  1. Thread should be better in second half as all the haters are either gone now or will say Allen was lucky when we win.
  2. they haven't been on the field because NE has had the ball the whole half. figure it out
  3. He reminds me of Dick Allen in baseball, and not being in the HOF. Looking at his numbers and awards there is every reason to think he should be in. But as Bill James said, "no player ever did more to help his team lose".
  4. I think it is for fun, and each generation just wants to see they're heroes recognized. The only thing you can really do it is to see how they stack up within their own eras.
  5. Personally, I wish they had broken them up into eras. Maybe something like pre 1950 is the first era, two platoon football and the african american players starting around then. Pick the 2 best guys or something, then 1950-1969 the AFL and TV era where modern ball was formed ,pick 2-3 guys. 1970-1989, pick 3 or 4 guys, 1990-onward pick or 4 or 5 guys. Something like that.
  6. So did you really think they were going to pick a 100th anniversary team and only put in the guys from the last 20 years.

  8. Usually I have a difficult time with the really old guys like Dutch Clark at RB. However, hard to leave Don Hutson off, first really great receiver. I think they did a good job, but I would have taken off Largent (fine player) and added Calvin Johnson. Paul Warfield is a no brainer from his era. Marvin Harrison was terrific as well with the single season 143 catches record. Lance Alworth was incredible glad he made it. Could care less about Owens, I think the guys a loser and wouldn't want him on my team. JMO
  9. Don't worry they're out there.
  10. These kinds of stats prove nothing. At one time before Emmit Smith, it was said you couldn't win the SB with the NFLs leading rusher. Then along comes Emmit and bingo Cowboys win, and then TerrellDavis... The point about getting an arbitrary 300 yards passing has nothing to do with whether a team can win the SB.
  11. That's the biggest key to this game is ball security, the second biggest is special teams need to fight to a draw at least, and don't give the refs anything (like Jerry, Shaq, Jordan etc.) mouthing off.
  12. Essentially this is a boxing axiom at play, "you have to knockout the champ to be the champ!" Basically don't expect the decision, you need to be better.
  13. Nice to have a coach who doesn't blow leads and gets the win in spite of fans wanting him to air it out. Must be one of the reasons he's a successful NFL coach.
  14. He has been a critic, especially of Allen. If he is indeed coming around, I say kudos to him. Tired of these stubborn, die on this hill, protect my narrative at all costs types.
  15. Paywall? I was able to read it! Not a great article, just the usual Josh Allen is wildly inaccurate, still the same guy he was in week 4 and Pats don't need to change anything, hes a good athlete and runner but not fast like Watson and Jackson. Thinks Pats won't have much problem because he's a turnover machine.
  16. This in spades, those teams quit in several games. The culture absolutely had to change.
  17. Where is jrober to tell us he is a bottom tier QB and back it with his QBR.
  18. Big surprise coming from you
  19. How long is Dougs contract? If he has anything owed to him I'll vomit.
