Owners put the league ahead of the game. They have it in their mind if every year there's a Jordan, people will watch. Result has been loosing 600,000 viewers a month. No one wants to watch girly men win a superbowl by rubbing their jersey and play guess the WR. Who cares if you are the greatest of all time, if the game's a shell of itself. More yellow flags and pink shoes on the field than green grass and leather.

I hope he never gets benched. Always competitive, always went at it. Very professional and treated the game and Buffalo with much respect. Win or loose he will always be a Bill and I will have good memories of him.

AJ Green, Gino Atkins, Giovanni Bernard, and yes even Andy Dalton vs Sammy Watkins, Marcel Dareus, CJ Spiller and EJ Manuel The Bengals built a playoff team with less draft picks. -
Is this the new "normal" for Dareus

SEC schools recruit older kids. They peak in college while others peak with in the pros with coaches who actually know how to play football and have the resources they need. No distractions. No school. No family. No draft. No excuses. They also overdraft and bench talent so other schools cannot pick them up. Get on the travel squad, life long dream is accomplished. Get passed over in the draft, you've got motivation and willing to do what it takes. -

Shed the blocker, get to the ball is always the rule. No excuse. -
Matthews: Blame Tyrod if you must.

TT does have a great deep ball. Those are low percentage plays. What the Bills need are completions. Accurate seams and anticipatory throws. 7 to 10 yards down the field. Those would be big. There's two big flaws to TT's game, which cannot be fixed: - He's short, and can't see over his line. Not only can he see his receivers, but he always has to be in the shotgun, never under center, forcing the silent snap count on the road which ruins his oline and run game - His platform is never consistent because he's always looking to run. Every throw is a brand new pass, and will never be consistently accurate. -
Newton was incredible. That pass on the first drive between three defenders was very good. He's very fast in his progressions and often beats his receivers. The Bills just kept everything in front of them and rushed the passer. When it got in the redzone it got tight. Game easily could have been 21-3. McCaffrey sucks. At Stanford he was bigger and faster than everyone, but in the NFL he's small and slow.

What's going on with ESPN and the NFL?

My district closed down about a dozen schools because they speak 30 different languages, and need 30 different interpreters. All the houses around the schools dropped it property value, and people moved out. Now they are condemned and I fight off mice in my house. I saw one of them burn down. Not exactly a cloud. -
The best signs (MHO) from Sunday's game
rant_and_go replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. Also it's a very underrated defense in general. Sky coverage until they get inside the 20. Then rotate down and do your blitz. It allows your front four to run slants and stunts, and puts a lot of pressure on the offense to run 10 to 15 plays perfectly. -
A few thought about the Jets game. In no particular order

I was down on the staff in preseason, but Bills looked great. Tyrod looks better, and a lot less penalties. They are very versatile, and will get better as the season goes. Really excited about week 2. -
I'll say the opposite. Look to pass, then checkdown to McCoy in flat, or draw to McCoy in flat, or QB draw. Look deep, then maybe a curl or quick hitch, then handoff. Pass sets up run.

So how much did Gillislee help the Pats*** last night?
rant_and_go replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pats oline has problems. Looks like over coaching. All chop blocks and holds, a ton of penalties if the refs called the game straight. KC really beat them bad. They had the better plays. A great inside slant game to get them to crowd the box, then went deep with Hill and RBs out the back field to take the top off. Pats once again tried to game the system. Hitting the punter back to back trying to get a better return was really low brow. Same tea-bagging Kelce, and Hogan running down the field with his arm around the defender trying to call a penalty. They really did ruin the game. All the rating losses are on them. Brady looks yellow, like his liver is failing. -
Gilmore is let off for covering air, and letting their best player run down the field? Vets with his pay should make plays, even if it's not his assignment. Sell out and win instead of making excuses and cashing a paycheck. Loser talk -> They scored a 70 yard touchdown but I did my job It's still a loss letting him walk. Getting him to give more effort is a lot easier than firing everyone and changing everything.

What would the Bills have to do against the Jets....
rant_and_go replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everyone thought the Bills were good after that win. It was all a win in Miami next week then a showdown in Buffalo with the Pats for the division. Jets dink and dunk all day to 24 points. First year coaching, penalties, and an offense that doesn't fit the QB will be lucky to score 6. Sunday could easily be an awful day for Bills fans. -
Michael Bennett suing Las Vegas police department

A sane society would destroy dangerous people who care only about themselves. Criminals get to play king. Everyone else has to clean up the mess. Criminals get to do whatever they want. We have to live in the prison. The police protect criminals more than society. If the police were not there, criminals would be gone, because they are exhausting, people are already tired of them, and people would kill them. Not too long ago, great societies that lasted longer than America had laws regarding this very thing. They didn't legalize shooting criminals. They punished you if you didn't shoot and beat criminals enough! -

Also he just happens to be dressed up in blue flannel, the color of the Crips... At the Floyd Mayweather "fight"... ... spending millions from a job that employed Aaron Hernandez, Ray Carruth and OJ. All fake posers who've been pampered all their lives. Got a taste of violence huh Bennet? Pretty disgusting. So stop glorifying it. You're just a spoiled brat. Killing people is not for you. -

The RInger Pre-season Power Rankings..... 31!!!!!
rant_and_go replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dennison's first change was to completley change the running game, the only thing that was good last year. I don't remember anyone saying that was good for Taylor. Also Dennison is all short passing in the middle of the field, something Tyrod has never done, because he's short. Last year, the offense was good by running the ball with McCoy and Tyrod, then throwing it deep when defenses tried to stop it. This year it's the exact opposite. Tyrod being knocked out in a vanilla offense against a vanilla defense is proof enough that it's not going to work with him. -

Firing everyone gives the regime job security. It's okay if they suck for 2 years instead of 1. -
Those are really hard passes to make. If you're going to give something up, give up those. In the crucial losses last year, I don't remember those plays being a problem. I remember getting killed by the deep ball and giving up a lot of rushing yards. Jauron defenses I remember being weak against power run. Large running lanes. My theory is Bills home field masks a lot of defensive problems because it's so loud and people forget. It explains why the run D sucks on the road.

What REALLY will the Bills strategy on offense be?
rant_and_go replied to mjd1001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
D will keep putting 7 or 8 in the box, and force all the WRs to the sidelines. Middle of the field will be wide open until Tyrod can hit it and make people pay. Throwing to running backs requires a very accurate QB. Too many people at the edge, and RBs don't have the hands of WRs. Plus all D is there already. They could run Tyrod up the middle but he'll get killed. Also you loose all the protections in the modern NFL, PI and hitting the QB late.
