  1. Browns are starting Kizer and trying to trade Brock. A bit too soon for Kizer I think. He moved the ball but he was erratic with throws at times, and slides HEAD FIRST on runs. Browns fans are going to be giddy and scared at the same time this season.
  2. thanks dude. Jeffsmagic, you were freakin right. I've seen both games in entirety. He's ahead of schedule for KC. All the throws, pocket presence, toughness, and a good kind of COCKINESS that tells me he'll be able to handle the slings and arrows that an NFL QB is subject to. Chief concern was his ability to read NFL D and the complex play calling. Pre-season is vanilla D so he has no issues thus far. He's still locking onto his primary targets but he can find WRs on a broken play so he'll be alright. Trubinsky's ahead though in my eyes so they got picked at the right order. Give me your scouting evaluation again next year and I'll listen to ya.
  3. Where is the guy who started a thread about Mahomes back in January. I tried to look for his thread but can't find it. The kid is picking up NFL game faster than expected for sure. I've watched both pre-season games. Smith is still much better but this kid is an NFL QB.
  4. LOL. There goes Beaner's excuse for not tanking: "we signed Boldin!"
  5. Here's my preface: I know there's a lot of Peterman love out there after 2 pre-season games. There's a lot about his game I like - reads defenses well for a rook, very decisive, poise in the pocket, awesome quick release, and is a mobile QB. What I don't like - accuracy, flabby arm, and sliding head first on runs. I personally don't believe Peterman is ready to start in the NFL just yet. His weak passing arm will let defenders play closer to the line of scrimmage. And that will compress the space Shady likes to operate in. I'd prefer he learns nuances of NFL defenses and offenses first as a understudy for a year or so before stepping onto the field. And I don't want to pour gas on this burning Peterman love. That said... The following article indicates under Dennison, Peterman can succeed as a starter, at least to Trevor Siemian level in the NFL. There are similarities between Peterman and Siemian: quick processing of defenses. Both reads defenses fast fast decision making. You don't see them pet the ball back there. quick releases and quick passing. both have relatively weak arms for long throws. Quoting: Now this offense relies on "timing & anticipation" two things that Tyrod doesn't do well. Dennison has said that Tyrod needs to anticipate throws instead of throwing only when he sees it. If Dennison does NOT tailor his offense to Tyrod, then I see Tyrod failing. And Peterman succeeding. http://insidethepylon.com/nfl/teams-nfl/afc-west/denver-broncos/2016/10/11/denver-broncos-2016-passing-game-so-far/
  6. That's a very revealing comment about your intelligence. Too many table dives is my guess?
  7. Rams developing high tech shoe for Watkins. Got engineers working on it. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/sammy-watkins-la-rams-special-nike-shoe-trade-bills-jared-goff-quarterback/1hkg6hovefv8p143p7ojswsrx6

  9. Trading Tyrod will be proper definition of "tanking". But I don't know if there is much of a market for him. Who's going to give picks for him? Ravens? And what are they going to get in return? Sammy got a 2nd rounder. Darby an elite corner got 3rd rounder. This rookie GM is getting fleeced by old vets. Tyrod might get a 6th rounder. TT is a serviceable QB. Keep him to keep the seat warm until a franchise QB can be drafted and trained. But, anything's possible. He needs 2-3 seasons until he can become Kirk Cousins and that's his ceiling. There are good things about him I like. Not right now with that noodle arm. Show me he can drill the ball 30 yards downfield and hit a receiver in stride.
  10. It doesn't matter. Beane has a job waiting for him in Carolina. I'm sure he'll go sooner than later.
  11. Exactly. That's what confirms that report's suspicions. Beane and McD aren't sold on Matthews. It's likely a rental as Matthews will command a good change and Beane is concerned about managing cap. This trade was about the pick. And to get rid of a corner who didn't fit their scheme. And corners like Darby are hard to come by. Corners who can cover man to man well. See what Eagles' GM said in articles after the trade. Guys like Darby are rarer than elite WRs. That's why Cowherd was saying Eagles won this trade.
  12. Let me tell you this: Bills targeted Watkins 4 times in the first series and he caught 3. Eagles targeted Matthews in the first series and he caught 3 balls as well. A. Coincidence? B. Auditions? The answer is B. They do this all the time in NBA trade discussions.
  13. You articulated what they (MAY BE) trying to do better than they have (not that I accept every rationalization). And that gives me less faith that these guys are better communicators than prior administration. And communication was a major problem for the prior administration in creating and managing media and fan base relations and expectations. Part of being GM isn't just about finding talent. We've established that with Whaley's regime. Part of it is working with and managing people internally, AND externally. Beane and McDermott just haven't communicated well why these moves make sense leaving it to the fans to argue and make sense of. They forgot the other stake holders in this team. Yes they sold the trades to coaches. And to the Pegulas. And to the players. But what you see in all this fan reaction is, they haven't done a good job of selling to the fans and media. That's what you have with young green horn GMs. Whaley made this mistake. And Beane is making the same mistake. Which is disappointing because, unlike other GMs, Beane has a business education background. And that's what is quite damning. Must be a crap business school. Everyone makes mistakes. He made them with his first moves. It's fine. It's not fatal. I hope he learns from it. He's got next year's draft to get things right. People have short memory. It doesn't matter when you win. All is forgiven.
  14. Matthews is in a similar situation to Watkins. It's a contract year for him. Are Bills going to re-sign him? According to this report, Bills were interested in the pick, and not as much in Matthews. Yes they needed WR depth after Watkins departure. But are the Bills FO working on a long term extension for Matthews where as Rams FO has repeatedly said they made the trade because they want Watkins for long term. Where does Bills FO stand on Matthews long term? https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/platform/amp/2017/8/13/16140094/jordan-matthews-throw-in-eagles-bills-trade-contract-extension-philadelphia-ronald-darby-watkins So essentially, we traded Darby for a 3rd round pick and a 1 year rental on Matthews. Unless, our coaches and FO sees Matthews as a long term answer at slot. He has big numbers in the past three years and (they are similar to Watkins') to demand sizable contract: 225 passes for 2,673 yards and 19 scores So far, we haven't heard what the front office's plans are for Matthews.

  17. So people who love this trade will like this: Cowherd thinks Rams gave up too much for Sammy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5X-3KvmGGM But, he uses the same logic. 19. I'm with you on this brother. All of it.
  20. It's called a different perspective. You seem to rejoice in losing a player of Sammy's caliber for a backup corner. Is EJ Gaines talent level equal to Watkins? From what I've been reading, nobody PAID to have an opinion on NFL talent level thinks so. Yet I don't get why so many of you are happy to see him leave. He's a young talent who could have helped this team WIN in the future. He is a 1st round talent. We got back a 6th round talent for him. We lost. It seems professional writers and people on the other team thinks they won the trade. Let us flip the perspective for a second and answer me this: Would you welcome Julio Jones if Atlanta wants to trade him to us for EJ Gaines and a 2nd? Or Odell? Or Mike Evans?
  21. YES I agree cornerblitz. That's the same point I made in the other thread. And I am accused of TROLLING.
  22. If you are a true fan you'd care that your team got worse. Read what the man said:
