Well, I think the Patriots are currently the best team in the NFL. That can change as I don't think they are as dominant as, say, the Chiefs have been in other seasons, but many of the contenders are playing inconsistent football. They are a very consistent, technically sound team with good coaching. And they have a fair bit of cap room for next season. And I feel sad saying this, but Maye looked amazing tonight. Yes, it's the Giants, but his mechanics may be the best I've seen from a QB on the field this season. He is so technically sound with his footwork, his downfield vision, etc. I was impressed. I hope it's not true, but the Pats look like another dynasty is on the horizon. None of the above, however, means we can't beat them in two weeks! We will just need to play well and get some breaks.

An unbelievably bad game by that officiating crew. They need to be replaced. On the bright side, I think Denver is very overrated. I don't see them as SB worthy.

Well, I'm feeling fairly convinced at this point that we will lose this week and next. So it comes down to whether we can run the table for the last 3 games.

Yep, I could easily see both the Colts and Jags falling out of playoff contention. Jags still have to play the Texans, Broncos, and Colts twice, and the Colts schedule is one of the hardest left in the league - Jags, Seahawks, 49ers, Jags, and Texans. The Colts could easily go 1-4 to end the season.

Haha, yeah, my mistake. We are away for the Steelers. For some reason I had it fixed in my head that this next one was home - wishful thinking? Ok, I'm feeling worse now. 🤪

The Steelers game is really the one we need to win. It's at home, and I do believe we can beat the Jets and Browns. The Bengals and Patriots are a toss-up, and until the Eagles laid an egg yesterday I had assumed that was going to be a loss. I've been thinking that would be the case for several games this year, and then the Bills end up winning them. So, I really have no idea, but I do know being at home should be helpful in this one.

I do feel very envious of the Rams when I watch them. Having Davante Adams as a #2 receiver is an amazing luxury for Stafford. Hope Allen gets a receiving corps like that before he retires.

Yeah, I'm feeling better after seeing the Colts still have to play the Jags and Texans twice. Those AFC South teams are going to be eating into each other's win columns. Good for the rest of us. A win against the Steelers next week will put us in good shape.

There is some good news. I checked the schedule and the Colts still have to play the Jags and Texans twice, as well as the 49ers and Seahawks. That's a tough schedule, but also evidence those teams will be beating each other up. Hard to see all three teams making the playoffs in the AFC South.

The Jags victory today was painful, and, as others have mentioned, we have to beat the Steelers at home next week. And the Steelers also need a victory badly. It's not going to be easy with the way our team has been playing. I'm not even sure if 4-2 the rest of the way will get us to the playoffs, but we at least need to do that to have a chance.

It has been less fun than usual this year, that's for sure. Reminds me a bit of the year we had to win out to feel confident about making the playoffs. A lot of weakneses on the team, and Allen isn't getting any younger. I'm starting to think that Beane will turn Allen into another Dan Marino, minus the Superbowl appearance.

Yeah, Goff looked absurdly slow back there in the pocket tonight, and missed a lot of throws he should have made regardless of the pressure and wind. It reminded me of how Allen would have likely been able to keep plays going with his feet, although I wish he had some of the weapons that the Lions have on O. If he feels any pressure, Goff becomes very average at QB. Hopefully we can get some pressure on Hurts and stop the run by the time we play the Eagles.

And there's our new guy. Guess we didn't realize Hill meant he'd cost the Bills like this.

Well, and the defense too. Sheesh, they can just call all running plays the rest of the game, apparently.

Yes, those 3 plays were all misses by Josh. 1st play was partially Samuel's fault on the busted play, but he missed Shakir completely on 2nd down, and then he throws into the worst coverage on 4th down. I think the swing guy was open for at least 2 yards - Samuel?

And Josh isn't playing well. That drive and INT are all on him.

Bucs already have 111 yards rushing. Sigh.

He didn't have a good game, but we are still 6-3 this year. The question is why? What are team defenses doing to get Josh off his game? In the losses this year, Josh has unsurprisingly looked a bit lost. Is he having to wait for receivers to get open and that is making him jumpy in the pocket? I do think that is part of it, but I also think our lack of weapons at WR is helping opposing teams keep more folks in the box to prevent Josh from running as much.

Well, I think we had better receivers last year. Largely, that's because of all the injuries this year. Cooper could at least good draw some attention away from Shakir and the TEs at times. I'm not sure what scheme to run with this limited group, but we need to change things up because opposing defenses are scheming against our fairly obvious gameplan. At the end of the day, we are still 6-3, but we need to prove we are a playoff team by winning at least 3 out of the next 4 games.

The Steelers have a different problem. Metcalf is one of the best receivers in the NFL, and the Chargers had one safety always drifting to Metcalf's side the entire game. Couple that with aged Rodgers not being able to deal with (e.g., elude) the extra pressure last night, and a few drops by the other receivers and you have problems. Rodgers also missed quite a few throws last night. But, we don't have anyone close to Metcalf's level on our squad. And, let's be realistic here, Coleman would be nothing more than a backup on the Steelers.

Quite possible, but the receiver was completely blanketed and we aren't sure where the receiver was supposed to ultimately go. That said, it's typical of Josh's poor games. When the run game is stuffed, opposing teams just don't fear our current receiving group. There isn't a lot of room in there for Josh to place the ball and he starts making questionable decisions. It is undoubtedly the worst receiving group in the NFL at the moment.

It's an avalanche effect - receivers not getting open leads to Allen holding onto the ball too long and makes him jumpy back there. Stop our run game, and most teams just aren't fearing our pass game at the moment. Where's the deep threat with Palmer and Samuel out? And now Kincaid is likely out for a week or two. Not good. Regarding the original post, I think, especially given the injuries, the receivers are more to blame than Brady, but Brady needs to try and find an answer. Even on the INT in the endzone, the Bills receiver was completely covered. Josh shouldn't have forced it in there, but given how easily our receivers are being blanketed he needs to try and force some action sometimes. But, the receivers are really bad, and Keon isn't an NFL caliber receiver. He just doesn't have the athleticism from what I see. Beane whiffed there.

Bigger than all the issues at the moment are injuries. I just can't believe how many starters we will be down after this game. Kincaid out with a hamstring injury, and Jackson down for the count. Who the heck can Josh throw to out there? It's no wonder the pundits after the game were commenting about how Josh was having to find ways to buy time for his receivers to get open today. They are just not able to separate consistently enough.

Yes, the Pats have too easy a schedule and this is another loss we couldn't afford. The good news is the Pats will have to play all the tough games next year as the division winner.

I mean, they just don't have any talent at receiver. None. It's all about Cook and the TEs. It's not working today.
