The fact that it goes through the front and back door suggests to me it's temporary. He has a lot of switches so my guess is he can disconnect the outside track, close the doors and run his trains on indoor loops. I also think this is a December thing for him. I'm not an autograph person but if I was any of the Hansons (was Dave the one with the glasses?) would be a prized possession. In my formative years I went to the local mall and waited forever for Tug McGraw to barely acknowledge me, scribble his name on a piece of paper and send me on my way. Maybe that's why I'm not an autograph guy. Many many years later I had the opportunity to high five Mr. Met on the way to our seats at Shea. When I relayed this to a friend who arrived a few minutes later he just shook his head at me and showed me the scorebook he had just gotten signed by Mr. Met.

Not sure if you're as clever as you think. A late card is often obvious. Sounds more like planned obsolescence on your part. You seriously don't have people you want to send a Xmas card to? But you feel obligated anyway? Perhaps I've misinterpreted your comments, but why bother sending any if you only send when you receive? With that said, we employ your base strategy on a limited basis. Every year we identify potential drop-offs, one or two at most that we wait until we receive a card before sending and otherwise they get dropped. People we've fallen out of touch with or didn't get a card from the previous year (usually one and the same).

How the f**k should I know? That's wifey's domain I look forward to seeing them every year, but it's not a keepsake to me. She probably sends them to the street along with the tree when we tear it all down. But if she doesn't, I wouldn't know.

Pretty much where I'm at. I assume the contract is structured so we can cut ties if and when there's an upgrade we prefer. In a perfect world Barkley collects his paycheck holding a clipboard for two years.

I honestly don't know much about either. Harvey will get paid more than Familia next year. Meanwhile Andrew Miller gets $12.5 for two years and either $12 or a $2.5 buyout for the third. Would the Mets have been better off going for that or Familia's $30 over 3? Tough call. I was hoping to still get Miller after Familia signed. Yeah, I know, wishful thinking.
