  1. Why is Elon going to the Pentagon? His role has nothing to do with national security.
  2. You do that, we will worry about the right wing’s new fascination with deleting judicial review and allowing the president to do whatever he wants unchecked.
  3. I still think Hegseth is the biggest loser in Trump’s cabinet, but Patel has to be a very, very close second.
  4. Any time you want to answer my question RE: educational standards, that would be fine. Why, I almost get the feeling that you’re talking out of your ass and don’t have an actual answer!
  5. How can you prove it without due process? They just shipped some guy off because they thought his Real Madrid tattoo was a gang tattoo.
  6. Deporting American citizens to hard labor in El Salvador all to save Tesla’s profits. What a great, moral presidency we have.
  7. Did he have his cabinet attempt to pump up Stellantis stock? Or give a sales pitch, with notes, for Jeeps? Obviously, presidents go to factories and restaurants and such all the time. That’s not a big deal. I just find it awfully strange how this government is pulling out all the stops to support Tesla…owned by Trump’s right hand man.
  8. What on earth are you talking about? Yes, I believe having one national educational standard is superior to 50 different ones. Some states have more money than others, meaning there will be different standards. Since @JDHillFan punted, can YOU give me an example of a metric you use to consider the DOE a “failure?” … do you understand the purpose of a message board?
  9. I did. You said it was too old. As I said, you move the goalposts so much it's impossible.
  10. I rest my case. At this point, there is absolutely nothing I could give you that would satisfy you. You are hell-bent on deleting anything that benefits the American public. Nonetheless: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/as-noaa-braces-for-more-cuts-scientists-say-public-safety-is-at-risk
  11. Public option is great. That's my policy of choice. Germany invented it in 1887 for pete's sake! Critical Race Theory was invented in the 1960s. Okay, what is your metric of success? Oklahoma is 50/50 in every conceivable school metric except producing good NFL players. No, I say that some states are poorer (especially rural red states...) and will not have the resources to care for disabled kids without Federal support.
  12. Name one thing Obama did that is "radical Marxist." I'm genuinely interested.
  13. Educational attainment jumped from right about 66% in 1980 to over 90% today. https://www.statista.com/statistics/184260/educational-attainment-in-the-us/
  14. I gave you some. You dismissed them as being too out of date. Your constant moving of the goalposts is tiring.
  15. Good! I hope he holds to that. I believe that education doesn’t stop at state borders and that a singular federal standard is best. Define “radical Marxist” then find an example of some government employee who fits this definition
  16. To quote the great Civil War general George Henry Thomas: I am tired of states’ rights
  17. I blame all the palusami
  18. What is the GOP plan to ensure that disabled kids have access to public education?
  19. Which organization of hers was "Marxist?" The Peace Corps? The Lawyers Association for Women?
  20. No, he didn't. Getting rid of the DOE would require an act of Congress. https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-news-03-20-25/index.html I also disagree with having 50 different sets of standards for children in America. Especially when states like Oklahoma and Mississippi exist.
  21. Putin rejected a ceasefire yesterday. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/3/20/spring-brings-more-russian-advances-as-putin-rejects-a-ceasefire-in-ukraine My guy First of all, yes they did. This is obvious by the web pages they're deleting. And Jackie Robinson was a DEI hire!
  22. I'm not sure what your point is. The whole point of this thread was that NWS offices are unable to gather the critical data because of the cuts. They've already been understaffed; firing probational employees will only make the problem worse.
