  1. I don't know that they have the players to run those routes. Watkins was that guy last year and they made no effort to replace him. Tyreek Hill isn't a quick slant WR. For whatever reason he seems to have trouble catching quick crossing routes too, like he's too afraid to get hit or something (which is the definition of irony). Kelce is the only player on offense running normal routes. Everyone is just bracketing Hill downfield and Kelce underneath and there's no one else to throw the ball to consistently. Weirdly enough it might be a simple talent issue for the KC offense. It's a top heavy offense with zero complements.
  2. They traded a pick for a player they previously let walk in free agency, in a rebuilding year? That is the worst trade I've seen this year. They need to be stockpiling draft picks. Bizarre.
  3. Thank you for posting this. When I woke up this morning my first thought was "I can't wait to hear Rex Ryan's opinion on something." My day is fulfilled.
  4. KC's offense looks less creative this year. There is really no excuse for a team with Hill and Kelce to have trouble getting open. I can't help but wonder if Reid's personal life is distracting him, and I wouldn't blame him if it is. He already lost one son to a drug overdose, now his other son is facing jail time for seriously injuring a child while drunk driving. I don't care what job you have, it can't be easy to focus with all of that going on in your family.
  5. I'm rooting for the 49ers to win a lot of games since the Dolphins hold their 1st round pick. I suppose they'll screw it up either way.
  6. Some of his bad habits from Texas Tech are popping up again. Ugly footwork, leaving clean pockets, forcing the ball in situations that don't call for it. Bad habits are never truly gone, they are always there waiting to come back. You have to keep ahead of them constantly. That's what I love about Allen. He never stops working. I believe Mahomes may be mentally coasting a bit on all the success he has found early in his career. He needs to buckle down and get back to the basics and his coaches need to help him along. $500 million contract or not someone needs to be in his ear and tell him to cut the ****.
  7. That was posted a few weeks ago. His passer rating on the season now sits at 97.3. Over the last 3 games he's at 74.6... He is definitely in a slump right now. Pressing too hard and making bad decisions as a result.
  8. No AJ Brown, Julio Jones, Bud Dupree, or Caleb Farley. The Jets were able to sell out to stop Henry and Zach Wilson played his best game of the season.
  9. The Chiefs could sure use a lockdown #1 CB. I wonder if there was one in 2017 that they missed out on with that trade up?
  10. I knew his career was over when he ran out of bounds short of the line of scrimmage on a 4th down play last year. Teenagers playing Madden have more awareness than that. That isn't Adam Gase's fault. People act like if one part of the team is bad you can't judge the other parts. I hope the Dolphins use the same logic to keep Tua as their QB for the next couple years.
  11. Another blown up offseason narrative - Darnold was not bad just because of Adam Gase. He simply does not have the mental makeup needed to be a starting QB.
  12. Oh and I forgot to mention Mahomes being called "baby GOAT" and already being lumped in with Brady just 5 years into his career. He's obviously an incredible QB but he hadn't yet faced real adversity in his career until the Super Bowl last year. He has a lot of work to do if he wants to go down in history.
  13. This is what has bothered me about the Chiefs. Everyone has treated them like they are able to do no wrong and are the next Patriots 20 year dynasty. They draft a RB in the 1st round and the media is awed that they have added yet another offensive weapon because obviously defense doesn't matter anymore. They trade a 1st rounder to switch a RT to LT, again ignoring defense, and give $80 million to a guard. Again the story becomes "who will be able to stop the Chiefs this year?" Their bad drafting has caught up to them. Mahomes is not an unstoppable god.
  14. It is pretty much inarguable at this point. No o-lineman is responsible for 200 yards and a TD. Competent o-linemen are easier to find than superstar WRs.
  15. After being gifted a high 1st round pick by an inept franchise, they turned around and sent a gift of their own to the Eagles. Their current role in the NFL is giving bad teams confidence.
  16. Meh. The Titans aren't going undefeated the rest of the way. Eventually having no CBs or LT is going to lose them games. I genuinely think the Bills can go 10-1 the rest of the way. If we pull that off I can just about guarantee we will be the #1 seed.
  17. Mahomes has 9 interceptions this year which is tied with Zach Wilson for the most in the NFL. I think he has gotten away with too many ridiculous lucky catches over the last couple seasons and now he thinks he can get away with anything.
  18. People way overrated the Titans loss to the Jets. They were down Julio Jones and AJ Brown which made their offense completely one dimensional. Bud Dupree was still out too. The Titans may have the scariest offense in the NFL when everyone is healthy.
  19. It seems crazy to consider but the Chiefs could drop out of the playoff picture entirely... They have a brutal schedule coming up. After an easy one against the Giants next week they have Packers, Raiders, Cowboys, Broncos, Raiders, Chargers, Steelers. I could see them going 4-4 over that stretch which would leave them with a losing record heading into the final 2 games of the season against the Bengals and Broncos. Even with 3 wildcard teams I don't know if that will be enough.
  20. My brain is rooting for KC but my heart wants to see KC get stomped. This is the rare game where either outcome will make me happy.
  21. If you assume a 50% chance of winning any given playoff game, having 1 less game doubles your chances of winning the Super Bowl. I would say that is a pretty big deal.
  22. I expect the Bills will just roll with Sweeney and Morris while Knox heals. We have a bye week followed by an easy slate of games and a broken hand doesn't take too long to heal. No need to make a panic move. I would love to get a legit pass catching RB like Barkley or Sanders. That is the last piece this offense is missing to become unstoppable. Yeah our run blocking is mediocre but also our RBs are slow. Imagine our offense with RB swing passes and screens that have a chance of gaining good yardage. I'm meh on trading for a guard. Norwell isn't going anywhere, Urban Meyer coached him at Ohio State and loves him.
  23. I think just about all of the smoke comes from Houston which means I don't trust it. There's no reason for Miami to want these rumors to keep popping up. The players, Tua in particular, can see it. The fans can see it which gets their hopes (or disgust levels) up. It puts too much pressure on the organization. So I don't really believe that anyone in Miami has validated whatever source is putting this out there. I'm guessing Houston or maybe Watson's agent is pushing hard to make a team desperate enough to trade for him before the deadline.
  24. Top 5 grades: 1) Diggs (A-) 2) Allen (B+) 3) Hughes (B+) 4) Dawkins (B+) 5) Johnson (B+) Bottom 5 grades (worst to 5th worst): 1) Milano (C-) 2) Wallace (C) 3) Edmunds (C) 4) Singletary (C) 5) Poyer (C+)
