  1. It takes time to change perception, and like it or not, buffalo has not been a destination for FAs. With the exception of Morse, maybe their #1 need, they were very strategic this year; much like in McD's first year, but with more money. McD brought in two under the radar players to man the backfield in Poyer and Hyde. This year I am sure they had Nsekhe, Feliciano, Brown, Kroft, and Beasley high on their target list. Individually, not a lot to get excited about, collectively they markedly improve the O, especially when you throw in their one high-end FA Morse. I think Dan Morgan probably deserves a lot of credit for their FA moves this year.
  2. My response to DR's posting of a twit about it in this thread, "It would be difficult for Trump to find a worse choice." Don't take my word for it though, this from the conservative economist Greg Mankiw: Memo to Senate: Just Say No A couple of weeks ago, I gave a talk at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. I said that, although I am not a fan of President Trump, I have to give him credit for making good appointments to the Fed. I was thinking about people like Jay Powell, Rich Clarida, and Randy Quarles. Then today the president nominates Stephen Moore to be a Fed governor. Steve is a perfectly amiable guy, but he does not have the intellectual gravitas for this important job. If you doubt it, read his latest book Trumponomics (or my review of it). It is time for Senators to do their job. Mr. Moore should not be confirmed.
  3. Jerry Hughes makes $10, so I think your top end is about what he’d be worth at the moment. Let the year play out, and you can always tag him if you really want him.
  4. Sometimes a dose of reality is needed. Besides, you have Bman to provide the good news when it happens.
  5. As I've mentioned a few times, I've had to suffer these 2+ years with my wife religiously watching Maddow every night believing the axe was going to fall any day now. I really don't know how she will handle this, but I hope to God she stops watching msnbc!
  6. Trump isn't getting much good economic news today: largest ever monthly deficit for February (though he is fond of having the largest and greatest); industrial activity down 3 months running; stocks falling; yield curve inverting. Boy, is he going to be throwing a lot of blame around...
  7. According to his NFL draft profile he started out as a TE then moved to tackle, so he must have some hands.
  8. Who exactly says they like the Fed now? Maybe I missed that in the thread? Well, it would be hard for him to find a worse nominee....
  9. He’s not going to be too happy when the estimate for 2019Q1 GDP comes out next month...
  10. After reading the Ledyard analysis that Yolo recently posted on edge defenders, I've been leaning more in this direction too. I don't think they will be in a position to draft a top edge rusher in a long time.
  11. I assume by The "left" you mean the Clinton DNC wing? Bernie is the left, and that wing has always been anti-war. I assume you've been to Mario's? I know the chef-owner (and his brothers) very well. I don't have any family left there as my siblings have all moved elsewhere (one sister is in San Diego though). Tulsi also stepped down because of the DNC's bias against Sanders. She has integrity that is found in many politicians these days.
  12. John, I've been a fan of hers ever since she started criticizing the regime change war in Syria, and Iraq and Libya for that matter. Being from Hawaii doesn't hurt also. Btw, not sure if I ever mentioned this to you, but I grew up in Riverside. Been in Buffalo since 1990--the start of the Bills' Super Bowl run! Cheers, TPS
  13. JPMorgan, don't think I'd want to work for them.... http://wallstreetonparade.com/2019/03/jpmorgan-managing-director-dies-suddenly-has-links-to-other-jpm-deaths/
  14. The only serious issue they will have is DLine, as Hughes contract expires, JPhillips is on a 1-year, and they have to decide about Lawson. Makes a pass-rusher all that more important.
  15. @Reed83HOF FYI, Waddle's # is posted. They have some very cap friendly #s for both Nsekhe and Waddle.
  16. The average was 2.2% over the previous 5 years. Would you like to ask what you're really trying to get at? As I"ve said many times here, his policies of tax cuts and spending increases helped last year, and I expected it to be a little better than it was. This year I expect it will be closer to 2.5%; however, the first quarter looks like it will be closer to 2%.
  17. I predicted between 3-3.5%, so it was slightly disappointing.
  18. A puff piece by a trump cheerleader. 2018 will be the high point for Trump @ 2.9% RGDP growth.
  19. Would take care of, what I see as their biggest need at the moment, a second 3-tech behind JPhillips.
  20. He's a nice shiny toy, and I wouldn't complain, but if the Bills can get a stud DT who can improve their run D, it would put their D into elite territory.
  21. It's interesting the early leaks about who the Bills were interested in, Paradis at C and James at TE. Meanwhile Beane got who he really wanted....
  22. I'd be happy if they go with DT, DE, the #1 OT, or the #1 TE. I have a slight preference for DT because the weakness of the #2 D was run D. This would be a solid pick.
  23. Croom is the better conversion prospect for sure. I hope he catches on somewhere. Good luck Logan.
  24. It’s difficult to really evaluate the Bills using the 3-7 year metric since they cleaned the house of Whaley’s picks almost entirely. Give the regime at least 2 more years of drafting and I think they will look very good by his standard.
