I think "not tough" is a fair assessment based on some previous games in the McD era. I would LOVE to be wrong! As previously mentioned the Ravens will be a great test.

Spencer Brown brought some long-lacking toughness to our team. Josh Allen certainly brings it. McD's teams, though tend to be outmuscled by tougher teams. Last night (I know it was preseason!) was just another example of a lack of toughness and heart. I continue to wait for a "smack in the mouth" performance and wonder. Again... preseason... second and third string... but the killer attitude (especially for players trying to make the roster) really seems to be lacking. I am not overreacting to a meaningless preseason game but have always questioned if our leadership can get the most out of the players.

Good point about the fans. I would still think that this can't contribute to a positive atmosphere on the team. I doubt that other players would come out and state that it is a negative distraction (even if it is).

What I don't understand is why the Bills don't make him leave camp. if he refuses to practice and is a negative distraction tell him to leave. i don't know if there is some collective bargaining/ union issue or what?

I never lost interest, There were years I sadly accepted that they sucked. Fan since their inception. Even their horrible years they were a constant source of discussion with my family. Many years of disappointment but never lost interest.

Quite a change from the "soft" teams of the past. Now transfer some of that nastiness to the defensive line.

Physical team. We now have an offensive line with an attitude (thanks Spenser) but McD's team has always had a defensive line that gets pushed around by a smash mouth team. I see that as a continuing problem against teams like the Ravens. Hopefully we just outscore them.

Couldn't agree more. We have always had a soft defensive line with McD. Spencer Brown added a toughness and nastiness to the offensive line and look what happened. tired of not having some ass kickers on the defensive line... that is all on McD and his defensive philosophy.

I was at that game. Gruesome injury. My favorite player, very sad.

Funny... all these extensions and the one player stating their "worth" on social media is not extended yet. I wonder if how Cook approached it kind of ruffled some feathers.
