Without looking at data, I would guess that the vast majority of teams with a young, potentially franchise level quarterback, would opt for a steady veteran hand behind him who is a willing teacher, rather than another raw rook, regardless of said raw rooks potential. Milton had to go if he wanted to advance his career. It could be argued that NE should’ve held out for more of a return, bout I don’t think that Milton’s performance against an unmotivated Bills defense filled with backups moved the needle that much.
