Yes, that last series with :41 seconds left in the half by the Bills went to Knox, McKenzie, Gabe Davis for the tying FG from the Minn 35 to the Buffalo 35. Where was this during the other series of the second half? The Bills were up 24-10 at the half and kept that lead mostly all through the 3rd quarter. 3rd Quarter 12:22, 3 plays PUNT. 3rd Quarter 6:12, 8 plays FG. 3rd Quarter 1:34, 13 plays, INT.*** 4th Quarter 4:34, 3 plays PUNT. 4th Quarter :49, 1 play FUMBLE. 4th Quarter :41, 5 plays FG. Only 6 points by Buffalo the entire second half. The Vikings corners were playing off Diggs and giving him a big cushion as to why so many throws to him. 12 of 16 for 128 yards. McKenzie 4 of 5 for 37 yards. Knox 4 of 6 for 56 yards. Shakir saw only one pass all game. Hines saw only one pass all game. James Cook saw no passes. From my view the Bills still need that first down maker safety valve like Beasley was. So many times Josh Allen needed to make those 3rd and long pass plays to keep drives going. ***INT, Bills at the Vikings 11 1/2 yard line. (The Bills score here and on 4th and 2 after two incompletions should have kicked a FG. 30-17 and instead an INT... Again, two pass incompletions just previous to that 4th down INT should have told the Bills OC that nobody getting open besides Diggs.) Ken Dorsey!

Just saying, First series for Buffalo in 2nd half...Singletary run, no gain. Josh Allen pass to Diggs for 18 yards. Singletary up mid for one yard. Allen Sacked, -13 yards. PUNT. Second series, Singletary LG no gain, Singletary LG 5 yards. Penalty on Eagles 1st down. Pass, Diggs 11 yards, pass Knox 22 yards, Cook left end +8 yards. Pass, incomplete. run by Duke Johnson no gain. Penalty false start, FG. Third series, pass incomplete, pass incomplete. Allen run, no gain, penalty on Brown holding. pass to Diggs 25 yards. 1st down. Singletary LG no gain. Allen Sacked -6. pass Davis 22 yards. 1st down Pass incomplete. Run by Cook 7 yards. Pass Diggs 16 yards. Pass McKenzie 8 yards. pass incomplete, pass incomplete. pass interception. Fourth series, pass complete no gain. penalty Diggs false start. pass incomplete, pass incomplete. PUNT. Fifth series, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, FG. (against the team supposedly worst in the NFL in the red zone) OT, Allen run +18, Allen run +20, pass Diggs +7, pass Diggs +7. Pass incomplete. pass interception. Diggs 12 of 16 for 128 yards. Davis 6 of 9 for 93, 1 TD. Mistakes by the offense. a bunch of incomplete passes. defense keying on Singletary. turnovers. What this team is missing is that Cole Beasley slot WR first down maker. Why not more of Knox, Shakir, Hines? Just move the chains! So much of the game on QB Josh Allen's shoulders...

Nobody wants to win games more than Josh Allen, Ken Dorsey, McD, IMO The football is an oblong spheroid and doesn't always bounce the way you want...besides, stuff happens. No Bills fan wanted to see this loss! Let's not forget that Ken Dorsey is a rookie play caller and he is learning as he goes. Anyone else recall what Daboll was like back in 2018? Like when the team started Nathan Peterman over Josh? Or when Daboll saw what Allen could do with his legs he started calling for more QB runs. It took time for Daboll to develop into a top offensive play caller even with all his previous OC experience. Even then, he neglected the run game far too often in my view. Up 27-17, I was hoping the Bills would just keep scoring in the second half and put this game away. Also, I sure as heck get tired of hearing about how good this defense is statistically when they keep giving up big plays, long drives at the end of games. 481 yards given up to the Vikes. Yea, I know...injuries. Buffalo 4 turnovers...so difficult to win games giving up the ball that much. Losing sucks...I expect this team to bounce back with 8 games left, Browns, Lions, Patriots, Jets, Dolphins, Bears, Bengals, Patriots. 14-3! Go Bills!

I agree. This thread is about the defense so I'll keep it on that. That last, long, Jets 6+ min drive only ended with a FG...however, those 3 points cost the game. The defense needs to be able to switch things up and get in the QB's face if the 4 man rush isn't getting there. Same thing with the run stoppers! If the Nickle defense is being run on at least swap out the smaller players for some bigger players to stop the run. It still blows my mind that this DC is so afraid if getting beat deep that he can't step away from the Nickle defense. That Jets O line was supposedly beat up and getting abused by other teams... That Packers game showed the rest of the NFL how to run on the Buffalo Bills and the Jets saw that and used it to get the win. Let me forecast the future a bit...the 7-1 Vikings will play ball control and run Dalvin Cook down the Bills throat...the Bills will stay in Nickle and get run on...

Who has been the biggest disappointment?
Nihilarian replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
I realize that a defense allowing 20 points to a team in a week is doing pretty good...and yet! I also realize that the Buffalo Bills defense is ranked in the top 5 and nearly #1...and yet! Do they play scared? Are they so afraid of giving up a big play they refuse to switch out of the Nickle defense or substitute in bigger players to stop the run? Change things up when the situation calls for it? That last Jets series, 13 plays, 86 yards for 6:10, a FG. The Bills did sack Wilson 2x but he played probably his best game in the league against that supposed top 5 Buffalo defense. The Patriots made the kid look lost the week before. If Von Miller doesn't collapse that entire side of the Packers offense on that 4th down play is it a different game? Leslie Frazier gets my vote for biggest disappointment so far, JMO Lastly, Cole Beasley where are you? Man, this team is really missing that first down maker right now! Somebody needs to step into that role and step up, "Lil Dirty", Shakir (was he even active last game?) Hines,...OBJ? -

Funny thing...last season the Bills were beaten by the worst team in the NFL the last few seasons ( 2-6 Jacksonville Jaguars 6-9) and we didn't see as much outcry as we have seen losing to the 5-3 NY Jets. Let's face it, the Bills were 11.5 favorites over the Jets and were supposed to blow them out!! Jets QB Zach Wilson had a horrific game a week previous against the NE Patriots who has a top 10 defense. Yet, Buffalo who fielded a top 5 defense couldn't stop the Jets when it counted. What Bills fans don't see is that inflexible Buffalo defensive scheme that refuses to change from a Nickle defense...so opposing teams will utilize that same flaw against them...again, and again. Those 13 seconds, Buffalo went into a prevent defense afraid of that big play and it bit them in the ass. The Bills have the personnel to switch things up to stop the run and don't... On the other side of the ball the Bills fall in love with the big play and refuse to see when the QB is under so much pressure that he can't run the designed plays. No plan B? Utilize the run game more, sweeps, end arounds while making that defense run sideline to sideline to wear them out. When the QB is having an off day, switch things up. JMO -
The Colts owner is a fool. I get that the owner doesn't like to lose. Yet, look at the QBs his GM brought in, Rivers, Wentz, Ryan who were all stinking things up. That team will rock bottom now and be looking to draft a QB.

Will they ever go away from Nickle?

Josh Allen's waning confidence and mental yips
Nihilarian replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Davis currently has a 48.5 catch percentage. Shakir has a 46.2%. Diggs has 75.3%, Knox 73.9. Singletary 76.7%, McKenzie 66.7% Probably why Beane traded for Hines who has a 89.3% 28 targets, 25 receptions. -
Josh Allen's waning confidence and mental yips
Nihilarian replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, my "theory" is that Josh might just be worried about losing his new OC at the end of the season should the offense keep looking like world beaters with +10 point spreads every week. OR, Perhaps he is over thinking every play while attempting to make a something happen. I know he didn't want to lose to the NY Jets. Oh, how the Jets and their fans are now rejoicing! It's games like this one that makes me yearn for a power run game besides the QB. Pound the rock so well that you can make a first down running against any team. When the defense moves up to stop the run you can now throw over them. When the QB isn't throwing like an MVP, let him hand it off... -

I have a theory and it has to do with the current Buffalo OC... who might not be easy to replace. -
Have you ever seen so many teams "give up" to a team before
Nihilarian replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
This! My take is Buffalo could have laid a 50 burger on GB if they had kept their proverbial foot on the gas. I dunno, perhaps Josh didn't want to humiliate one of his football hero's. If the score had really gotten out of hand it would have forced GB to pass more. Thus getting Rodgers killed. Just a thought. As far as all that running goes. It was what LaFleur did when he took over the team in 2019 in which they went from a 6-9-1 season to several 13-3 seasons. The Bills slammed the door on that 3rd qtr 6:37 min drive on that 4th and one. Plus, the difference being the Packers had WR's Devante Adams, Scantling back then. Nowadays, the GB TE Robert Tonyan is their leading receiver with 35 receptions. Next is Aaron Jones with 30. Why they let those two WR's leave...? If their FO didn't want to win they should have traded Rodgers. To put that in perspective currently Tyreek Hill has 69 receptions, Diggs 55. On another note, Jests getting +13... and it should be a Buffalo stomping. -

I almost think that Josh Allen felt bad for his hero Aaron Rodgers and didn't want to bury that dagger too deep. That last bad pass... -
