  1. Yes of course we are t like each other and that's fine ... we don't have to agree. We can agree to disagree which is just fine by me. It's irregular because it's not a job typically taken for money....it's a job taken for the love of the game. Any job that's done for love first and not living is 'irregular'. Do you talk on the Foot Locker message boards about your local Mall shoe store and the kid who lost his job there?
  2. Celebrate is a strong word. I think people that are doing a bad job and not producing results deserve to be fired. Don't you? Government waste....I cheer when they lose their jobs. How about airline safety workers who have screwed up. Are you crying for them Argentina when they get canned? But don't worry about the scouts. They'll get another job. It's ok. Let's not start with all these crocodile tears.
  3. No, scouts aren't 'regular people'. They don't work on a line or in a mall or in a cubicle. They have a tough job but they go into it for love, not money. Most of us aren't so lucky. And there is an opportunity for them to make EXCELLENT money...so let's not pretend like they are poor Al Bundy like schnooks. Yeah it's a tough job when you have a family...we'll go find another job teaching public school. I travel 120 days a year and that's tough on a family. You make it work. If I wasn't great at my job I don't expect random strangers to feel for me when I get shown the door. And so, when a scouts responsibility for my favourite team isn't doing a good job, and it seems like hasn't been doing that great a job for a long time, I'm not going to mourn their exit when they all get shitcanned. Scouts are important - I think way more important than anyone gives credit for....and if they don't get the job done...time to hit the bricks.
  4. A household income of $100k puts them in the 80th%ile. Even these guys who make 60k are making twice the median income in the city. So I might have been exaggerating a bit without looking at the stats. Definitely 99%ile of the world, though.... Anyways. I've never been an empathetic person. Occasional sympathy but That's rare too.
  5. I don't see these people as 'regular people' despite their salary. But I guess it doesn't matter. Personally I don't care when random people lose their jobs unless they are my friend or family. But I guess that is what makes different folks stroke. I have no compassion for them - they have it better than 99% of the world and 95% of all Americans.
  6. I don't know about 'celebrate'. If you say 'good...they cleaned house...maybe we can get some quality scouts in there'. What's wrong with that? I don't see anyone throwing **** at their homes or teasing their kids. Being an NFL scout, even a low level scout, is a dream job for some I'm sure. If they are good they will remain or find other work. If not, they won't. I don't empathize with people who have lost a decent job - because it won't accomplish anything. I celebrate those who are successful. Maybe I'm just a prick.
  7. To play Devils advocate on this defensefest. Would it matter if your DIDN'T know them? Like, you know, how most of us don't know the. They are just nameless faceless people who have perhaps not done the best job scouting for our team? Weak analogy but .... When a failed government agency shutters an office because it was wasting cash - do you not think to yourself "good?" How is it any different when we root for coaches to be sacked or QBs to be replaced? Because they make more money? If they aren't any good at their jobs or their performance is tied to that of a group...way it goes. That's a right to work economy. Celebrate it. Or don't.
  8. Back in the day there was some question as to who was responsible for the Buddy/Whaley draft. I've seen both sides make an argument and I'm not sure which is the salient response. My question is - who's was the 2017 draft? Is it a McDermott or McD/Whaley, or???
  9. It's the ridiculous BBMB negative Nancies permeating this board. My god such losers. There were always a few here but BBMB was jammed with them. And now they are taking over. Schedule related - meh...looks interesting. Happy about no Monday night game. Love all the 1pm starts. Denver home game is circled on my calendar to attend. Love the division games to close the season.
  10. Nonsense. They have 'owned' several of the last decade of drafts. Didn't accomplish jack. I for one am not at all worried about the Browns outdoing the Bills.
  11. Say what you want but the Bills at least never drafted a Murderer... /sarcasm On a side note: sure fire sign of a 4th round bust. Makes Ko Simpson look like Eric Woodson
  12. I think for Lent you should give up your common sense. Let someone else have it, for God's Sake.
  13. 1. Mike Williams : Arizona 2. Corey Davis : LA Rams 3. Malik Hooker : Tennessee Titans 4. OJ Howard : Jacksonville Jags 5 Mitchell Trubisky : Washington Redskins Bills Pick (bonus) : Jamal Adams
  14. Already the Pats drafted Kelly and he's won the Super Bowl. I thought BBMB closed?
  15. Amazingly Uber is a huge financial mess. Losing billions. It's an amazing service. Amazon lost money for almost 2 decades before it finally turned a profit ...I'm sure Uber will have A similar fate.
  16. I used Uber in Manila 2 years ago. Buffalo is just getting it?
  17. How many QBs shoukd we have? We know we can only start one. You'll never know how they are until they play. Develop them till the cows come home - till they start a game or a season you have no idea what you have. Having Trubisky and Kelly and Cardale sitting behind TT isn't a luxury...it's a waste of roster spots.
  18. I think the Bus was close to this weight? With freakish speed
  19. 2nd round ok but he won't be BPA at 10
