  1. There... I've done my part and moved my previous post to the official thread! Most of it is repetitious...so it belongs here, but I think my Bart Starr comparison was something new. I can't believe how many people continue to rip Brady. The comparisons to the Packers of the sixties will be the vogue discussion as the Pats approach this Super Bowl. Bart Starr is considered a great QB by most and there are many similarities between Brady and Starr. Both ran/run "system" offenses that evolved around ball control offenses with the occasional effective deep ball. Both had/have outstanding defenses. Neither seemed/seem to ever get rattled. Both have/had outstanding interception ratios. It is not Brady's fault that he is the quarterback of this team. Again, Starr was considered a "great" quarterback... but basically he was a very good quarterback... in the right system... on a great team. When the Bills play the Patriots I want them to knock the guys head off, but that does not "blind me" into saying he is lucky or not a very good quarterback.
  2. Did you notice that it was Bill B. that called over the defensive captain and talked to him before they stopped the Steelers on their 4th and one? He is the reason for their success.

  4. Sorry Youngsters... Roadhouse Blues by the Doors
  5. Where I live we get some pretty decent winds and I have never had a significant outage (7 years)
  6. Wow... he was quite a man. What a loss...
  7. I'm not sure if he died, but I believe Bob Chandler died at an early age. Yeah, Braxton was a moose...
  8. If I remember correctly, Jarvis wasn't too bad, either. Thanks... I had more fun with this than another "Bledsoe sucks" thread...
  9. I feel much better now. Donnie Green... he was a big boy. Sure didn't take you guys long. Thanks.
  10. I believe those were the receivers. Bob Chandler was sure fun to watch. I have always forgotten Dave Foley and known the other tackle. But now... I can't remember it either.
  11. Who was the other tackle when Seymour was tight end?
  12. I believe Seymour was the tight end. The gurds should be easy, the center and tackles are a little bit harder
  13. Using the honor system (just going by memory)... who can name the offensive linemen (including the tight end) the year OJ rushed for 2000 yards? Just trying to post something thought provocative and different.
  14. 48.. but have a considerably younger wife and we have a two -year old. No choice but to remain young...
  15. They "beat" us to Harrington. They also picked their second string QB from Rutgers while we had our eye on him.
  16. Well before that game... the Bills pulled the same stunts against Cincinnati's no huddle.
  17. It used to be great to watch their postgame show. When I think back to 25 years ago (when I moved away from Buffalo), there was no directv or Empire accessibility. If your area did not carry the Bills game you were really out of touch. I remember many times being on the phone with my Dad with him giving me a play by play at the end of each game. My Dad would fax me Bills articles throughout the week. Sorry to see Empire go, but be thankful for Directv, the Internet and the fact that newspapers (Buffalo News) are accessible via the internet. These things, along with Two Bills Drive are wondrous tools for us "out of towners" to follow and analyze our team. I am very thankful for these things. So, sorry to see Empire go, but we have it a lot better than just a few years ago.
  18. Shows the difference between "intelligence" and common sense...
  19. I agree. He is out of his mind if he doesn't keep pounding the running game. I am sure that New England will focus primarily on one thing... stopping the run. If they succeed... game over. They will torment Big Ben and clean house.
  20. I think every alcoholic beverage known to man was at these parties (senior year of high school). Melody or not... Whammer Jammer is an all time great party song. Now if I could just remember anything else from these parties...
  21. Was that a requirement? Great party album (ok... in the early seventies).
  22. Thanks... that would certainly rule him out. Too bad.
  23. Sorry if I spelled his name wrong. On ESPN radio today a NY writer stated that Cherbet probably would not be brought back. I think he was hurt part of the year, but he is sure a clutch reciever that might look better in a Bills uniform than Josh Reed. Anybody know what his injuries were?
  24. There are some great ones posted, but you youngsters missed a classic... J. Geils Band... Full House
  25. Thanks for all of the great input today. I truly appreciate every comment. The puppy is a Labradoodle, which is an interesting mix between a standard poodle and a lab. Should be an interesting dog. I'll try to post a picture when my wife (the computer programmer) gets home. Thanks again.
