  1. Not at all. Beane did his job, looked into bringing a very talented guy here. Didn't work out, probably because Rosenhaus was involved. So you move on.
  2. I think he'll probably be a good player. But I think Taylor has more upside.
  3. I watched the entire game. I wasn't impressed. But then again the entire Bama line got beat.
  4. Concerned about Jonah after the NCAA championship game. He got manhandled by the Clemson front.
  5. Having a solid vet C would be great for Allen. Can set protections, line calls, etc. But they are not going to spend wildly and lock up all their cap space. They want to be sure they keep young guys like Tre and Milano and Dawkins and so on. So they know they'll need space for extensions. I see a C and RT, and a TE. Other than those it will be interesting.
  6. I don't see us having a need at that position.
  7. This is what happens in free agency. Guys get overinflated contracts. I think Beane may go that route for a position and/or guy they really think fits a need and will be around for a while (like the RT Williams), but overall I see him staying out of insane bidding wars and instead using money judiciously.
  8. Stop. There were a ton of people who thought Moulds was a bust, and they looked like idiots once he got his feet under him. Jones and Allen started to show some good work together in the latter part of the season. It would be dumb to give up on him right now.
  9. With the mentality shown in this thread, it may be worth pointing out the group would have also given up on Eric Moulds.
  10. We thought he was a jerk to put it mildly
  11. Good signing. Good rotational player.
  12. This is just insanity. Back in the day, teams recognized that Qbs needed a few years to grow into the position, to mature in their ability to read defenses, etc. Not only did players need this, but coaches as well. And now you see this: you have a team that gives up on a HC and a QB after one year, only to go after a new HC that has minimal (any??) NFL coaching experience, who is being give the keys to the kingdom, and who apparently thinks the answer at QB is a kid that is undersized and a big question mark as to how he'll fit in the league. Meanwhile you have a guy in Rosen that this time last year was the one who was most pro ready by many accounts, played on a team that had little to offer to help him, and somehow he gets thrown to the trash heap. No wonder the Cards struggle. No wonder the teams that seem to do the best year in and year out are the ones with stability in the front office and coaching staffs.
  13. Yes I've read your replies, which all say the same thing basically, so why you keep repeating yourself is confusing. But I digress. Jones was starting to establish continuity with Allen the latter part of the season, WRs commonly take a season or two to blossom, and even if a guy like Duke works out it means Jones goes into the slot where he belongs. You assume they draft a WR high; I assume Beane is pretty smart and knows he has to beef up the O line plus he knows the real talent in round 1 is on the defensive side of the ball.
  14. Jones starts the season opener and catches a TD pass.
  15. Insanity. Carr is a good QB.
  16. In the era of things like the Internet, cell phones, drive through liquor stores, etc, etc where we expect anything we want to be at our fingertips right now, I suppose it's to be expected that a team would draft a QB top ten one year and give up on himafter one season. Rosen will be fine I think with time. But why not replace him with a midget QB that could run towards MLB whenever he wants?
  17. You are the one who misquoted Joe B, and when shown that you ignore it because it doesn't fit your negative agenda. And I am so tired of your crap about people lowering the bar. It's crap, pure unadulterated crap. What did I say just this morning? That Beane and McD have the picks they want, the cap space they want, the QB and MLB they wanted, and now it is up to them. And if they don't succeed they'll be looking for jobs, AS IT SHOULD BE. I capitalize not to yell but provide emphasis, because you yet again apparently show a predilection to ignoring those things that don't fit your agenda. Two year ago they were in the playoffs, last year they got tools they felt they needed and dumped guys for cap space. That was their plan, they executed it, and now the pressure is on to continue executing their plan. That is not a free pass, that is not lowering the bar. That is how it is, not only with the Bills but pretty much any other professional sports enterprise you care to name. Your stuff is nonsense. All here know these guys have to succeed or they won't have jobs down the line. And I suspect no one knows that more than Beane and McDermott.
