12/8/24 Game 14 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Rams 2nd half game Thread
Neo replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pointing out that any quarterback throws several poor passes in a row, while not pointing out the spectacular nature of a five TD performance, seems to one of the oddest ‘forrest for the trees’ approaches to analysis i can think of. -

For all the doom and gloom, we’re a botched punt away from the lead. That will disturb a few. -

I seem to recall a “oh, we’re going to get that Allen” post earlier today. Poster was correct. We’re getting that Allen, again. -

He single handily got them there. I’d argue handing it to a RB would be just as “cheap,” although that’s not a word I’d use. -

For all the doom and gloom, this a 3 point plus a blocked punt game. I know blocked punts count. It’s closer than the dialogue indicates. -

If only he’d have checked down to Diggs instead of looking for the TD to Shakir in last year’s playoff game. You know, if only he’d were safe and easy. I’m here to point out that a really safe decision on one play, that may run contrary to an all world hall of fame set of instincts, makes me feel good in a small, safe, way I’m willing to point it out, too, in post after post. -
What’s it gonna take to improve /prioritize our run defense?
Neo replied to Jistafan's topic in The Stadium Wall
What’s it going to take? A new coaching staff. We’re getting exactly the run defense they want. -
Ha, grateful for the acknowledgment! I’m not a fan of ol’ Noam’s politics, but he sure makes for interesting reading. The real shout out goes to @Jauronimo for his original, whimsical, post. I picked up Chomsky‘s Language and Mind years ago. It’s described as accessible. I struggled with it, but “get the several gists.” I’m having conversations with ChatGPT. Artificial Intelligence borrows, or shares, or incorporates some of his linguistic work. Its successes challenge some of his theories, as well. Nerd night. Discuss Chomsky, linguistics and large language models WITH a large language model like ChatGPT. Great man … not my favorite political theorist.

Don’t confuse my decision not to participate in non-sequiturs, moved goal posts, unrelated hypotheticals, character and intellect insults, and the conjuring of similar things that aren’t similar things with inconsistency. It’s as if you’ve sloshed a stew with a blender and subsequently accused me of not being able to identify the ingredients. Now to the kernel and why I didn’t respond. I believe you’re weirdly going down some rabbit hole and may be suffering from Inter-Web-Itis, aka the tendency to confuse issues followed by an inability or unwillingness to simply say that in public. The result is several days of increasing tangential questions and points, none of which relate to the original post. It’s not life threatening, but it probably deserves a cup of coffee and a pause. Other wise known as “when you’re in a hole, stop digging” syndrome. My bottoms line. There’s nothing about your worm hole that’s interesting enough to me to respond. You missed the point in your first response and then came at the missed point from four different directions. If, with notable hubris you cannot see yourself as anything but fascinating to me, I can’t help you. I’m not responding to goofy. I will try to be consistent with that. Good luck on your mission to scrub an internet message board and have it conform to your view of the world. At the risk of sending you into a coronary event, and with the hope of vanquishing the extraneous, I’ll repeat. I would prefer to beat the KC Chiefs with a healthy Mahomes and I prefer to compete against anybody’s “best.” You get to decide for yourself, by yourself. You may alert the media, my physician, local law enforcement authorities, the Wall Street Journal Op Ed page, and the U.N. They’re going to say “so what, good for him.” That might be a response for you consider, too. I wish you health, good fortune and joy. If any of those things rely on me sharing my thoughts on Super Bowl XXV during a KC with Mahomes conversation, you’re on your own for all three. “Consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.” Ralph Waldo Emerson. Ralph was referring to looking at different things, or manufacturing different things, and then railing at them because they’re not the same. Godspeed ….

I can’t draw any conclusion other than he’s ready to play a lot of snaps, because he did. Effectiveness? Who knows on that field.

I’m about to be excited, but will instead wait for “arm punt” and “should’ve taken the Diggs check down instead of Shakir in the end zone” posts. -

Interesting and cool. It’s a touchdown pass, a touchdown reception, but not a catch. So, JA’s receiving line will be 0-0-1 for targets, receptions and TDs -

Yes, now I understand. Thank you for your patience and efforts. I’m grateful for your insight into my character and intellect. You’re a special person with gifts. Please continue your efforts to make the board a better place and don’t be discouraged by hypocrites and dummies like me.
