: set a standard, set a foundation. Develop a true team first chemistry and see what we have. -
Shaw go back and read the post that you quoted was in reference to. FWIW if you only have Watkins truly healthy for 8 games a year, Its a detriment to the team offense. If you design an offense to where your number one receiver is to get the load of targets based on his elite abilities, then said player misses 8 games or is unhealthy long term then its time to move on. IM NOT SAYING SAMMY WONT BE ABLE TO PLAY 16 OR THAT SAMMY WONT BE ABLE TO PROVE HIMSELF THIS YEAR. What I am saying is echoing Mcermotts tenants availability and durability. If Sammy's long term outlook projects to not being available and durable consistently evey season regardless of his epic talents, I highly doubt the Bills pay the money that hes going to be looking for.

Your wit doesnt change how ridiculous that post was. Let me explain it to you a different way. 1. Bills didnt have to keep Taylor. 2. Bills could have saved the money and rolled with Cardale. 3. Bills didnt do any of that. 4. If your theory was true a) Tyrod wouldnt be on the team, b) we would have more cap space, c) there would be about 300-400 less pages of inconsequential Taylor talk in this board. 5. Do you see why your theory hilds no water? Its borderline delusional.

I already have in the appropriate Watkins thread. But since you ask ill provide some reasons that if true might be why Watkins might be traded: -Medical prognosis of the health of the foot is not good. -Medical prognosis of the ability of the foot is not good. -Watkins agent told the Bills he doesnt want to be with the Bills anymore after this season. -Watkins agent wants more for a new contract than the Bills are willing to play for. -Watkins isnstill hurt and will miss more time this season than the Bills are a) willing to wait on, b) dont want to design an offense around a player that will miss games and whos abilities on the team arent replicated by anyone else, c) want to get a player on the team that can play 16!games. Those are just a few, if you believe they are trading away Watkins as a slight of Taylor or as tell tale sign they dont believe in Taylor I should probably stop communicating with you now though because thats a truly asinine opinion. One to which you are welcome to express and enjoy.

I dont know... Maybe not trying to say rhat the teams trading Watkins because they dont believe in Taylor. That seems like a stretch even gor the fervent non pro Taylor posters. Theres likey quite a few reasons that if the Bills trade Watkins are reasons, not the wierd anti Taylor middle schoolish notion you just provided.

Rumor- Bills will entertain trade offers for Watkins?
Bill_with_it replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whats disturbing and borderline ignorant is this post. Here is why: Do you know the medical condition of Watkins foot? Do you know the medical outlook for Watkins foot? Do you know the amount of money Watkins agent is likely starting to talk to the FO to retain Watkins service? Do you know what is being offered for a trade for Watkins? Do you know what Watkins stance is on staying with the team? Do you know Watkins attitude towards doing what hes asked to do in this offense? Those are just a few questions that you could possibly have zero insight about which might lead to a trade that you call ignorant without fully understanding the situation around Watkins to include all the relevant factor vice just saying Watkins is elite when that is arguable.... -

Bill_with_it replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kirby when you design the offense around that elite talent then that elite talent misses alot of the season, the whole offense takes a step back and loses abit of cohesion because the offense has to change because your elite talent that isnt on the field cant be replicated by anyone else on your offense. It makes no difference at all if sammy has 6 200 yd games if thats all he can participate in. Im all for keeping him if he shows he can play (not just go through the motions/be a decoy) through 16 games and be a significant contributor. If he cant its better to get something out of him than letting him escape buffalo without getting anything other than a 3d round comp pick. If the teams medical staff has concerns then I share those as well. If the teams management believes that Sammy is going to ask more than he is worthy of to keep him in buffalo if he shows hes healthy then its time to let go. Lets get smarter with the cap and not put ourselves back into the same trouble the recent regime put us into. -

I think this post will get lost or conveniently overlooked by the hyper aggressive. Just like to add something:Assets don't always gain value with time and some lose value. Just because three draft picks were spent to acquire the services of Watkins doesnt mean today at this point in time the young man is worth three draft picks, or the value his agent will be looking for.
