  1. Agree. Especially the defensive backfield (even more so now they Kevon Seymour is missing time with some type of foot injury). Can't afford to lose any CB or S to injury. Maybe they'll luck out and some players will really step up in preseason (I can hope right?). I am fully expecting that the Bills will look to add some depth (at a few positions, hopefully) after cuts to 53. I wonder if cutting rosters directly to 53 will, help the Bills out? There will be a lot more players available at the same time. Might give Buffalo a chance to snag a decent player or two.
  2. Glad to see you getting on board with the Beane hire. I've been impressed with him so far. I agree. He does seem to be very well respected around the NFL, by both players and execs. I LOVE the front office staff he put together. He didn't let his ego get in the way of hiring the best people he could get. I'm not sure how many other GM's would hire a pro personnel director that had just interviewed for the same GM job as he did. To me that showed that Beane really wants to succeed and that he was also willing to put the best interest of the Bills first. Time will tell, but I really do have high hopes that Pegula got it right this time, with both the Bills and Sabres, actually.
  3. I think Vic Carucci mis-heard. Brandon Beane's exact words were - "we knew where the money needed to be and we had agreed on that". So I'm not sure where he gets that they has to up their offer.
  4. If he previously backed out of a 1 year deal with the Bills, and it took him this long to sign for just a year, I don't see any circumstance where Boldin agree to a team option on his deal, especially being in the very twilight of his career. A team option on the deal would have been nice, I agree. But I just don't see any way Boldin signed on for that (unless the team option was for a completely ridiculous salary that he just couldn't refuse, but then that likely makes it harder for the Bills to sign him again next year (IMO) if he does well).
  5. Not impressed with Beane so far. He couldn't even sign Boldin. No excuse for that. Right guys? lol (j/k - but this is why it's silly to get so worked up when a FA doesn't immediately sign before training camp has even started). Love this signing! Boosts the WR corps big time IMO. Glad a Boldin decided to sign here.
  6. Boldin will be 37yrs old in 2 months. Plus, they report r that he backed out of a deal with the Bills last week. Maybe it was him who didn't want a multi year deal. A 1 year deal seems right in this scenario. If things go well for him here and he performs, it should be a lot easier to convnice him to sign on for another year. But if things don't go well or his performance starts to quickly decline at 37yrs old the Bills are not locked in for longer.
  7. https://streamable.com/s/qyyzy/efxyqy 4 minute highlight reel of Mittelstadt from WJr's. This kid's ceiling is sky high.
  8. I seen that Mittelstadt led the whole tournament in points. I also read some saying that they thought he was the best player in the tournament. Sounds like a great showing for CM... SabresFanatics @SabresFanatics Mittelstadt and USA beat Canada 7-5 and go underfeated in the #WJSS. Mittelstadt lead the tournament with 9 points in 5 games And one more highlight - https://mobile.twitter.com/SabresFanatics/status/893995204444909568/video/1
  9. I've seen a number of articles, videos and talk on WGR where it was reported he did well at camp too. It sounds like he's been up and down, at worst. That's a long ways from "real bad"... but we're all aware of the OP's agenda, so... Here's just a couple examples - http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2017/07/buffalo_bills_training_camp_day_17_observations_from_first_padded_practice.html Tyrod Taylor stats 'The Bills did a lot of work on the running game in their first padded practice, but Tyrod Taylor was an efficient 8-for-10 passing the ball. He had one pass that was close to being intercepted but was otherwise sharp during the 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 portion of practice. The defense was still applying plenty of pressure, though.' https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/8/4/16100490/bills-camp-8-3-injury-updates-defense-quarterbacks-tyrod-taylor-jerel-worthy-gerald-hodges-yarbrough From tonight's scrimmage - 'Tyrod looked sharp for the most part in 11-11 today, leading the offense on an 11 play, 73 yard drive that ended in a missed 43-yard field goal by Steven Hauschka. Tyrod opened up camp hitting on his deep ball to Rashad Ross for a touchdown. Taylor was also able to connect with Charles Clay and Sammy Watkins on the 11 play drive. The pass to Clay was down the seam. Unfortunately for TJ Yates and Nathan Peterman, practice didn’t go so well. In goal line work, Yates threw a pick over the middle to linebacker Gerald Hodges and Peterman threw a pick to end the practice to defensive back Joe Powell. These two haven’t exactly had the best campaign this camp as they face the second and third-team defense.'
  10. As others have said, flying to/from NYC. I've done it during the day and at night (from both JFK and LGA), night is definitely a must see. Flying down to Ft. Lauderdale, FL at night, we went over the Everglades. There isn't a whole lot to see at night, except there is absolutely no lights at all. You just kind of see this line that runs through the state, where it just goes black. On one side of the line there are tons of lights visible, and on the other side it's just pitch black. I didn't know what it was at first and my friend told me "that's where the Everglades start". Flying over the Grand Canyon is pretty amazing. Also flying into both LA and then the Bay Area in CA was pretty cool. Seeing all the cities on the bay is pretty cool. San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose (you could see where the sharks play, I thought that was cool). Seen the Golden Gate Bridge from the air too, flying into Oakland. Flying to/from Salt Lake City was surprisingly nice, too. It's this beautiful, city sitting on the big expanse of flat ground, with big mountains suddenly jutting out from from the flat ground in the distance, kind of surrounding the city.
  11. Wow. What a lame ass live stream that was... They had John Murphy talking for like all of 5 minutes, if that, and then said "well that'll do it for the live stream of today's practice". Then they showed a stationary camera pointing at one end of the field (which nobody was at). It stayed that way for a few more minutes. Then as the players started practicing at that end of the field, the live stream ended completely and went to a black screen. Gee, thanks for streaming that Bills! When they said they'd live stream it, I assumed it would be the actual scrimmage. Not just 5 minutes of talking. Boo!
  12. Anyone know where I can find th live stream of it when it starts? I'm not seeing it on the Bills website. Or will it hit show up until it starts?
  13. https://mobile.twitter.com/SabresFanatics/status/892508004242817026?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fhfboards.hockeysfuture.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D2361551%26page%3D26 Must see goal by Mittelstadt! That twitter account I posted the link from actually has a number of good highlights from Mittelstadt from World Jr's. I really think (hope) we may have got the steal of the draft with this kid. His hands and speed are on another level. Just an all around great, highly skilled hockey player. Glad to see Buffalo putting more priority on skill over size and "grit"/toughness again. Here's another nice play. Those hands! https://mobile.twitter.com/SabresFanatics/status/892848332225232896/photo/1 https://mobile.twitter.com/SabresFanatics/status/891375641874059264 https://mobile.twitter.com/SabresFanatics/status/891375359840718849/video/1 https://mobile.twitter.com/SabresFanatics/status/891364854526865408/video/1
  14. I spend a whole $0 per month. I was thinking that I probably need to cut that down a bit though. It's getting hard to afford...
  15. Thanks for the help everyone. I did a LOT of research and ended up going with this one. I was going to go with an Asus, but I read some people were having issues with apple products so I went with the Nighthawk. The Asus AC66U or AC68U and the Netgear Nighthawk seemed to be the most widely recommended and the best performers in almost every test I found - https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R7000.aspx It's a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 (AC1900 series router). So far I am totally blown away. It's night and day from my previous outdated router. It was an old G series though, so this is quite the step up. I had the old Linksys for a good 10 years, easy. So it served me well. I can't believe how much faster my internet is, though. I am getting like 5mbps faster speeds than what I'm paying for from my internet provider, and that's on both the 2.4 and 5ghz bands, everywhere in my house (both floors, even in the far corners of my house) and outside in my backyard too. The wifi is just as fast (or sometimes even faster) as my Ethernet connected devices! That's amazing to me. I am getting a strong, full signal everywhere too. I am very impressed with how strong the 5ghz signal strength has been. 5ghz doesn't transmit nearly as far as 2.4ghz, so I was worried it wouldn't cover my whole house. But it has. I've been able to keep my iPad signed in to only the 5ghz, even on the opposite end of my house the router is at. I was planning on setting up the router in a central location, but I don't think that'll be necessary. I would have to run new Ethernet cables through the wall/floor, so it'd be nice not to have to do that... It seems to have solved my intermittent connectivity issues too. My iPad Pro was dropping the wifi many times a day. Fingers crossed that continues...
  16. Aw man, why did you even have to bring that up?! lol Still hurts to this day, picturing that. Seeing Bruce in Browns colors wasn't nearly as painful though. His playing days are long gone. I still didn't trike seeing him in that orange and brown. But it was nothing like seeing him actually play for another team.
  17. Yeah my ACL is still torn from many years ago. Completely tore my ACL, partially tore MCL, tore my meniscus and it took a piece of my knee bone with it... Damn hard injury to recover from. It took me many months to even put weight on it, and many more months of rehab to learn to walk again. Getting range of motion back was probably the worst. Talk about pain... ugh I get shivers just thinking about it. I've had a lot of injuries in my life, but nothing came close to the pain from that knee injury. It blew up immediately. The doctor said he never drained that much fluid off someone's knee before (and these were the UB dr's that work on the Bills and other athletes).
  18. Once again, thank you Astro! I actually really look forward to reading these every day now. Much more so than any of the stuff the local media is putting out. You should be getting paid for this! lol
  19. This is pretty cool. I really like McDermott's overall approach so far. This is by far the most hopeful I have been about a coaching staff in a long, long time. I don't expect it to happen overnight, but I think we might have the right guy for the job this time. I was just a little skeptical about them seeming so focused on "character" players. It gave me flashbacks to Chan Gailey and trading away talent. But seeing how their draft picks - Zay Jones, Tre White, Doin Dawkins, even Matt Milano - as well as other players they've brought in have performed so far, and what type of people they are, how team first oriented they seem, I'm starting to like the "character" approach much more. I'm also hopeful that these drafted players aren't they type that will want to run away from Buffalo the first chance they get. I obviously don't know for sure, but they seem like maybe they could be more like Kyle Williams types to me, who become very dedicated to the team and fans and city. I think that's important in a place like Buffalo. McDermott seems to have a good handle on how to build a true team, and has a very clear vision on how to accomplish that. He seems like a true leader, and I'm not sure when the Bills have really had that in recent history... I was very excited when we hired SM, I've been a fan of his since 2013. But he's actually been even better than I expected so far. Obviously the games are what matters, but I'm definitely a lot more hopeful than I was with Rex, Marrone, Chan etc. I just hope McD is given some time to turn this around. I'm really sick of the coaching carousel.
  20. I've noticed less and less Jerry Sullivan & Bucky Gleason articles and more stuff by the newer guys, which is a very welcome change IMO. They almost seem to maybe be very slowly phasing out the old blood (unless that's just my wishful thinking), or at least mixing in a lot more stuff by the new blood. Hopefully they continue bringing in new writers...
  21. There doesn't have to be a new stadium built by 2023. It's not like New Era is falling apart, or will cease to exist once the lease runs out. They could very easily re-up for a few more years, while a new stadium is being planned or built. Pegula has also said something along the lines of he wants to accomplish something with the Bills (like winning) before he starts asking NYS for anything. if Pegula's plan is to move the team, he's sure going about it in a strange way - continually using his own money to make upgrades to the facilities as well as buying land + buildings near the stadium/arena and building restaurants, hotels, skating rinks (etc). But I'm sure he's just building up his empire in Buffalo to move the team(s)... lol I really have no fear of the Bills moving anymore and I think a new stadium (or an even bigger renovation to New Era (which I think is less likely)) will happen eventually. Pegula is being smart and respectful to NYS officials as well as us taxpayers. They're just finishing renovations on their current stadium. It would be kind of a dick move to already be talking about moving to a brand new stadium IMO.
  22. He just doesn't look right in that Browns gear! I'd definitely prefer him here in the right team colors instead of that doo doo brown... lol Who knows. Maybe they'll have Bruce help out here in years to come. With trying to install a brand new system and culture (etc), I can see why maybe they wouldn't invite him (or any guest coaches, for that matter) to do something like that this year. I'm not even sure he wants to coach. I think he's just taken a personal interest in Myles Garrett for whatever reason. He's been helping him going back to before the draft I believe.
