Hmm, I guess to settle the 7-5 7-4 argument would be to question had Allen played the full game week 17, does he beat the Jets? Given Darnold managed only 13 points against mostly our second string defense, it’s a fairly good bet he does

Bills Game by Game Prediction (CBS)
buffalo2218 replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our success won’t be dictated on JAs progression alone. Both McDermott and Daboll have some improving to do theirselves. I’m gonna be keeping my optimism in check given what’s going on with hardly no training camp or workouts. But it’ll be interesting to see where this team goes from here on. I’m very curious to see how Moss does with Singletary, as well as our defense, especially if Norman regains his pro bowl form -
Wow, there's been some commotion going on in downtown Nashville tonight as well. Protesters have already set the courthouse on fire.

I'm not sure if their new O line would be considered "road graters". As many have already said, they're doing things the Bills did last year. Which means it'll take them time to be a cohesive unit. They're gonna have their struggles early on in the run game, Bell has already shown his skills are limited without an O line like the Steelers if last year was any indication. I honestly don't see Bell being with the Jets after this season

One interesting point I read on this. This will test a tired defense, and with that being the case, the Bills have the advantage with having so much depth

Flacco to the Jets on a one year deal...
buffalo2218 replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like since word got out Darnold got mono, he's been the most pampered and babied player in the NFL. Excuses came rolling in like crazy when all it really was was Gase being his HC. Can't see him doing much of anything as long as Gase is there -
Only issue I have with this is too much of a chance of a ticky tack penalty giving the offense a first down. Imagine a bogus PI call

Dallas 175 million 5 year offer to Prescott
buffalo2218 replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the cap gets lowered next year, either Jerry or Stephen would be morons to offer that much. That position may be the most important on the team, but to overpay for it given what's goin on, will create too many holes everywhere else to be a consistent contender. I'm not saying Dak isn't worth that, but surely he understands that the Cowboys like every other team are handcuffed in terms of shelling out insanely high contracts -
Jets' fans complaining about Bills' media exposure

He did this a few days ago, probably scared of getting B slapped then banned. To his credit tho, his thought process is very much comic relief -

Nah, it'd be straight pity. This guy is all if this and that, and as you saw, making up some hideously ridiculous notion of the Bills going back to the cellar. I refer to him as Captain Desparation -

That would be Sar, I saw this last night. He "threatened" to come to this forum and "talk sense" to us. That would have been like a sheep walking in to a lion's den -

Yeah in terms of arm strength, it's looking like Allen is compared to Marino (disgusting as that is to say). But unlike Marino, Allen has a better backfield and defense. Not gonna give Darnold the Kelly comparison, he's not even scratching that surface -

Yeah, I agree. Darnold completes more passes to the other team than Allen, but I guess that's ok -

Only thing I don't agree with is Darnold isn't too much of a threat right now, and as long as Gase is running things, his development will take a serious hit from that. Firing Gase will help, but nothing will change overnight. Our defense kept him in check in both games last year, and I firmly believe Josh Norman will go back to being a top notch cornerback being back with McDermott. Yes I know the mono, lack of talent etc. But as far as anyone knows, even the Jets, nothing's changed yet -

Yeah, never understood the criticism myself given his production. It's always "his style of play isn't sustainable in the NFL". He just needs to protect the ball better when running -

I realize this thread will bring out the complainers about posting Jet threads or Jet info in general. But for me, I really don't mind it. A lot of the stuff I've read on their forums is laughable. I've seen posts here saying we shouldn't be saying there's a large gap between us and the Jets. It is true, divisional games are hard to win, against the Jets especially barring Barkley's beatdown a couple of years back. Arrogant salty jealousy is what they're about. As much as they say they can't stand Allen, they'd take his style of play in a heartbeat considering what they have going for them now, and that's not a knock on Darnold. Both Allen and Darnold are talented in their own right. Unfortunately for Darnold, they're also a reflection of their head coach. Given Darnold's abilities, having Gase for a HC is really showing at this point -

This I can agree with. Don't really have anything against Darnold in terms of how he is as a person. But having that poster child for Arkham Asylum for a HC is really stunting his growth -

Valid points, except I believe the Bills had better depth at key positions. Despite the bad showing against the Patriots and other mistakes made, Allen did show improvement. No reason to think he won't show even more this season -

It's only obnoxious if they actually had a platform to stand on. They base the Allen/Darnold comparison solely on Darnold's potential. Hell you could do that with any QB in the league. They can deny all they want, but Allen took a good step last year, and for his first playoff game, didn't play that bad. The Bills have the Jets beat in so many different positions that it's not even an argument. That's not to say the Jets can't improve, but as of right now with Gase running things, they're far from a threat -

Meh it's all good, they're not being blatantly arrogant. In their minds, Allen is the inferior QB, which is fine until the game is played -

Gase isn't just slowing it down, he's in the way of it. This guy is way out there on the fringe with just about everything. Now don't take this the wrong way, but a lot of Bills fans can empathize. We've hired our share of HCs that were headscratchers, Dick Jauron comes to mind. But hey, it's all good tho. -

To be honest, I'm not really taking anything away from Darnold, nothing at all. But I think he's in the worst spot when it comes to building around him. Bell was an obvious mistake, not sure why that happened. That's not a knock on Darnold, but between Bell and the Gase hire, it's hard to say he's the better QB right now simply because of his potential. I will say I was concerned when McCarthy was mentioned for a HC candidate there. -
