  1. To the bolded, there's several articles of Jim Irsay saying he told Luck that he should hold off as long as you can on making big decisions. “I again tried to be the best sounding board I could for him,” Irsay told reporters. “As a father of children that are older than him, you know, life has its spiritual journey, people. I mean this is, you know, this stuff is kind of a ‘bigger than all of us’ sort of issue. And I would never try to talk someone out of something that their heart truly wasn’t into. And so I was there to aboslutely support him and counsel him. Big decisions, you hold off on it. As long as you can, hold off on them. And then when you have to make them, then you make them.” (Emphasis added.) https://sports.yahoo.com/more-clues-emerge-regarding-colts-023706618.html
  2. Read it again. And how many catches did he have while Josh was in, which was the whole first half? Zero, Josh never attempted a pass to him. Which means he was shutout by the first defense. He didn't do a thing until the 2nd and 3rd team came in....right on cue. You've got to be a troll, there's no other explanation. I'm done with your nonsense.
  3. How about the team's own website? Pretty sure they have inside information. Man you're the one who's clueless.
  4. You started quoting me with I laugh at the bolded & no one is saying Duke is more accomplished when I quoted someone who indeed did say Duke had greater accomplishments. You can't even read correctly. I don't care if Duke makes the team or not, he's not going to have much of an impact this year either way. Once again you have produced nothing of substance in this conversation except to "try" and make fun of me. I laugh at your whole way of thinking, you bring nothing to the conversation.
  5. Every depth chart I look at, they have Zay on the first team and Duke on the fourth team. Your only argument is how he's impressing the coaches so much lol!!! The coaches are so impressed he's 4th string? Come on, get out of here with your nonsense.???? https://www.buffalobills.com/team/depth-chart https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/depth/_/name/buf https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/BUF https://www.lineups.com/nfl/depth-charts/buffalo-bills
  6. In this conversation, I'm not the one that's clueless. You've got nothing and brought nothing to the table but a couple preseason games, in which he caught a couple of jump ball TDs against nobodies, that's it. He's too slow & doesn't run crisp routes to play WR in the NFL between the 20s(That's the truth). You need to be able to do one or the other to make it in the NFL. His other 2 catches in the Detroit game netted minus 1 yard!!! He couldn't make a team the last 2 years and he may not make this one. If he catches on with this team or another team, he'll never be anything other than a Redzone player they throw jump balls to. If that's all he brings to the table, how long do you think a team keeps him on the 53 man roster?
  7. No drops on what 6 balls lol? One had a catch rate of 54.9% in the NFL, the other had a catch rate of 59.4% in the CFL, which is more impressive? Everyone talks of Duke's great stats in the CFL last year, but it took 143 targets to get them. That would've been good for the 12th most targets last year in the NFL, right behind Michael Thomas and he's no Michael Thomas. He couldn't catch on with an NFL teams the last two years lol. He's not even a shoe-in in his third attempt at this. Once again, with his clear lack of speed, good hands & with him being a good blocker, he should start adding weight and become a TE. I think he would do quite well there.
  8. Yup 8.83 yards a catch against back ups & camp bodies!!! Whew, look out!!!
  9. What did I say that made it sound like Zay beat every team's top corner?? I said what he did, he did AGAINST other team's #1 or #2 CB, week in and week out. Who has Duke done it against in the pros??? A bunch of nobodies. One has a proven track record against the best players in the world and the other couldn't even catch on with an NFL team last year.
  10. Who exactly was getting the other teams #1 & # 2 CBs last year then? Yeah, you'd make a great GM!!!??
  11. I get what you're saying about Duke's improvement, but he doesn't get separation against far lesser talent than what he would see on Sundays in the regular season. Some of the CFL's leading receivers were over 1,700...1,800..1,900 and even 2,000 yards(Multiple times) and still didn't play much, if any, in the NFL. Duke will never be anything more than a Redzone WR in the NFL, if he even makes it. He'd be better off putting on 20-25 pounds and playing TE, where his lack of speed wouldn't be so obvious. JMO.
  12. IMO, thank God you're not a GM!! If you look at Shaw's post, which is what I was responding to, he was talking about Duke's significant accomplishments over Zay's...No?? Outside of the two TD catches, what did Duke's other four catches net? Let's see Duke has 6/53/2. He's averaging 8.83 yards a catch against back ups and guys who won't be playing in the NFL in a week. Unless you're going to catch a 100 balls a year, like Landry, that average isn't going to cut it in the NFL as a WR. Last game he averaged 5 yards a catch lol. Zay has 5/77/0. Like I said outside of the Redzone, Duke has done nothing against terrible competition, Zay was doing it last year against every team's #1 or #2CBs. Zay is far, far more proven.
  13. Since when is leading the CFL as a WR considered more of an accomplishment than starting for any NFL team, let alone catching 7 TDs with crap play from 4 different QBs. Ask any WR which he would rather be , I'm saying 100% are going to say they would've rather had Zay's year than Duke's year. Go look at the list for yearly CFL leaders in Receptions, Yards or TDs over the last 20+ years and you'll find no one who did anything in the NFL, in other words leading the CFL in receiving doesn't translate to being a starting WR in the NFL. The last guy who played in the CFL early in their careers and was good was Joe Horn in the mid 90s. Duke is a jump ball WR and really that's it. He's slow and can't get separation against 3rd & 4th string defenders, so from inside the 20s he's not much of a threat. Go back and look at the TD against Detroit, the guy was right with him, he just didn't have his head turned. If someone like Tre or Gillmore were covering him does he still make the catch??? No, I don't think he does. Zay gets open all the time and with being the third WR it will be even better. I'll take the proven possession WR in this one. Just for the record I don't think Zay is great or anything, but he's a way better option than Duke unless you're in the Redzone.
  14. We'll see, but you're running out of time for that trade to happen.
  15. No I'm not. What I'm saying is pay vs play where you finding what he did last year for what they are paying him? They save very little by getting rid of him in a year we have tons of cap space left. He's worth a roster spot. Also do other players not rack up really good stats vs bad teams? Last year no line, no QB, No running game, no #1 WR and hell throw in no hands, he still did above average.
  16. Well, let's list the QBs he's had in his 2 years here: Tyrod Taylor, Nate Peterman, Derek Anderson, Matt Barkley & rookie QB Josh Allen. Once again for production vs play value where you finding better value? His cap hit is 1.8 million this year and dead cap hit is 1.5 million.
  17. ?? Only if it's a player they like, otherwise it's the old "eye test".??
  18. He was tied for 16th in the league with 7 Tds, even with our pathetic line, running game, QBing and nothing even close to a #1 WR to draw coverage away from him.
  19. Exactly!! He's not great, but as a, most likely #3 WR, he will be much better than the average #3 WR. And he makes next to nothing the next 2 years.
  20. What do you need to see out of Zay? Obviously he's not a #1 WR in the NFL, but I could see him being a good #2 WR in the league. With no #1 WR on the team last year, a bunch of bad QB play from 4 different starters and no running game he had 56 Rec, 652 Yds & 7 TDs with a 1.5 million dollar cap hit. The 7 TDs was tied for 16th in the league last year. That's really, really good value for 1.5 million. He has 2 years left on his contract with cap hits of 1.8 & 2.15 respectfully, there's no good reason to get rid of him when he makes that little.
  21. I don't believe they trade or cut Zay. For what they get out of him & what they are paying him(1.8 million cap hit this year, 2.15 million next) why would you do that? He was tied for 16th in the league last year with 7 TD Rec. with a cap hit of 1.5 million.
  22. With a really bad cast of QBs Zay was 16th in the league for TD receptions. With a cap hit of 1.8 million this year and 2.15 million next year why would you get rid of a player producing as much as he has with really bad QBing and counting that little towards the cap. Keep Zay at least until the end of his rookie contract(Thruogh 2020).
  23. 3 games, 6 catches for 53 yards, what am I missing? Maybe a good redzone target, but outside of the redzone he's not getting open against 3rd & 4th string players. Take last night for example, he had a great 16 yard TD catch over a much smaller defender, his other 2 catches netted -1 yards. He's had 2 good catches in 3 games and people are blown away by that performance, I don't get it.
  24. I'm sorry, but how can a WR who had 15 yards of offense be the "MVP" of the game? I guess nothing screams MVP like achieving 4.2% of the total offense for your team. Duke made a good 16 yard catch against a smaller defender, that's all he did(Besides lose 1 yard on his other 2 catches) for whole the night. Barkley/Edmunds were the offensive & defensive MVPs. Barkley accounted for most of our passing yards, was 12 of 14 passing, averaged 10.1 yards a pass & threw our only passing TD. Edmunds led all players on both teams with 8 tackles and had a TFL.
  25. Maybe because he just quit on a better Franchise, GM, Coach, QB & supporting cast? Why wouldn't he do it again with much, much less?
