  1. It depends on which you think is more important: winning an individual contest or winning a championship. Players and coaches tend to focus on the former, because that's their job. GMs and owners should be focused on the latter. The fact is that Houston voluntarily gave away something of great value yesterday, in exchange for being able to say that they won three games instead of two. That's a pretty terrible tradeoff.
  2. He's been a solid contributor to the return game ever since he arrived in Buffalo. Setting aside yesterday's performance, if all he does is return kicks competently, that's fine with me. We don't need another RB right now, but it's great to have somebody playing ST who I trust more than McKenzie.
  3. Shakir in particular seems to have some YAC potential that our offense could really use. He had a nice slippery move to gain extra yardage yesterday on a play that I think got called back.
  4. The Chiefs have at least as strong a claim to the #1 seed as the Bills or Bengals. They won more games than either of those teams, and it's not their fault that the Monday night game didn't get played. A week ago, everybody was saying that the outcome of a football game wasn't all that important. Okay, fine. So let's stick with that and not get hung up on a good-enough resolution to a problem that had no perfect solution.
  5. Yeah I'm not taking the Dolphins lightly but no way is this game a coin flip lol.
  6. I DGAF about any of the NFC teams. But I imagine a long-suffering Lions fan who has to sweat this game to even know if his own game matters, and then having to sweat that game against a team that needs it just as bad, a division rival to boot. How great will that guy's Monday morning be if this all comes together? So I want LAR. Come on, Lions.
  7. There were obviously lots of negatives on Allen's college film, but his ability to extend plays absolutely stood out. His college line was such trash.
  8. With the shine coming off guys like Staley and McDaniel, maybe an older steadier-hand like Frazier will get a more serious look.
  9. Would be nice to see Detroit sneak in. Since they let us borrow their stadium and everything.
  10. I'm extremely disappointed in Davis and pulling hard for him to turn it around. I thought we had something there.
  11. I think maybe you could make a case for Hines.
  12. Okay, I get it. Honestly, he should be done for the year and rethinking his future in football. Folks will write that off as me being an opposing fan, but I have nothing against Tua.
  13. Imagine Miami putting Tua out there after what we've seen this past week. I mean, I have no idea what's happening with him right now, but can you imagine the optics of him taking the field against the Bills?
  14. Agreed, but in fairness we were obviously the better team in the game we lost. So there's that.
  15. Of course the Bills should win, but Tua/Hill/Waddle gives that team a puncher's chance against anybody, including us. Nothing wrong with noting that Pitt and NE would have been easier matchups. Just a slightly tougher obstacle standing between us and the Bengals.
  16. Out of that group, Miami is the only team I don't want to play. I fully expect to beat them, but I don't like the idea of playing any team a third time -- those games are often weird. The other potential matchups are as easy as we could hope for.
  17. I wouldn't even consider resting starters. First of all, we want every seeding advantage we can get -- there's not much separating us from KC or CIN. Second, it has to be good for the team to get out there and play a normal week of football. If they're going to be flat and out of it, better to get it out of the way today than next week. Resting starters amounts to very weird and disjointed back-to-back soft byes, and teams often seem to struggle to snap out of those.
  18. None of those road games look like especially appealing trips. Washington might be fun, I guess. Actually I could definitely talk my wife into that, depending on the date. How come the stupid formula has us playing at KC and CIN all the time, instead of just scheduling us @LV every year? I'd be willing to spot those guys home field.
  19. I don't want to veer too far from football, but it's kind of sobering to think that people like this have always been among us, and it's mainly thanks to the internet that we know about them. If this person had had an internet connection back in 2001, he'd be telling us how jet fuel can't melt steel beams. Let's try to resist the temptation to judge a fan base on their craziest fan.
  20. I have no problem with the decision to suspend play, and I was strongly opposed to resuming the game at a later date. But you need to get over the idea that people who feel differently are anything other than well-meaning folks who reached a different conclusion than you. That's not helpful.
  21. There are always at least half a dozen viable candidates for COY. McDermott would have been a totally reasonable choice in 2017 or 2020. He's a reasonable choice this year. Are there other good candidates? Sure. If they sustain success, they can always be recognized some other year. This is a great year to check this box for McDermott.
