  1. Yes he sucked yesterday. The one play he made to Clay for 25 yards was called back. A great long pass to Thompson that was dropped (tough catch but a perfect pass). Let's look too at the play by play..... http://www.espn.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=400951555 Gonna blame him for the Charles Clay int too? Actually no chance and going through it as bad as he was, really no chance to succeed. A few not great passes to Benjamin and Saints just ramming it down the Bills throat.
  2. It was a pass that an NFL QB just can not miss.... He made it and does get credit. I was just stating it was a wide open receiver with no coverage and good blocking. I see you didn't answer the question. Have you watched the Rams games or just the highlight package. I've watched a fair bit and he has played very well, but not at an MVP level. I've also watched TT and he looks handcuffed.
  3. I'd take TT right now. When Sammy was healthy TT was connecting with him on much tougher passes then Goff is completing. They hit on many long bombs. The Bills offense is putrid and Goff would be worse if he was asked to guide it. TT has done a much better job avoiding the rush and actually made many more tough passes this year then Goff. Now answer me this.... Have you watched the Rams games? I have and Goff has done what was asked of him. They have two close wins (leading the majority of the game) and two close losses, where Goff did not deliver given the chances. Wow sounds much like the Bills & TT, but with way more weapons and better coaching. Watch the Rams and how fluid they are when things are clicking. Conversely a little adversity and yes they are not that good either. Rams have wins vs. Scott Tolzien, Brian Hoyer, Blake Bortles, Drew Stanton & Tom Savage already this year........ Say what you want but the Bills outside Simian have at least played vs. quality QBs......
  4. While I admitted to being petty, I still am not that impressed with Goff as I've watched him and his #'s are great, but doesn't pass the eye test imo. Until the TD to Watkins the DB was 10 yards off him, which could have been exploited a lot earlier. The reliance on Cooper Kupp over Watkins is criminal in my mind. He too makes a # of bad throws during the game & also he is not overly mobile. The TD to Woods was the right read to a receiver 10 yards open. Also the Rams D have feasted on some of the worst QB's in the league to date resulting in the Offense having many possessions. TT was lousy yesterday, but when the opposing team calls 24 consecutive running plays, it is much more then the QB.
  5. I give...... Yes I'm petty...... Yes it is uncalled for, just the nagging feeling that Goff is much like TT when ahead and playing inferior competition. I do want to see Goff and how he does vs. Minnesota this week.
  6. Goff threw for 201 yards in the 3rd quarter alone. Watching the game he was not good the first half...... I am watching his closely and he has been good, but not great. That woods TD he hit a receiver 10 yards open. The Rams are reminiscent of the Bills in blowouts in that they look unstoppable. To date they have beaten 2 1 win teams (NYG & SF), Arizona (QB injured in the game), Houston without their QB and Indy (also without their QB). Their good wins are vs. Dallas and Jax (only 122 yards passing). Yes they are a much improved team and quick strike on offense, but have also been very lucky with how the schedule has shaken out.
  7. No he was bad...... The first drive the Bills looked good and then poof...... 10 days to prepare and they had nothing. When I watch Goff though, it is not that impressive. I don't see him throwing tight spirals into tough coverage or extending plays. He's playing great under wonderful tutelage and playcalling. I have no idea what Buffalo is doing on offense.
  8. Actually Goff doesn't impress me that much. He is slow, often makes the wrong read, not overly accurate and too focused on Gurley and Kupp. He was lousy in the first half and then a great second. Also helps to have a great Defense and play from the lead. To me it looked as far as the Bills went, that the offensive line was terrible, little time to throw, no rhythm and the worst WR's in the league. BTW where was Jordan Matthews? I'm sure the experts here will tell us watching the all22 as to how bad TT was.
  9. But the franchise is worth $3 Billion vs. Buffalo's $1.6 Billion. Yes funny seeing all those empty seats, but means very little in the long run. But back to the game and Rob Woods TD's...... How can a player be so open on a play as Woods was? Please don't credit Goff as it was as simple a pass as one could make. Add to that all game Watkins had a DB 10 yards off him and finally they threw that simple TD pass to him and it makes you wonder what is going on and why not exploited more often. Watching Goff he is not that good. He is the product of an Offense that has weapons and they are exploiting them. Great formations and play calling. Heck Cooper Kupp is getting twice as many targets as Watkins and Gurley is used like McCoy as the checkdown/safety valve.
  10. he should. same with Cooper Kupp...... Sad to see him ignored....
  11. Wow another 3 targets for Sammy. The DB covering him was either 10 yards off so an easy completion or Watkins beat him at the line and Goff didn't look his way. For 2+ quarters Goff was actually lousy and then things clicked.
  12. They sulk when they get 8 targets a game...... Brown lost it earlier this year over targets and has many times in the past. Same with OBJ..... As for Goff's #'s they are just okay in terms of accuracy. Again unbelievable that only 31 Targets and 121st in the league and healthy.
  13. Still ridiculous that he has only been targeted 31X's (121st in the league). And surprise he hasn't lost any speed (as some others have claimed)...... And Royale With Cheese, he can be open all game long (and often is) and Goff isn't looking his way.......... Watch the game and pretty obvious. What is sad is that he isn't the #1 option and that lies with Goff & the OC. Now it could simply be that the OC doesn't trust Goff to throw to the #1 receiver if covered by #1CB & doubled......
  14. You aren't watching...... His accuracy is actually not great. He's missed Watkins on many of those 31 targets (along with other receivers). He doesn't have a great feel for the pockets or his reads and he's successful thinks to great playcalling. Will he get better, hopefully (if you're a fan), but right now he is just okay and the coaching and pieces around him very good. TT is a better QB. On Buffalo Goff would be a disaster.
  15. Yes bang on..... He really is succeeding thanks to very good coaching an innovative offense and good weapons. How anyone in there right mind doesn't look and see that Kupp has way more targets then Watkins and not see a problem is just trying to further their anti-watkins stance. BTW the bomb to Watkins was a great catch as he turned on the jets to get to the ball......
  16. Actually he draws the opposing teams #1 cover with usually help. Goff doesn't even look his direction, however he impacts the play. 31 targets is pathetic and ranked 121 in the league and he's been healthy. The Rams are succeeding with a QB much worse then TT, but an OC who knows what he's doing. Watkins will be fine, just unfortunate to see Goff unable to utilize him.....
  17. He would be as good or better than Dak, Goff and a # of others given a proper OC and weapons.
  18. I've said it before and will reiterate...... TT with a decent OC, would be a very serviceable QB. The FO did all they could to torpedo him and the offense this year. However a funny thing happened (prior to the Jets game) and the Bills were winning. They had two what looked like marquee wins against teams that now appear to be less then their press clippings (Denver & Atlanta), and solid wins vs. NYJ & Oakland and actually a 4th Q win vs Tampa. They also had a ridiculous turnover differential with every bounce & tip going their way. And two tight losses. I feel bad for TT as with any decent coaching and last years weapons, this team could really be good, and maybe adding Benjamin they will be, but it will come down to the coaching and playcalling. Again I've watched Goff, and he is not that good. He has had a great OC and talent around him. Wentz too has played really well, but if he was a Bill I'd wouldn't be so sure. Nice that the Bills decided to get help for the Offense halfway through the season, but my question is....... What took them so long?
  19. Yes great post and someone who has watched the Rams. They have lost two games this year and generally mirror the Bills in that they play well with the lead and great blowing teams out and not asking much of Goff. When the game gets tight it will be interesting to watch how they react (lousy vs. Seattle and a loss to Washington). In terms of catches & targets Watkins is 121 in the league and that is criminal.
  20. So anyone else see the Julio drop yesterday? Just wondering how you'd react and crucify him. Of course many here would explain that the Carolina defense wasn't trying.
  21. I am being sarcastic with tongue firmly panted in cheek. I consider TT a good QB, who could be much better with more innovative coaching and weapons at WR. I think they tried to sabotage him this year by offering him no help at WR.....
  22. Exactly and so exasperating. The Bills had a very good offense that they didn't know what to do with it (and still don't). Brady, Rodgers, Carson Wentz, Deshawn Watson...... would be handing the ball off in Buffalo, OBJ would get 6 targets a game, Antonio Brown would walk away like Boldin and be called a prima donna.
  23. And why then is the opposing teams #1 back assigned him or double teamed???? Because he's a scrub? And who is worth the money? I love how every receiver is not worth the money they're being paid. The good news is Matthews value is tumbling, so that bodes well.....
  24. Kupp will not get double covered, because then their fastest and best receiver won't have the #1 cover and double on him (Watkins). Opposing coaches have no choice but to cover Watkins and hope Goff doesn't look his way, which he doesn't.
  25. Goff is not even looking at him as I expect that coaching won't let him throw into double coverage. I also think veterans like Manning & Rothliesberger actually look to their stars to make plays. Watch a Rams game and it is pretty obvious that Goff is performing at a high level due to the schemes and not his skill level. Watkins wide open both targets Saturday and Goff made one pass. Also took serious speed to get to the ball as he blew by the db....
