  2. POW awards are not given by fans. They are awarded by the NFL. There is of course some measure of subjectivity to them. But we can acknowledge that Edmunds had an incredible game on Sunday, probably the best of his career so far. If he has finally - finally - taken that step we've all waited for, it couldn't have come at a better time. He has a real test this weekend.
  3. Our offense should be able to put up 30+ points on the Chiefs. In fact that should be the expectation. If we hold them below 30 there is no reason this offense shouldn't win that game. So I consider what the defense did in the regular season last year to be a success. The only alternative is hope they turn the ball over 4 times like they did against the Chiefs but I'm certainly not banking on that. We have put up 30+ points in 3 out of 4 games this year against defenses that are statistically better than the Chiefs. If we can't put up 30+ on them it is because of a serious mental block with Allen or Daboll or McDermott. I just want to see us overcome that mental block. Then I will know we can beat them in January.
  4. I don't think you understand the post. No one is saying it's okay if the Bills lose. But if they're going to lose, do it in a shootout where we prove we can hang with them. If we lose the game with another underwhelming offensive showing it is going to be hard for me to care about the rest of the season. I already know we will win a lot of games and make the playoffs. I want to know that we can score on the Chiefs and at least make it a 50/50 game. If we do that, win or lose we are legitimate Super Bowl contenders. If not we're a dark horse.
  5. That "prevent" game plan kept the Chiefs to 26 points last year (in the regular season), in a game where our offense produced almost nothing. In the AFCCG we moved away from that strategy and paid the price. If we are forcing the Chiefs to run the ball we are winning the game on defense. That defense plus the elite offense that this team is capable of is a win going away. People whined about the Chiefs rushing yardage in that game. Who really cares? Points win games.
  6. You've been misconstruing what I said. I said that smart offenses with smart QBs can exploit his weaknesses and negate his positives to the point that he becomes a net negative for the defense. I was happy to see him make some plays yesterday. He showed better instincts. Next week is a real test. I'm not expecting him to shut Kelce down but I need to see him contain him at least. A repeat of the AFCCG would be a step back.
  7. As a Bills fan for 20+ years I am a leading expert on mediocre QBs that give you false hope. Welcome to purgatory.
  8. If he's so good why didn't Belichick trust him to get 3 yards to keep the game alive?
  9. This game shows how far the Pats are from being a good team. The Bucs are down all of their starting CBs. Gronk was out. Brady was uncharacteristically off with his accuracy. Bucs WRs had some big drops. Succop missed an easy FG. And still the Pats couldn't win the game at home.
  10. You'd think the NFL would be sick of late game-changing penalties. Every Monday there is at least one conversation that dominates the media. And still they do nothing to fix it.
  11. Gross I just audibly cheered for a Brady to Antonio Brown completion. I'm such a sell out.
  12. And right on cue Collinsworth tried to blame the WR for not coming back to the ball. It's a simple outside hitch... the ball should be getting there right after he turns around.
  13. Yeah those outside passes take a looooong time to get there. Tampa Bay's secondary is not good enough to take advantage.
  14. I would still take Lawrence and Wilson over him if I was starting an NFL franchise. Jones might be better now but he has not shown anything close to the potential of those other two. To be an elite QB eventually you have to create something out of nothing. I haven't seen even a hint of that ability from Jones. He does a lot of things pretty well but nothing particularly well.
  15. I think he could be a Matt Ryan type but doesn't do anything particularly special. He is a lot better than Cam though.
  16. Brady looks like garbage so far. Not like him to let a big game get under his skin.
  17. Defenses are copying the Chiefs game plan. They're dropping everyone and making the easy passing windows a lot harder to come by. But that defensive strategy should open some room for Allen and the RBs to take off running.
  18. Did Belichick just blitz Brady? Clueless. I guess Brady really was the engine of that dynasty.
  19. Allen couldn't read a defense the first half of his rookie season. Wilson's arm talent is where I see the comparison. He is obviously not as big and strong as Allen so he will never be the same threat to run the ball.
  20. Wilson kind of reminds me of Josh Allen rookie year. He needs to work on his ball placement.
  21. How is that a PI? He is trying to break on the ball. I guess maybe he was a tad early. Meh.
