  1. Beans wasnt on board for last draft, and one draft is a pretty small sample size to say the bills won’t do something. anyway, good player at Boise. A second day prospect.
  2. I’m with you on Rosen, dude. Something could stop him from being great but he probably has the best chance out of the bunch to be awesome. Great arm, great mechanics, pro concepts, good accuracy, great size, smart, carried a team devoid of talent. When Jay questions you and your opinions, just remember that he loved Jake Locker after watching like all of his games in person or something like that. Just goes to show that none of us can predict the future but your opinion is as well researched as they come on TBD.
  3. If either Mike White or Lauletta go on the second day I’ll eat my shoe. On TBD, we fans always undervalue truly good prospects (saying we can’t afford to move up for them) and being willing to throw away early picks for mediocre QBs that will be there in the 5th. People literally said the same thing about Peterman going in the second round last year.
  4. I’m rooting for the XFL. If I was McMahon: 1. Allow players right out of high school. That gave the USFL a chance. 2. Keep it under 2 hours like he says he will. People don’t have time for 4 hour games, keeping things fast will make more people want to watch. 3. Make it very streamable - I will watch it on my phone rather than the TV. Still play it on TV but make sure I can watch it any way I want. 4. Make the viewing experience unique something else he has talked about, giving lots of angles. Maybe make body cams so you can switch between watching the game traditionally or from your favorite QB or LBs point of view. 5. Don’t go into traditional markets. Someone already said STL, Oakland, San Diego. All great ideas! I’d also stick with smaller markets near big cities like Portland, Hartford, San Antonio, Milwaukee, Toronto, etc. That way you have teams with much less competition for football. 6. Make the tickets cheap. Part of footballs problem is it is impossible for fans to go to games anymore. Partly because the television experience is great but also because it costs an arms and a leg. 7. Eliminate punts after the 50 yard line.Make all extra points 2 point conversions. Eliminate kickoffs. 8. Reduce the commercials, put ads on the jerseys or bottom of the screen but keep the action moving. 9. Return the catch rule back to the way it was when we didn’t debate about it all the time and make PI 15 yards rather then unlimited. 10. Do whatever it can to develop stars, not just gimmicks. Do that by hiring quality coaches and personnel men from the college and Pro ranks. Manziel, Tebow and those retreads won’t cut it.
  5. Love Lamar! Really enjoyed how many of those throws were from the pocket and on the money. He is inconsistent but he certainly can do everything you want out of a QB.
  6. If the “major player news” is breaking next week, then how are there details tomorrow? El Paso...I spent a month there one night.
  7. I was fairly young but I used to love watching Brees at Purdue. He was such a fun QB to watch and really wanted the Bills to draft him bc I was a fan, not because I knew he’d be a HOF. I think Baker is fun like Brees was, so I hope he has a similar career. for anybody that wants to see Brees in college:
  8. I agree he is not a nuanced pocket passer. But he is a nuanced passer when he is allowed to move away from his pocket. He makes very good decisions and throws when he is allowed to play the way he is comfortable. and good to hear we are in agreement that he will need to learn to play different in the pros because it’s only going to get harder to see passing lanes when the game gets faster. And the odds are stacked against him with Brees being his only predecessor that has found success. I think Brees was the better athlete coming out of college too so Mayfield is really going to be reality checked at the NFL level with the talent he will be competi against. It’s going to be interesting, and I’m rooting for him like I am all QBs in this class.
  9. This is good to hear. As much as we like to take sides on which QB will be good or not, it’s preferable that as many can succeed as possible.
  10. I’d take either at 12, but only if it costs us a 2nd or less to move up. Neither are sure fire but both have great upside.
  11. Baker isn’t really a pocket passer right now. He makes some plays from the pocket. He is short tho and drifts out of the pocket a lot so he can see downfield. He is a much more nuanced passer than Manziel was and processes info well. But he is going to have to learn to be like Brees in finding his lanes while staying in the pocket a lot more. Took Brees a couple of years and it will probably take Mayfield some time too but if he figures it out he will be dynamite.
  12. Didn’t say it did, did I?
  13. Leadership is one thing I don’t think you can knock him on. He was a leader on his team this year and the team immediately fell apart the few games he was injured. Despite his injury, he came back and played in his bowl game.
  14. He was up and down at the beginning like most QBs, but reports are he is getting better each practice.
  15. That’s fine if it’s more about the film for you. He does have a lot of ugly tape. I just wanted to mythbust some of the reasons you gave before. As far as the Nebraska game goes, it was his first ever road start in college. I don’t hold that against him as much, that’s a game a lot of QBs struggle in. I’d say his worst game was the Oregon game this year. And I agree it would ultimately be better if he went later. Unfortunately, you have to take the raw tools into consideration bc they are a factor. But yes, some team will draft him very early almost entirely based on his physical gifts.
  16. Allen started for 2 years at Wyoming, unless your counting his year at JUCO. He also has led the Cowboys to the winningest two years since 98 and 99. He threw for more yards than Carson Wentz did over the same amount of time while operating in the same offense. He improved his interception percentage greatly from sophomore to junior years. He is sub 60% for his career. You may eventually be vindicated if his pro career flops but their are a lot of reasons to like Allen as a prospect.
  17. Look up his history. He is maybe the least developed major QB prospect of the modern era. He didn’t attend QB camps all his life, just really started focusing on football. That is why I think he can improve with some good coaching because a lot of the accuracy issues comes from his feet. In HS, he went to a small school and played multiple sports all year. Spent one year at Junior College and then transferred to Wyoming and spent a couple years under Coach Bohl. Bohl is not a good QB developer, Carson Wentz still has issues with his footwork this year. Again, I agree with you that some team is probably going to ruin him but I don’t think his accuracy is incurable if he finds the right environment.
  18. I’m an Allen apologist because I think he has some amazing abilities and I think he is a great kid that has a lot of ability to improve - even in the accuracy department. But you are right, he shouldn’t be drafted early based on the QB he is right now. Unfortunately, he is going to be drafted early based on the QB he could be. And if he goes to a really bad team, it could end really bad for him.
  19. TT is actually a little taller. Mayock loves this kid cause he has a big time mean streak. Last guy he praised like that was Brandon Albert who turned into a pretty good pro. Maybe a good RT option on day 2. I don’t want to spend any more high picks on WR, but Washington is going to be a stud in the NFL.
  20. Good thing he didn’t get a haircut!
  21. He won’t get out of day 2, could be a good pick there though
  22. Vick was ahead of his time. He wasn’t meant for taking snaps under center. I’d say that Lamar is actually further ahead right now for being a pro prospect because the transition to the pros for a QB of his skill set is easier now that these college concepts are being used. Aditionally, I think you are getting a much more mature and harder working player (Vick himself would probably admit that). I could see similar early success for Lamar based on these factors, but definitely a downgrade in talent...although still amazing.
  23. Between those two, Mayfield.
  24. Wow. The Broncos are lucky they got that much access to both top prospects. However, I have the utmost confidence that John Elway has no idea what he is doing when it comes to drafting QBs. I can’t wait to see how both compete against each other tho.
  25. I’m not a big fan of Rudolph as our franchise QB pick, but everything I hear about the kid as a person is glowing. If we could get him later on in the draft I’d be cool with it.
