This is a poor example because top picks usually play, I am talking about second day picks Another guy going into a different direction, he usually plays top picks or day one picks. How about you take your beer and compare how many picks KC played last year with what the Bills played.

One thing is clear with McDermott is he loves his older vets and has very little patience for young players. He is going to need to adjust and start trusting and playing young players/rookies because of the Bills cap situation. The Chiefs did it last season on ended up winning a Super Bowl, they played and started rookies, some of those guys are now big contributors. Even a young guy like rookie WR Justin Shorter maybe should have been brought up late in the year. The WR position was a problem all season and no reason why you can't give a dude 6"4 a shot, maybe we"re scoring a TD on that opening drive against KC rather than kicking a FG. Or starting Elam over Jackson or over a injured Douglas who was not moving well at all in that Chiefs game. There was one throw on the opening drive that Jackson had an opportunity to intercept and missed, maybe the more athletic Elam makes that play In my opinion you keep all your rookie picks on the opening day roster and let them learn and play through mistakes early in the season and then they can be counted on come playoff time. Having them hide on your practice squad is not helping them get experience or getting them ready for the playoffs

Who are your top 10 QBs in the league
Niagara Dude replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's Patrick/Lamar/Joe/Allen/Herbert and Herbert could easily pass Allen next season because he has Harbaugh and Allen has some guy that believes running the ball is how you win. End of the day Allen is most talented but being stuck with McDermott has limited his success and will continue to do so -
How do you explain Diggs invisibility act
Niagara Dude replied to Coldfronts's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thought his drop on long pass was biggest reason why we lost, he catches that then good chance he scores because defender falls down and we go up 4 with about 8 mins left. Yes Mahomes had 8 mins but defence seem to get some stops in that 4th quarter. It just seems Diggs has never been able to bring it to any of these playoff games. I always thought that contract was too big for a guy his age -
I agree that if you come out and go down the field quickly to score you put pressure on the other team to match. Had they played with more pace and scored more we would have allowed the crowd to get into the game, crowd noise was never a factor

Has anyone ever considered how these 14-15 play drives wear down our own offensive players. McDermott will get one more season to get back to passing and quick strike offence and if her continues to play cavemen football then he is will be fired. When your playing at home you need to score as quickly as possible to get the crowd into the game
-
I just hope if Brady is the OC then we change how we play, these long time consuming drives at not it. Get back to quick strike and big chuck play football

Mr. Pegula please read Tyler Dunne’s newest article

I agree 100%, your at home and we should have played more like we did against the Pats. Scoring fast gets the crowd into the game and that is what you want when playing at home. These ground and pound game plans are not going to get it done, your leaving it up for final drives and anything can happen as we saw. This team needs to restock at WR and get back to being a high scoring offence. For me when your playing at home it should always be about getting up 2 scores and then letting the crowd get into the game. Our crowd never got into this game because everything went slow. I know McDermott fanboys don't want to hear this but we will never win with him as HC because he is terrible on game day and cannot make adjustments. That fake punt was dumbest call all season, if your going to do that then go ahead and pass on every down. McDermott is a good coach, he is just not a great coach . Even Marv Levy saw the importance of scoring and passing, the goal for this team next season should be scoring 35 points or more every game and not these 12-15 play drives that end up in FG'S -
I think Allen will be thinking about those last two throws all offseason. He could have either passed to Diggs over the middle or run and that gives the Bills a first down or 3rd & 3 or less./. The goal should have always been to get at least one more first down to kill clock before trying to score TD or game typing FG. I really believe the chemistry/trust between Allen & Diggs was not at the same level then it was a few seasons ago or Allen gives that pass the Diggs when he crosses his face . I believe the chemistry was damaged last year after Cincy game and only got worse with stupid comments/tweets from Diggs's brother. As a fan I am really disappointed because the Bills again failed in situational football against this same Chiefs team.

Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences

Ot maybe they released they need better receivers to play that way, Bills need to get back the offence we had 2 seasons and add a running game -
Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences

I was pleased to hear McDermott admit that passing is how win, still need to run the ball but it's about passing the ball. -
McDermott - Excuses, Valid but concerning
Niagara Dude replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Buffalo defense in the last three divisional round losses: Opposing passers -- 71 percent, 8.1 yards per pass, 7 TDs, 0 interceptions, 3 sacks. Against the run: 167 yards a game, 5.9 yards a carry. -

This offence has been terrible since Dabol left -
I think Harbaugh would be a great get, sadly this decision my require another year of not meeting expectations. McDermott is a great HC for a team trying to make their first playoffs or turn a program around. He would be perfect in Charlotte or Chicago
-
I believe McDermott should be fired, I think it's the right time because many vets on this team will not be back and Bill always seems to get the most out his players. Only thing he has not had since Brady is a top QB. Having said this I don't believe Pegula would pull the trigger because he is soft I think McDermott is a very good HC, I just think in the playoffs adjustments and game day decisions become all that more important.

I thought the Bills made a huge mistake in giving him that much money when he was almost 30 and now that he will be 31 this season he cannot be expected to get you 100 receptions. Too many hits because he does not play outside

McDermott - Excuses, Valid but concerning
Niagara Dude replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott is going into next having to adjust and trust younger players/rookies more and he will need to change his thinking about having guys on the roster that are just on the team for special teams. Outside of the punter/kicker and long snapper we cannot keep guys unless they are capable of contributing on both regular offence and defence Two years in a row we went into a game very thin on defence because of injuries -
Divisional Playoffs - Chiefs at Bills - Post game thread
Niagara Dude replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
End of the day, watching the 2nd down Allen could have easily hit Diggs on a crossing route and he most likely picks up the first down. He also could have run for at least 7-8 yards because the right side of the field was wide open. That set of downs got screwed up by Brady's insistence on running on first down with Cook and only getting 1 yard putting us behind the sticks. They should had pass/run option to Allen on first because they did not need to force pass into the end zone. The plan should have been get another first down and then either score a TD or kick FG with little of no time left on the clock. Another poor situation football moment that Brady/McDermott failed on. -
The Chiefs played 13 personal for many times of the game forcing the Bills to play 3 LB'S.
-
I just feel sick because it was another missed opportunity and pressure will mount even more in the playoffs next year about getting over the hump and beating the Chiefs. Missed opportunity because Burrow got hurt and the Chiefs had their weakest offences in years, those things will change next year and other teams will get stronger while the Bills face huge salary cap challenges I pray to be wrong but McDermott seems like the new Marvin Lewis who also had so many great regular seasons and would then lose in the playoffs.

How about the D-line? 1 sack in two playoff games
Niagara Dude replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
They will be plenty of roster changes for sure, I just hope Beane learns the team cannot have special teams player other than punter/Kicker and long snapper. They cannot afford guys taking up roster sports that cannot contribute to either regular offence or defence -
I think this will be a retool offseason and they get rid of some older players

Divisional Playoffs - Chiefs at Bills - Post game thread

I saw the only long pass down field him looking slow, I agree that Elam should have started and maybe just play Douglas in situations
