  1. Yes I ride (street and dirt) and have for many years. I have never dumped my bike on the street. On the dirt is a totally different story. You are going to lay your bike down. It’s unavoidable IMO. I’ve been around motorcycles for much of my life. My dad and his friends all had bikes when I was young. Then I spent about 6 years working at a couple different motorcycle shops (started in parts and ended as a salesman). Crashing a street bike is not inevitable IMO, although the risk is much higher on the high performance sport bikes. You should absolutely NOT be on a 600+ CC sport bike unless you have been riding for years. They have way too much power for the inexperienced. All it takes is twisting that throttle a little too far and you are in trouble (especially if you don’t have your other hand on the clutch lever (ALWAYS keep at least a couple fingers on that lever!) because the inertia can cause you start sliding back on the bike, which causes you to twist the throttle even more wide open and will send you+your bike cartwheeling). But in general, you just have to ride carefully and know what you’re doing. You have to be a defensive driver on a motorcycle. I expect every car to cut me off or pull out in front of me and act accordingly. I don’t weave in and out of traffic. When I pass a car, I do it quickly and don’t stay in their blind spot. I leave plenty of room between myself and other vehicles (as much as possible anyway). When following a car, I try to position myself where they can see me in their mirrors. You also have have to make sure you do your maintenance and upkeep. Making sure you have good tires on your bike, with good tread and the right tire pressure, is probably the most important thing. They are the only thing keeping you upright. NEVER ever skimp on your tires. I actually had a friend crash while I was out riding with him, all due to a slow leak in his tire (that imtold him to get fixed multiple times). It causes him to lose traction going around a sharp turn. He slid out and his bike smashed into a guardrail (thankfully he was unharmed). I have crashed my motocross bike though. As I said, it’s inevitable IMO. Especially with the power those motocross bikes have. I was out out riding with a big group form work (one of the bike shops I worked at). It was a nice day near the end of December. All the snow has melted and it was beyond muddy. My rear tire was too worn down for those conditions and I was sliding all over the place. So I decided to head back to the car and call it a day. Well, on my way back with a friend, he was out in front and “roosting” me (shooting dirt at me from his spinning back tire). So I got out in front of him and was returning the favor. Then I suddenly hit a dry patch, my tire gripped and it shot my dirt bike out from under me. I landed on my feet but I had riding boots on with steel inserts (to protect from breaking an ankle) and it caused my knee to bend about 90 degrees in the wrong direction. I have NEVER felt pain like that in my life. When a couple friends finally helped me stand up, I tried to put weight in my leg and my knee just buckled. It bent straight to the left and hit my other leg. I looked at my friend and said “uh, yeah I think I’ll go to the hospital now...”. I ended up tearing multiple ligaments in my knee (partial tear of MCL, full tear of ACL), along with ripping a large chuck of my meniscus (the padding between the knee bones) and chipping a piece of my knee bone off. Recovery was brutal, and very, very long.

  3. I wouldn’t say that smashing through tables is an embarrassment. It’s not something I’d do, ans I’m not crazy about the “drunken buffoon” reputation we seem to be getting in the national media. But hey, to each his own. I do worry that it is going to ruin tailgating for everyone, though. What IS truly embarrassing (in my opinion) - The Bills fans who get trashed and treat the opposing fans like ****. There’s simply no reason for that. I have (female) family members who live in Boston, and they refuse to even come to Bills games with me anymore because of the way they’ve been treated at the stadium. They are honestly scared to come and that really pisses me off. Buffalo has always been known for how great, and nice, the people are. I brag about that to my family in Boston. Then I bring them to games and they’re like “I thought you said the people here were nice. This is as bad as (or worse than) it is in Boston for opposing fans!”. To be fair, I’ve met plenty of nice Bills fans at the stadium, who treated them (and me when I’m with them) very well. It’s just that smaller group of !@#$s that ruin it for them (and me).
  4. Huh. I didn’t know his real name was John. I wonder if he will invite Sam Reinhart to live with him in his new condo?
  5. I posted that story to show that it didn’t look like he actually did anything wrong, except for being there when it happened. I felt the OP was overreacting (as usual) so I wanted to add some context.
  6. Here’s some context - https://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/08/browns_trading_corey_coleman_t.html
  7. But signing a free agent like Decker, that nobody else wanted, was brilliant. But taking a gamble on a recent high pick that didn’t work out elsewhere is dumb now. This is pretty much exactly what you were calling to them to do. These low risk high reward reclamation projects, exactly like this trade, are the types of move the Patriots have made their living on. You are either just trolling, or you are 100% determined to look every every move the Bills make in the worst possible light. NY does not have the highest tax rates. California, Minnesota (who just signed the biggest free agent available) and New Jersey all have higher tax rates. It took John Dorsey (ex Chiefs GM) 20 years in the NFL to be hired as a GM. It took Kevin Colbert (Steelers GM) 26 years in the NFL to get his first GM job. It took Reggie McKenzie 18 years in NFL John Schneider (Seattle) 17 years in NFL Dave Caldwell 17 years in NFL Mike Maccagnan 25 years in NFL Tom Telesco 22 years in NFL Jason Licht 18 years in NFL Les Snead 17 years in NFL Bob Quinn 16 years in NFL Thomas Dimitroff 15 years in NFL And that’s only a list of GM’s. I could make this same list for head coaches (but I won’t bother because I know it won’t make any difference to you. I had already made this above list previously and only had to copy+paste, otherwise I wouldn’t have even bothered at all) Edit - oh and to add to this, Beane ne McDermott are one of the youngest coach/GM combos in the NFL. It’s adtually remarkable the amount of NFL experience they already have for both being so young.
  8. I am honestly just a bit surprised that Buffalo traded for Coleman, with some of his issues I’ve heard about (specifically not working hard enough, and things of that nature). Hes is not the prototypical McBeane player by any means. But it is very nice to see. Ive seen numerous people complaining/worrying that McBeane would never take a chance on any talented but flawed type players. This is shows that they will. Last year was about establishing the culture. Now it seems that they feel they have a strong enough locker room to take chances on a player like this (not that Coleman is some huge off field risk or anything) and try to turn him around.
  9. I think it’s about changing the culture and setting an example. It sounds like maybe Coleman wasn’t doing the things he needed to do to be successful in Cleveland. Just like McBeane had to come in with an iron fist and get rid of people who weren’t getting on board, I think Dorsey feels similar. I agree about Cleveland hemorrhaging 1st rounders though. It’s absolutrly unbelievable the amount of 1st round picks they’ve had leave/bust. Speaking of which.... EIGHT 1st rounders in 4 years, all gone. This is why rebuilding is meaningless if you draft like Cleveland.
  10. I wonder if we will see this trade on Hard Knocks. I’d bet we will. Should be interesting... Love this move by Beane. He grabbed a recent top 15 pick for what sounds like peanuts. Well worth the gamble for Buffalo. And if he works out, we finally have a legit deep threat again.
  11. I actually loved KB defending his fellow teammates. I thought it was a stand up move from our current #1 WR, and I also think it shows that he’s really bought in to being a Buffalo Bill. Its shat a lot of us fans do when they attack our team - we find reasons to defend the Bills. And i I don’t think KB is delusional by any means. I think he knows what’s up. Would Sharp rather him throw all his current teammates under the bus, too?
  12. Maybe I am way out in left field with this thought, but if he’s using that day as a reminder/lesson, it gives me more hope that it isn’t some type of ongoing mental illness. Maybe it was just some type of mistake, like taking some type of substance that didn’t agree with him or something along those lines (which is much better than a mental illness IMO)
  13. Hey, since we’re on the subject, here’s a neat little fact about the U.K. that I bet you didn’t know - It used to be called England... ?

  15. It may be (and hopefully is). But It depends. The new new team can either choose to honor it or not. https://www.capfriendly.com/faq#nmc I would imagine “it’s a scenario where” (lol) Botterill pushed hard not to have to honor it.
  16. Nice! I can’t say that I ever thought either Buffalo team would have owners that would just decide all on their own to drop $18M of their own money to upgrade the training facilities. The Bills already had one of the better training facilities in the NFL as it was (thanks again to Terry and Kim). Its a a nice little reminder of how lucky we Buffalo fans are to have Terry and Kim Pegula as owners.
  17. I am still all pumped up from this trade. If Skinner is signed long term, this has the potential to be one of the more lopsided trades in Sabres history. Botterill has done done an excellent job in his trades for players. Imagine if someone had said to you that we could turn Ennis, Foligno, Pu + 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th round picks into Scandella, Sheary sand Skinner... We all would have laughed and told that person they were out to lunch... Botts has been excellent at making these low risk, high reward type trades. It’s such a stark difference from Tim Murray, who seemed to overpay in every trade. I can only imagine what he’d have given up for Skinner... To be fair though, I would have liked to see more value come back in the Kane + ROR trade. But I think there were extenuating circumstances in both cases. So I have a hard time laying all the blame on Botterill. Wow. He’s tied with Connor McDavid for 7th in even strength goal scoring over the past 3 seasons. That is impressive!
  18. I LOVE this trade! Now we just have to get him signed. I’m a little surprised that Botterill hasn’t talked extension, but I would imagine the price would have been quite a bit higher if he did. Skinner fills such such a huge need for Buffalo. He is instantly our #1 LW. He’s a great even strength goal scorer (I believe about 3/4ths of his goals have been at ES) , has scored 30+ three times (including almost 40g 2yrs ago) and more than 20 goals 6 out of his 8 NHL seasons. I think we finally have someone who can finish Eichel’s passes! Between Skinner and Sherry, watch Eichel’s assist totals skyrocket! (I hope...). Im pumped up! I was hoping we’d trade for Skinner all offseason, but I had heard he nixed a bunch of trades at the draft and figured Buffalo was among the teams he said no to. Thrilled to learn we were very high on his list!!
  19. Beane put together an excellent scouting and personnel staff. He started winning me over pretty quickly with all the big name hires he made in that regard. Tim will tell, but IMO I think this front office staff has a chance to be the best we’ve had since the Bill Polian era.
  20. Upgrade it with who? Who is currently available that would be an upgrade at WR? And remember, during the off-season we traded Tyrod. We have no set starting QB. All we had during free agency was Peterman and a totally unproven McCarron. Do you think veteran receivers with other options were lining up to come to Buffalo? Training camp just started though. Rosters have not yet been trimmed. Some good players will shake loose, and hopefully Buffalo will take a look fit is right. So let’s wait and see. I do expect that WR will be a bigger priority next year for sure, with Josh Allen likely taking on full time starting duty and the Bills having a ridiculous amount of cap space. Well said.
  21. I loved hearing him say “the camaraderie here is tighter than other camps I’ve seen”. McDermott has been such a breath of fresh air for this entire organization. I can’t wait to see what they’re able to build in Buffalo. Thanks for sharing OP.
  22. I have been a Sony guy for many years now. Ever since they released their flat screen CRT (tube) TVs. They just make excellent televisions. Their motion + picture processing and HD upscaling has led the industry for years. Having said that, the new Samsung Q9 has me very interested. I happened to see it at the store recently and I was beyond impressed with it. They had it next to the Sony Z9D (considered by many to be the best LED tv on the market) and it looked just as good, and in some ways even better. I couldn’t believe how good the picture looked. It was almost as good as the OLED’s. Honestly, it really has me considering buying a Samsung for the first time. Sony is coming out with a brand new processor soon, though, and it’s supposed to be more than 2x more powerful than their current one. I seen a demo TV with the new processor and it was unbelievable. So I will wait for their release and compare the 2.
  23. Nice! I can’t wait to watch it. I really love this kind of stuff. Thanks for sharing astb41 All I do is copy the YouTube address from the top of the page (address bar) and post it here. It embeds it automatically for me.
