  1. from everything i've read, these are the steps. i have 6 gallons of peanut oil, so i should be good there. the pot has a maximum/minimum fill line, so i'm good there too. my rub is going to be salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a random cajun spice i found.
  2. this was my wife's concern as well. i don't think i'll have the time to get my act in order for a brine, so i'll try the rub this year, and get into the brining next year. if this becomes a regular thing, i could definitely see this as an option.
  3. ok. i'm keeping it off the stone. i was going back and forth with that. someone told me since it's peanut oil, you can just throw out in the lawn. it may be an issue for deer, fox, coyotes, etc., which we have. i'm also super paranoid about my dog finding it, and rolling in it. he likes to do that with deer *****, so i think he would love the oil.
  4. I like to think of myself as a 4.
  5. this is where i'm at. there's going to be losses, and there's going to be meltdowns over them. i get it. i just want this team in the post season, then i'll worry about it from there. right now i'm just enjoying the ride to the playoffs.
  6. it has a specific line where you can max fill it to, so i should be good there. i may have to do it in the yard. we just had our back done this year with a large stone are and a fire place. i was going to do it there, turn on the fire, have a drink and relax, but the mess is freaking me out. i was thinking i may throw a tarp down to stop the splatter, but it might just be easier to do it in the lawn.
  7. i've gone in on thanksgiving more than any other holiday by far. one year i was there for so long i missed dinner. last year i came in on thanksgiving morning because a guy was so swollen his eye was shut. i have bad luck on that day.
  8. of my crispy corpse?
  9. my wife has the most to gain if this happens. if you don't see me on here again, look in her direction. deep down inside, this is really what i'd like to do. the fear of bodily harm and damage to my property is hold me back...a bit.
  10. i plan on doing this without my shirt on. someone did suggest this. it pumps out heat, but someone made it sound like the wind will stop the oil from getting to 350. good to know it shouldn't be much of an issue. as of now 1 have 6 gallons of peanut oil. from what i've read that should be enough, but i haven't had time to check displacement with the turkey. already filled up a second propane tank to have on standby.
  11. for the first time this year i'll be deep frying a turkey. i'm not going to get too elaborate...just a rub on it and into the fryer it goes. i'm just looking for what not to do. i definitely know to make sure the turkey isn't frozen, and to dry it off as much as possible, but anything else i should look out for? i'm also looking for any suggestions concerning the wind. apparently it could be windy, and someone said it will throw off the cooking temp. i won't fry it in the garage, so has anyone had success blocking the wind somehow? the youtube vids got be bored so i figured i'd ask the experts.
  12. i'm not sure why people have that attitude either. this team needs to get to a point where they can be considered regulars for the playoffs. is just getting there enough? no, but i'm with you in the sense that it's a step in the right direction. you can't win a playoff game if you're not there. even for this team to squeak out 10 wins is a success. i know some don't think so, but you play who is on your schedule. the bills are typically one of the teams at the bottom looking up. to not be this year is a good thing. again, should it be considered an end product? not at all, but these are all good things no matter how anyone wants to spin it.
  13. sexy. that's how if feel every morning when i wake up. you sure about that?
  14. he refuses to respond when he's actually asked to explain himself which is ironic considering he's quick to let us know that most of the board is not capable of being reasonable.
  15. i was pumped when the schedule first came out, but in the end it's going to make it a chore to watch the game. thanksgiving is a big production at our place, as we usually have 40 people plus. we're also the last stop for everyone, so there's no way we're going to eat before 5. my wife even offered to set up a separate table in our family room for those who want to watch and eat it, but i have a feeling we'll watch as much as we can, pause the game, and go back to it after the 30 mins of fevered eating.
  16. Combining the coach’s last name and the word douche!!!!!! You my friend are some kind of wizard!
  17. i assume he spends a good majority of his time covered in cheeto dust.
  18. it looked like he was trolling the bills board. after all, what chief fan would go to a broncos board to ask that question of a bills qb? i get it, but that's the definition of having far too much time on your hands.
  19. oh my! denver with their 3 wins is at 16.
  20. didn't zerovolt bring this up a while ago? he claimed he went to their message board and brought up the same question, (which is strange) and was laughed at.
  21. i never misplace my blow. ever.
