I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
GoBills808 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I always appreciated diggs the player Thru 3 games I may have not appreciated the effect to which Diggs the person negatively impacted the offense I just typically don't put as much stock in unquantifiable things like chemistry as I do in talent and production is all -

I think there's a legitimate argument to be made that the chemistry is this particular group shouldn't be messed with I also believe talent>scheme is an NFL truism It's going to be a very interesting year watching this offense -

because WR is an important position, and a QB like Allen has a multiplier effect on offensive weapons you think this is settled, so be it. don't reply then -

no doubt it's a pretty unlucky (lucky for us) defensive playcall...no offense to coleman. from the looks of their interior at snap they were expecting run and bit on the playaction but i mean you cant play a man cover1 like that if your DEs are going to pattycake w 190lb rbs literally either guy is wide open for a td there lack of effort imo -

it's just a poor grasp of causality the existence of an elite wideout on a bad team isn't proof elite wideouts cause poor records any more than the existence of a firetruck at a burning house is proof firemen cause fires -

You clearly don't get it What you are proposing is that having a top WR somehow makes teams less successful Which is nonsense -

that's the takeaway if you want to defend the narrative the real concept is that teams w mahomes/reid and brady/belichick do better than other teams. the fact that both had HOF tight ends is interesting but im not sure it's relevant...the fact that at various points they were successful w/out star WRs is however almost certainly irrelevant -
If you could get a day 2 pick for Cook would you pull the trigger…

Yes of course still -

Exactly There aren't any victory laps available yet, it's too early and the gameflow hasn't been representative I mean I could drag up my prediction of this being a 10-15ish offense and here we stand at 13th but would that really mean anything 😂😂 -

So i think this is why it's early to start really evaluating the offense as a whole Imo our scoring output is inflated wrt our yards generated which is not unusual in a small sample Just need more games to come to a determination -

yup proves 3 things for me 1- route design is tailored to generate YAC 2- davis+diggs were borderline useless in general after catch 3- allen is dealing unconscious rn -
Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
GoBills808 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
there are a couple reasons for the Chiefs' struggles on offense thus far but Mahomes' poor (for him) play is the driving factor. Once he cleans it up they will be fine and that's scary considering -

It's just as disingenuous to say that because their yardage is low the group is actually good lol the correct answer we've been in two blowouts that have likely depressed receiving yardage. however, it's also very valid to have sustainability concerns of a top scoring offense supported by middle of the pack yardage production -
I care inasmuch as think it's interesting you don't believe Allen when he says he isn't talking about Diggs Because i don't think they particularly care about Diggs anymore as he's no longer on the team You seem to believe otherwise and I'm trying to understand why
-
it was a little clip the media loved because it generated some controversy allen said he wasnt talking about diggs i didnt think he was talking about diggs you said he was 'passively aggressively undressing him' lol so i ask again why do you care
-

Correct answer

i went into this season thinking the offense would be in trouble. through three games i am way more optimistic than before w two caveats- i am not convinced we've played a decent defense yet i think our run game is still kind of built to succeed when things are easy outside that my biggest takeaways are 1 davis+diggs were just as bad a fit for allen as i thought and 2 allen is even better than i realized. props to brady for putting the puzzle together nicely
