  1. “But it’s the Dems that have to turn down the temperature”
  2. Oh wow Lauren Boebert started all this? No way The GOP of the Civil War has 0.0% in common with the modern MAGA party
  3. This is Matt Forney: https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2016/07/matt-forney-at-the-rnc.html "CLEVELAND—This is far-right journalist and internet personality Matt Forney, whose work sits at the intersection of racism and men’s rights activism. “Let’s just be honest: everyone hates blacks,” he wrote last year, arguing that “whites are rapidly getting fed up with what is basically a hostile, parasitic population in their midst.” He is the author of essays including “Why Fat Girls Don’t Deserve to Be Loved” and “How to Beat Your Girlfriend or Wife and Get Away With It.” He is not married." Matt Yglesias is a center-left author I have followed for years.
  4. Matt Yglesias was quoting Matt Forney. Forney’s is the rhetoric I’m concerned about.
  5. It was in the link I posted about 40 mins ago.
  6. Shouldn't have said that. Now, can we get back to the "democrats need to be rounded up and exterminated" talk? Does this cancel out every statement major leaders have made?
  7. “but it’s the democrats who want violence”
  8. I’m just saying. Nearly every major democratic leader has denounced this, while the right wing voices are calling to round up democrats. And we don’t even know what the shooter was thinking!
  9. But it was never totally merit-based to begin with. DEI arose because skilled minorities were being overlooked because of their skin color. There remains a large divide in wages between Black and white employees. https://www.epi.org/unequalpower/publications/understanding-black-white-disparities-in-labor-market-outcomes/ https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/08/31/black-workers-views-and-experiences-in-the-us-labor-force-stand-out-in-key-ways/ Now, did DEI go too far in places? Probably. But it's not fair to say that Black people in highly-skilled jobs are automatically not qualified, which is the rhetoric I got from Kirk and his compatriots like Matt Walsh quite often.
  10. I disagreed with him because I found him to be a dishonest nut who was recently embracing more and more extreme right wing content.
  11. Charlie's position was that minorities were automatically unqualified for jobs like that. Otherwise, why would he be questioning a Black pilot? He deliberately sowed doubt in people who had worked hard for their job. If you walk on a plane, see a Black pilot, and automatically think that person is unqualified for the job, ask yourself why you think that. It's an incredibly harmful position to have. You didn't address that Charlie shared and agreed with Steve Sailer's writings.
  12. Oh stop. This is disingenuous. As recently as June, Charlie was posting about agreeing with open white supremacist Steve Sailer. He was happily embracing "scientific" racism and IQ gobbledygook. The only difference between him and Nick Fuentes was that Charlie supported Israel. He encouraged people to raise money for the Paul Pelosi attacker. He told Taylor Swift to "submit to her husband." He by no means should have been killed. I do appreciate him going to college campuses, but let's not pretend he did it to engage with the other side. He was famous for fake arguments and logical fallacies. He did it for sound bytes and "gotcha" moments. Don't sanitize what he was about.
  13. He repeatedly called for trans people to be "dealt with" man
  14. “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword." Matthew 26:52
  15. I've got Pittsburgh. I think their defense will clamp down on a bad Seattle o-line after a pretty mediocre week last week.
  16. Trump didn't even lower the flags to half-staff.
  17. It's more unlikely than you think. Kirk has had prominent arguments with followers of Nick Fuentes over Israel. Fuentes' crew is extremely unhinged.
  18. You have RFK Jr. in this administration!
  19. I like how we have zero proof the shooter was a Democrat and your agitators like Sean here are feeding it into you. If you can't see that he's part of the problem, you are never going to figure it out.
  20. I absolutely did not and please go back to that thread and check me.
