Shaw66 update
lookylookyherecomescookie replied to 60’s Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another great rockpile memory. 1969 home opener was with the jets, they had won super bowl III the previous january. In those days the AFL-NFL rivalry was huge, and as the jets were introduced, they got a standing ovation from the Buffalo crowd for being the first AFL team to win the super bowl. The Bills then went on to lose the game of course. Try to imagine a Bills home crowd giving any visiting team a standing O now, and you'll realize how big the AFL-NFL thing was in those years -

I did also. Although he wasn't with the team yet, I made it to the rockpile as a kid for a game their first year (1960), and have been a fan since. Got onto the field after they won the '64 AFL championship. -
I don't want ANY player who feels he's done more than enough when the team hasn't done enough! I don't care about stats, personal accomplishments, community involvement., whatever. The team didn't do enough, therefor YOU didn't do enough. When we have a team where everyone on the roster feels that way, we'll have a winner. And I feel Mcbean is trying to build that kind of roster.

RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming
lookylookyherecomescookie replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First, I wanted Rosen Second, I realize that the Bills know more than I do But I just wanted to address the accuracy question regarding Rosen and Allen Allen's completion % was 56.3% in 2017, Rosen's 62.2%. Now I realize that there are numerous variables such as types of passes attempted, YPA, quality of defenses played against, quality of offensive line and receivers, etc., but what we're talking about is 6 completions more per 100 attempts with Rosen, or approx. 2 per game (assuming 33 pass attempts per game). (At a yards per completion of 10 which was the approximate nfl 2017 avg. we're talking 20 yards). Is it possible, assuming no improvement on Allen's part, that it's ok to accept two fewer completions in return for a player who might better fit the culture of the team that Mcbeane is attempting to build, might be more durable, and is certainly more mobile (fewer sacks). Allen may make it, may fail, but maybe this trade-off is worth it. -
not to belabor this discussion, but Jewish is first a religion, although beliefs and practices vary widely between orthodox, conservative, reform, reconstructionist branches .It is second a culture, although again, attitudes, values, practices, the way one conducts his/her life, and interacts with other jews and non-jews varies widely. Finally, I personally know white jews, black jews, asian jews. A race-not really. Rosen sounds like what would be called a secular Jew.

I think he is shooting for this given that he traded away the starting QB, did not actively pursue any FA QB's ( AJ fell into their lap as the last qb standing). I find it hard to believe that the plan is to start Nate, or start whichever FA qb they ended up with. These actions undertaken by Beane are facts. Pompous, self centered, are opinions. You could end up being right based on your opinions, I'm merely drawing reasonable conclusions based on facts .

Our entire draft depends on the Giants pick

I find it hard to believe that Beane would trade TT, not go hard after any free agent QB, (AJ pretty much dropped to us when nobody else went after him), without knowing that he would be able to get the qb he wanted in the draft. I'd be shocked if we don't end up with the #2 choice. Beane has known for a while what the price for that is, and seeing his actions with TT and the available FA's , it looks like he's going to pay it. Just my opinion, but otherwise, his actions going all the way back to last year's draft make no sense. And all of Beane's other work to date shows a smart calculating GM who knows what he's doing.
