  1. I looked it up, and as usual there's nothing remotely factual about your claim. The Bills pass catchers as a team officially have 15 drops the entire season.
  2. Why do you continue to ignore that every QB in the NFL has receivers who drop the ball?
  3. I think the low completion percentage is a product of a couple missed dump offs each game. He had 3-4 easy throws on Sunday that his receivers couldn't catch because the ball was poorly thrown. Complete those gimmes and his completion percentage would be above 60%. It's an issue Allen has always had; making the impossible throws but missing a couple gimme throws every game.
  4. Sure. That doesn't change anything I said.
  5. It's way too early to say where we'll go. The FA Class of wide receivers is terrible, and we desperately need a #1 WR. I think they fix the line in FA, but past that it's hard to see a bigger need than an elite play maker on the outside.
  6. Allen is still the same guy he was at Wyoming in terms of pros and cons. Huge arm, elite mobility, elite strength and size makes him tough to tackle, but he misses easy throws, forces too many passes into dangerous situations and doesn't complete enough passes.
  7. Alexander isn't on the field for passing downs. When the opposition passes, we're in Nickel with Raphael Bush playing a lot of snaps lately.
  8. Maybe. He reminds me a lot of Corderelle Patterson. Big, strong, going to blow up the combine, but not an accomplished route runner and he'll have trouble gaining separation at the NFL level. I think his upside is as a really good #2 guy who stretches the field, but not sure he's got the polish to be a #1 guy. Whatever happens there are going to be tons of options available. This is a great year to need a WR.
  9. I think he's overrated. More of a physical freak than an accomplished wide receiver. I need to watch more but very few people have him in the first round like alone the top 5. Harry, Brown and Harmon are all rated as top 10 players on some big boards. This draft is loaded at WR. He seems really raw. Good athlete but I'm not totally sure. Haven't watched much of him this year and there's very little video available online. Seems like he probably benefited a lot from having Brown on the field with him.
  10. Good analysis. The second clip I think he has wrong though. Allen looks left, but comes off it. I think he's air mailed it to McKenzie and Foster just happens to be behind him. I just said the same thing. He completely misses McKenzie by about 8 feet. Foster just happened to be behind him.
  11. For sure. I'm critical but the Bills have to build around him and go all in on helping him with better personnel this offseason. Some of his play is reminiscent of JP Losman though, where he'd drop 2 bombs in the first half and get us out to a lead, only to watch it wilt away in the 2nd half because he couldn't complete the passes that keep the chains (and clock) moving. (Even with Allen's struggles passing I think he's a much better prospect than Losman ever was).
  12. Sure. That was obviously a crucial play yesterday. I just try to switch things around. If it was Leonard Williams running full bore at Josh Allen who is looking to make a game tying throw, does Williams go for the kill shot? I 100% think he does, and our rookie LB instead opted to audition to be a matador.
  13. The question becomes will this actually change if Allen improves, or is McDermott just wired this way permanently. Based off how he talks about running the ball, controlling the clock and establishing the line of scrimmage, I think what you see is what you're always going to get. The Bills played the whole second half as if they were just bleeding the clock waiting for it to expire, holding onto a 20-13 lead. Unless you're defense can rush the passer and defend a one dimensional passing attack (we got zero pressure on Darnold yesterday), I think this strategy is destined to fail.
  14. The Jets beat the crap out of Allen all day. I was really disappointed when Edmunds had Darnold lined up for a kill shot on the game tying TD that made it 20-20 and chose not to take it. He had Darnold dead to rights and just ran past him without making any contact. It probably would have been a penalty, but the Jets defenders took every shot they could get on Allen drawing multiple flags along the way. Edmunds should have been aware of how the game was going and taken out a rival QB who now knows Edmunds won't lay him out in the future.
  15. I was at the game. His protection wasn't good, his receivers dropped a couple passes, but he also left several throws on the field with poorly thrown balls that weren't catchable or missed targets that were wide open downfield. My biggest issue with Allen at this point is that he struggles so badly to throw with touch. His fastball is great, but anytime he doesn't have to drive the ball, he's throwing high or hitting his receivers in the ankles. There was a simple out to Thompson yesterday near the end of the first half. Thompson breaks out and Allen throws it out of his reach and into the turf even though he's wide open and probably moves the chains. There were a few simple dump offs to his running backs where he's hitting them in the ankles. I get that Allen can make the crazy throws, but he needs to get a lot better at making the easy ones. This goes back to when he was at Wyoming where he has an easy dump off and he throws it where his guy can't catch it. Those throws are the difference between being a 52% passer and being a 60% passer with a QB Rating above 80. Start completing those, and the completion percentage, YPA and overall efficiency all get better.
  16. Excuses aren't going to help him. He has opportunities to make plays and he misses too many easy throws. He needs to clean those up if he's going to last as a starting QB in the NFL. This year he hasn't shown much as a passer. He's a good thrower who makes some amazing throws, but manipulating coverages with the ball and putting the ball in positions where his guys can easily run after the catch hasn't been consistent. Next year he'll have a better supporting cast. I think he needs to get his QB Rating up into the high 80s. If he can't do that then we should be considering other options for 2020 and beginning to think about hedging at the QB position by bringing in other options. 2019 will be a make or break year for Allen, and likely the FO and Coaching Staff.
  17. It won't be that hard. We need a #1 guy, and a #4 guy. Foster can play, and Jones is fine in the slot. Those two guys are back next year. I agree wide receivers bust frequently, but if there's a year to need a WR this looks like one of the better classes to come around over the past 4-5 years.
  18. I think it's way too early to say that. This draft is loaded with wide receivers and some of them are going to move up the draft board after the offseason evaluation process gets underway. I can't see us draft a LT with a top 10 pick. I think they like Dawkins in that spot.
  19. Draft: WR, C, RB, RT Sign: LG, RG, DE
  20. I think the Bills have to get Allen a premier WR with their 1st round pick. OL upgrades should come through free agency, and some of our other draft picks.
  21. Fair enough. Julio has been on a fantasy team of mine for years in a keeper league. He's always nursing some sort of lower body injury and has had ongoing problems with his foot. As he gets older my fear is that he loses a step, and you don't know when that will happen. Father time catches up with everyone, and I don't think Jones is a player who makes us a Super Bowl contender. This draft class looks like it's completely loaded at WR. My preference would be to draft a 21-22 year old kid with 10+ years left than a 30 year old guy with a long history of nagging lower body injuries who only has a few good years left. I wouldn't be upset if we added Jones, but as you said earlier, with how many holes we have I think we need to bank all our draft picks this year by using them on young players who can fill holes, rather than trading away multiple picks for a player who can help immediately.
  22. My bad - I interpreted "low round" as late round picks. I'm not giving that up for a guy who will play 2-3 more years at this level. You make that trade if you're a 7 or 8 win team trying to get over the hump. The Bills have traded away too many picks over the past 2 years and I'd rather see us stockpile picks. Up until now they've valued quality over quantity, but I'd take a different approach this year. We have our building blocks, time to build out the roster.
  23. Fully agree. It was an opportunity to send a message and Edmunds too a hard pass.
  24. I'm expecting the guy to start on day 1 so I'd rather have the #1 guy at his position. Just my preference though. Not sure the #5 guy is stepping on the field day one.
  25. I think it costs a lot more than that. If Amari Cooper is worth a 1st round pick, Julio even at age 30 is worth the same.
