I don't think it does. Other NFL teams have bad receivers, or a poor line, or no running game, or a combination of those things, and none of them are even remotely close to as bad as us when it comes to throwing the football.
-
Our running game and OL are not the reason we're throwing for an NFL worst 129 yards per game. Our passing game is horrible because our QBs are terrible at throwing the football.
-
Why would we ever trade for a guy who has clearly proven he can't stay healthy and is never on the field?
-
I think McDermott is a really good defensive coordinator. The frequency that his teams get blown out is a major concern and reminiscent of Chan Gailey. I have no faith in Beane. His selection of Josh Allen sealed it for me.
-
41 - 10 for New England.
-
The Bills are averaging under 12 points per game. Our offensive is absolutely pathetic.
-
The fact that the offense has no talent is largely his fault. They didn't have to trade away Watkins, Taylor and Glenn and make no attempt to re sign either Woods or Goodwin. McDermott hired an awful OC last year, and appears to have hired an awful OC this year. Does anyone really think he's going to change his approach and get the next hire right?
-
Almost a year and a half on the job and no one knows what McDermott wants. All he talks about is running the ball and playing defense, as if that's how you win in the NFL these days. You win in the modern NFL by scoring points. Lots of points. All of the top teams right now have forward thinking progressive coaches who are trying to innovate. Who knows what we're trying to do, and that's a problem. We're scoring less than 12 points a game which is unheard of in the modern NFL.

Someone needs to be fired over Mahomes right now.

It's so sad when the only thing people have to hang their hat on that we didn't get completely fleeced in this trade is that Mahomes MIGHT not keep up his play. As you said, if he regresses slightly, he's still a top 5 QB. Everyone seems convinced that Allen will progress. I don't understand why he's immune from regression as well, similar to EJ Manuel who wasn't completely awful as a rookie and was a complete dumpster fire at QB his 2nd season. Some people are convinced Allen will be FINE. What if he gets worse? Why do we have to tear down the amazing things other players around the league are doing in an attempt to not make our players look like complete garbage? -
The number of blowout losses under McBean is astounding

The Bills plan under McDermott is to play football like it's 1985. Run the ball, play special teams and hold the opposition to field goals. There is nothing forward thinking about his approach at all, which is concerning when you look around the league and see that all of the best teams have progressive coaches who are constantly trying to innovate what they do. -

Agreed. Mahomes was better than Allen as a prospect in every category. Makes zero sense to pass on the big, strong, athletic QB with a rocket arm who threw for a million yards in college and come right back the next year and take the big, strong, athletic QB with a rocket arm who was a middle of the road QB in the Mountain West Conference. Absolutely mind boggling. -
Our passing offense is non existent. With all of the turnovers we'd be better off never throwing the football. Just go sign a college option QB and run the ball 50 times a game.

The issue is that this team doesn't appear to have any direction. Like what's the plan? We're trying to run the ball and win the turnover battle and win close games like it's 1995. There is zero innovation on either side of the football and our offense for two years has looked like it's straight out of the stone age of professional football. Our passing game is essentially non existent which is just mind boggling given how the rules are set up these days. Throw in McDermott's lack of understanding percentages in certain situations on 4th down and his misuse of timeouts and we appear to be hitched to a coach who isn't going to take us to the promise land. In the NFL in 2018 you need forward thinking, progressive coaches who are trying to push the envelope with their innovation. Through two years with McDermott we haven't seen any of that. -

Next week is going to be really interesting if (when) we get blown out by the Pats in prime time. The local media is clearly turning on the coach. Will be interesting to see how he responds. -

They're definitely trending in the wrong direction. The offense is a dumpster fire, and they've shown no ability whatsoever that suggests they know how to develop a QB. Monday night might be a real disaster. If we get obliterated on the National Stage his seat should start warming up. -

We have the worst QB situation in the league. I dunno what you're looking for. Our 1st round pick has been really bad so far, and the other guys haven't looked like they belong on an NFL roster. How we got to this point is hard to comprehend. -

I never said putting in a veteran would make things better. Our offense is a joke. Doesn't matter if Peterman, Allen or Anderson are on the field, that side of the ball has been a complete joke all season. -
What's the point. We're sold off all our best parts already and replaced them with worse players across the board. No point in acquiring draft picks. Our GM doesn't know how to use them.

Because the defense, special teams and offensive line aren't bad. We're a decent QB away from having a really good team. -

You're comparing Allen to a guy signed off the street a week and a half ago. And the offense production was no better. This offense is a dumpster fire. Our QBs are all horrible. -

McDermott and Beane need to be on the hot seat. These blow out performances and inability to score 7 points on a weekly basis are completely unacceptable. The Bills are averaging under 8 points per game over their last four games. UNBELIEVABLE -

Because that's worked so well for us over the past 18 months... The problem is that all the guys they trade they replace with inferior players. We don't have any talent. -

This is a Chip Kelly/Josh McDaniels type situation. Young coaches who insist on having their guys, who for the most part aren't good enough. We just don't have the talent needed to compete at the NFL level. Our offensive depth chart is simply pathetic. -

Nope. He is what he is. He's a career backup who has started 3 games in 8 years, who was just signed off his couch two weeks ago. This is exactly what anyone should have expected from a QB like that against an NFL calibre defense. The blame squarely lies with the Front Office that is 100% responsible for this terrible offense due to their mismanagement of the QB spot.
