November 17, 2024: Around the rest of the NFL
Sojourner replied to Ridgewaycynic2013's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really? This has some of the better potential games so far this year given how a lot of other teams have been playing. @jcamm1966’s point of Steelers/Ravens is great. Packers/Bears, 9ths/Hawks, Chargers/Bengals and of course Bills/Chiefs could all shape up to be quality. -

Yeah, I hear you. But theoretically the 1 seed is on the line. We’ve played far better @ home so far this season. -
11/17/24 Game 11 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Chiefs Gameday Thread

Heroic? Sorry Sydney… The Chiefs haven’t been playing solid football outside of their defense. The win will be an awesome one that we’ll have to work for but I wouldn’t call it heroic by any standard. This is a very winnable game. -
Tyson hurt him a couple of times early and never went after it again. Jake had multiple chances to actually end the fight in the final 3 rounds. Tyson was gassed and a couple of body shots would have opened the head space completely. 2 things as to why, like his previous fights, tell me why there was an agreement in place pre-fight; The states that allow betting were again spot on with the outcome. That’s one of two things. Majority of bets on A or B. Massive singular bets. Would not surprise me one bit if those were made by both camps or the promotion, as there’s no restrictions in place for a boxer or their team to place bets on themselves or the outcome of the fight. The majority of bets placed were on Tyson to win and KO. Same for Paul. Any bets placed in his favor were for KO. The lines never shifted away from decision and Paul. Not saying gambling have a hand in fixing but with boxing especially, and it’s corrupt history, it wouldn’t surprise me. The other point that I’m in is again the age of Mike Tyson. No ones fighting a guy that age. This fight just screams to me that Tyson is getting a great payday to give validity and credibility to Paul’s boxing.

I watched his brother fight Mayweather and the same thing as this fight happened, even if they are different ages and fighters. Mayweather got a couple of shots in early that hurt Paul then backed off the remainder of the fight. Like you said, it’s probably Mike protecting himself and playing the hope of a longer game but after he clocked him a few times in the first couple of rounds he backed off. Found that pretty interesting.

Absolutely. Very arrogant fighter. He has the skills to make it professionally though. How good? That’s the question. But there is talent there. Would probably be a better fighter if he had a better trail of opponents. Oh I’m well aware Tyson played his part. It doesn’t happen without his agreement but actively choosing Mike is wild. I get the payday for both of them but anyone with integrity wouldn’t fight a guy who retired from boxing when you were still in elementary school lol

Depends on one thing for me, the people I’m sharing that space with. Where I work is irrelevant. The people in that environment more often than not make it or break it.

Yeah, that was probably an overstatement. The times I’ve gone there have been at/or around commuting times.

I figured leaving at 7:30. 4:30 departure from Toronto is bonkers 😂

Im interested to see where the 2 interior guys from Michigan end up. Both are Juniors so they could stay another year. Both serious talent and are probably going to be day 1 and 2 picks. I like the Grant kid more though. Love the kid from Kentucky; Walker. Don’t know if he declares this year. Same goes with Nolan who transferred from A&M to Ole Miss. One who definitley will be in the draft is Ohio State’s Williams. That kid has some quality potential.

Dude. Thanks! That’s an awesome piece of information. Will definite be using that in the future! Not that crazy man… it takes like 3 hours to get to Toronto. Tailgating will easily be in effect by the time they get to Buffalo.

Read an article yesterday where Josh essentially said there is no comparison to Mahomes. He's 0-3 when it matters. That says a lot imo. W or L in the regular season agains them isn’t his sole focus. And, given the divison standings, that’s probably the right attitude to have. Edit: These are quotes: “Well, I know we haven’t beaten them in the playoffs," Allen said. “So that’s the only thing that kind of matters.” “I know the media perception and the fan perception is of what this game means. But for us, it’s just Week 11,” Allen said. “Just continuing to trust the process, not changing anything because there’s no need to. ... It’s gotten us to 8-2 thus far.” In seven combined meetings, Mahomes has 2,243 yards from scrimmage (2,024 passing), 16 TDs (15 passing) with 5 interceptions, while Allen has 2,194 yards from scrimmage (1,801 passing), 20 TDs (16 passing), and three interceptions.

Sans Allen, who are the untouchable players moving forward?
Sojourner replied to Billsfanatic8989's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is pretty much it. There isn’t anyone of this roster that’s completely irreplaceable. Taron and Shakir are about the only guys I would be reluctant to agree on moving if the FO did. You can make arguments for Groot/Oliver/Spencer Brown etc. but none of the players outside Allen are truly elite. HOF type player. That is an untouchable/irreplaceable player. Again, for position, Taon is about the only other guy. Top shelf NCB.
