Sign Byrd to a prove it deal and hope he plays hard and earns a great deal the following year for someone else to over pay him and him mail it in again.

The team is better than when he got here. Whaley isn't perfect or possibly a quality NFL GM. But, he didn't destroy a team. He has improved it. At least, it is the same. Not destroyed. IMO it is better.

I like Whaley and he has made some mistakes. I think this would be a mistake. Maybe not. But, what i really think is Vic is just swinging for the fences with no facts at all.

That's an interesting thought. Based on players I could pick them. Thought would be which organization is run the best and most consistently to sustain success? Without Brady I am not sure that is the Pats. Maybe Denver? If they find a top 10 QB soon. I would guess Denver or Cowboys and Bills!

I do not like that. That's crossing the line....The Pat's demand respect (Kraft), but, don't respect those who they should. IMO, this starts with Kraft and BB. They remind me of other bullies. They irk me so much. Gretzky, Peyton, Gordie Howe, DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Jeter....That's how great figures conduct themselves. Kraft and Tom don't ,(BB doesn't conduct himself poorly). And, that's fine....but, they act like spoiled children with a sense of entitlement.

I don't think you need to trade for him. It sounds like he will be 4 years and then a FA. So, two more years? He sits out this year and then gets back (at best) to game shape year four of his career. Then FA with upside and risk. Signs a back up contract. So, no reason to trade for him. Maybe cash, so, he can learn with the team and staff if you want him or a 7th rounder? Or we could trade them Crash Davis for him....Who are you? "I am the player to be named later"
