Charlie Kirk shot in Utah (Pronounced Dead)

I really don’t think they’re “glorified” as much as you think they are. Having a single-parent household in a crumbling wood frame duplex full of lead paint is a barrier right there! Substandard housing is one of the roots of the problem. I know they changed entry requirements around, which was stupid. But I don’t think it’s a bad thing to look at a students background and take it into consideration for acceptance! See above. -

Yeah, but why should it be hard? Just because one kid made it out of the hood doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to work to remove these barriers. Your story about the school was very good. I suspect, though, that the kids weren’t taking your lunch because they hated you, but because they were starving. It’s just that easy huh? -

How do you stop it with little access to quality education and housing? -

It’s not the governments job at all. But think about it: In the early 20th century, Black people were generally limited to mediocre jobs due to barriers to entry like limited education. In part due to policies like redlining, they were prohibited from getting mortgages in certain parts of cities and were limited to the slums. Now, when you’re stuck renting a derelict old house and working at the smelting yard for minimum wage, you’re not going to be able to leave anything behind you. Thus, your kids won’t have much. Black schools were historically worse than white ones, so the cycle continued. When you have no hope for the future, it’s easy to turn to living in the moment, riding with gangs and whatnot. About 8% of America’s millionaires are Black. Only 1% of Black Americans with a high school degree are projected to become millionaires. Even with a masters degree, they’re still the lowest chance of becoming a millionaire. https://balancingeverything.com/millionaire-statistics/ There’s no reason not to keep working on removing barriers to success. -

Yes, and that should be commended. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t work hard to remove the obstacles. Yes but much of that wealth is from athletics, music, movies, etc. Where is the generational wealth tied into homes, trust funds, college degrees, and so forth? -

I am not justifying it. It’s just part of my job to analyze neighborhoods and the outcomes of living in squalor -

Certainly, but don’t such environments foster more crime? When you’re starving, addicted to drugs, and have zero hope for the future, you do stupid things. -

Why do you think this is? Inherent mental deficiencies, or a product of poverty and shattered communities owning to decades of disinvestment and racial prejudice through the late 20th century? -

Scott Adams said we “can’t live with black people” anymore and got pissed that there were consequences for such rhetoric. -

Wasn’t the Catholic school shooter “detrans” or something? Their political beliefs were also all over creation -

I never said that. I am disagreeing that Kirk was some “kumbaya” moderate who only wanted honest debate. -

Disingenuous . He called for much worse than that. And no, he didn’t want to debate it for real. He was a meme years ago. -

You know, if people here wanted to have an actual discussion, I’m fine with it. It’s impossible to do so when posts I make get me called a “Marxist,” “commie,” “ pssy” or any of the other wonderful words I’ve gotten.
