Matt Barkley - taking things more serious?
Figster replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey man, Its almost time for take off, We need to get into regular season boasting / posting form. Saying Montana and Barkley were both considered to have noodle arms coming out of college is probably not the kind of comparison Matt Barkley would be proud of in my humble opinion Biscuit. -

Matt Barkley - taking things more serious?
Figster replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This just in, Barkley is running the Daboll O more effectively then Allen right now and probably does give Buffalo a better ability (not chance) to win football games at this point in time IMO. Matt Barkley is seeing the field well, decisive, throwing with anticipation and accuracy. So decisive the supposed to low of velocity throws have been a non factor on the football field in my humble opinion Biscuit. The Buffalo Bills are in the process of developing the 1st franchise QB they have had in almost 2 decades. Josh Allen came out of college about as raw as you can get. It takes time to develop him and its not happening overnight. So for folks that want to call Allen a bust for one bad play, or even one bad game , get real, he has less then a full season of games under his belt. As does Barkley... -

Hopefully our Oline is 10x better The play of Matt Barkley as a Buffalo Bill has impressed the hell out of me. Big, big fan of Josh Allen... -

Your Opinions on the Gameday Opinions threads
Figster replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think If the Topic description looks more like a normal thread topic it may be more appealing to open and enter into a discussion at 1st glance. For instance If Ed Oliver was a stand out on preseason game 3 title the topic description " Ed Oliver shines/ Defense Discussion" Start the thread intro with a brief run down on his performance. It gives the discussion a place to start. Just a thought... -

I like it, The regular season is sure to increase online poster activity here at TBD. I think its user friendly on gameday and helps prevent duplicate thread starts on the same line of discussion. -
Andrew Lucks retirement was sad for me. I'm sure many felt the same way. So much potential. So many unanswered dreams. Myself personally, I've never been more sure about a player destined for greatness coming out of college then Andrew Luck. Lets not have this happen to our prodigy...

thats what I'm thinking Tcali, J A has lots of weapons around him now with good protection, (good advice on the sidelines) MERCY!!! This New Era Buffalo Bills football team packs a punch!!!

Matt Barkley has been in the league long enough he has learned to take what the oppositions D gives you. Barkley is decisive, throwing with good anticipation and accuracy. So decisive his lower velocity throws have become a non factor IMO. I say all this not as a knock on Allen, but as a compliment to the QB position because If Josh Allen can learn to play in the Daboll system as well as Barkley we have our franchise QB. Barkley on the other hand is looking more like a starter in the NFL then backup which could translate to good trade value down the line. (IMO) I'm not trying to start a QB controversy because there is none...

Its a sad day for the game of football.

Absolutely, Myself personally ATL, the confidence level for me is as high as Allens ceiling because there is nothing this kid can't do, theres not a throw that he can't make, including throwing up a hail Mary from his own 30 yard line. Throwing at one of the highest velocitys the league has ever seen. It takes time, experience, making the mistake once or twice before you realize its not worth the risk. I'm confident because Josh Allen is a very intelligent QB.

Are you close enough to a city to use an antenna? I remember back in the day ( 50 years ago ) going out and turning the roof antenna just right to pick up Buffalo channels from a sleepy little town called West Valley. -

Instant Replay: Should it Be in Real Time?
Figster replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If for no other reason then to help verify an officials accuracy and field vision when making calls. Hypothetically speaking, lets say everything was determined through the eyes (or head Cam) of an official at field level as you suggest. Although all other camera angles at different elevations may expose something missed by an official. The determination or outcome would be equally balanced on both teams IMO. The way I see it often times a penalty occurs away from the play. Does it hurt the game of football from an entertainment standpoint if missed infractions are equally balanced? Myself personally, I think not... -
Astro practice notes has become a very delightful part of training camp for me and I can't thank you enough, Happy Birthday/Bills game day! Lets go Buffalo!!!

Instant Replay: Should it Be in Real Time?
Figster replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aerial or birds eye view is unobstructed and helps provide accurate location in many instances. Field level camera's would face to many obstructions in my humble opinion Gu. I like the idea of replay viewed in real speed. I also like getting the call right and having all concerned in agreement without hurting the natural flow of the game. (Head Cam on the officials might offer an interesting view.) -
Instant Replay: Should it Be in Real Time?

The officiating crew may not have the proper angle /sightline to see an obvious penalty. The point is to help keep with the natural flow of a football game. Not dissecting... -

The natural flow of a game is of great importance to most viewers. Possibly even more important then having 100% accuracy. Gu's idea is interesting because it makes the instant replay as bang, bang when its reviewed as it was real time when it occured. Now thats thinking outside the box... -
Question, do you think the Pats are loaded with elite talent? If you don't mind my asking.

Myself personally eball, Buffalo has good depth, even at some of the key positions.
