  1. If I still lived in Buffalo, I would probably have season tickets and would care a great deal. Living in Ohio and having two young children that take up a lot of my time... I could care less. It's funny... when I was single and in my twenties, I watched every Hockey, Baseball and Basketball game I could see (or attend). Now in my forties (soon to be fifties)... I watch Pro football, maybe parts of the World Series and maybe parts of the NCAA tournament. That's it. Priorities change...
  2. I always thought Pete Carroll was a terrible NFL Head Coach, but college is sure the right fit for him. Might hold true for Wannedstedt, also...
  3. Payton had a tremendous straight arm. Moulds has thrown a few good ones in his day. Although he came from the hated Dolphins, watching Larry Csonka plow into defenders with a thrown forearm was another pretty awesome weapon from a running back!
  4. pass block! He is going to be a stud on picking up blitzers, etc. Best since Thurman. It looks like Bledsoe is totally comfortable with Willis helping pass block. Wasn't so with Henry... And I love watching Lee Evans lower his head and take on a potential tackler. We have two absolutely complete players that will only improve.
  5. I just saw a blurb in SI rating the fastest NFL player. I don't know if it was fan, player or GM based. Randy Moss was considered the fastest, which surprised me. There are a lot of stat experts that contribute here. Who are the fastest few NFL players, to your knowledge... and where does Lee Evans stand? Thanks
  6. I'm right there with you, Taterhill. 2005 Buick LeSabre. It might be an old mans car (I guess I qualify now), but if you are looking for reliability and a nice ride... they are quality cars. Might be a bit pricy if economics are a concern.
  7. Dave Washington... Linebacker. Long time ago, may even have been at the Rockpile. Two claims to fame; one picked up Mercury Morris and slammed him headfirst into the turf at home... the fans went beserk with joy!!! Two, due to injuries during a game, had to become our placekicker and made an extra point or two. This is so long ago I could even be wrong with his first name, but I am pretty sure it was Dave.
  8. My thoughts only involved the remainder of 2004.
  9. And most of the youngsters won't remember this.. but Ralph was a real skinflint back then.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mularkey take over the duties of offensive coordinator. Head Coaches have taken over the duties before. I bet he would call a great game. Of course, the worry would be that his Head Coaching duties might suffer. I don't want Clements to leave, but just a thought in case he does.
  11. If he leaves I bet you'll see Wyche calling plays or more likely Mularky will (just for the rest of the year)
  12. Sylvania... how about you?
  13. Are these types of comments really necessary? You sound like a very unhappy individual who wants to do nothing but anger people and promote misery. There are a lot of healthy disagreements on this board... but unprovoked, angry comments are a waste of everyone's time.
  14. You have my sympathy. I really miss Western New York. My favorite part of living in Toledo is how the people here have such a conflict between Ohio State and Michigan fans. It gets pretty vicious. I sure do agree with your Nascar comment... what a joke.
  15. I love how both him and Adams weigh "330' ish". I think we have at least 740 pounds of defensive tackles that plug up the middle. They are an awesome combo...
  16. Even with his disaster of a performance last year, I still hold out hope for Reed to be a quality third reciever. If he works out of the slot with both of our other wideouts drawing lots of attention, he should get a lot of opportunities to catch balls and rack up some serious yards after catches.
  17. What part of Ohio? I agree with a lot of what you say, but one benefit of living near Toledo is an average annual snowfall of around 36 inches.
  18. One of the true gauges regarding coaching talent. They are making teriffic adjustments!
  19. His percentage is great but what happens when we need a 48 yarder to win a game? I have very little faith in him when there is a combination of distance and pressure.
  20. I am thrilled to death that that question can even be asked!!!!
  21. Anything outside 40 yards is in doubt...
  22. I must be overfrightened over undereducated about steroid use... but everything I have heard, and in limited cases seen... show them to be a bigger hazard then you are pointing out. If the logic of this conversation is based on them not being harmful, my earlier remarks were inappropriate.
  23. I am astounded at some of these remarks. Provide for your family the best that you can and be there and love them. I wouldn't trade my health for providing my family millions of dollars. They are happy with not only what I provide them with but also my being a loving component of the family. My dying early or changing my health or personality to be a Pro athelete and bring in more money is (and I don't normally post like this) one of the stupidist ideas I have ever heard of. How about working harder and smarter at what you do now to supply your family with more income? Maybe some of these comments are meant to be sarcastic, but they sure strike a nerve with me.
  24. Thank you for all the input. This board can really be helpful when someone is looking for information.
