  1. I'm not buying what you're selling about the Titans, they've been holding workouts
  2. I seriously doubt they are out of shape and not getting treatment for injury
  3. You think this place is a cesspool, the Sabres site makes this place look civil. Cursing, name-calling, pontificating you name it.
  4. This actually happened in baseball because of the 1972 baseball lockout. Tigers finished 86-70 and Red Sox 85-70....guess who made the playoffs
  5. It gets to the point of really impacting competitve balance for other teams
  6. Maybe the NFL should fine the Titans the amount needed to pay the Bills
  7. Hated across the league like the Astros. and they did originate in Houston
  8. I disagree, and I'm no apologist for the league, Baseball had a problem with the Marlins and Cardinals. How they handle the Titans is the biggest question yet to be determined. Still salavageable as one team of lunkheads caused the problem.
  9. Yeah they don't need to make a decision at this point. The biggest question is where does it go for the Titans?
  10. I think the NFL will postpone the Bills game for now, on to Kansas City, the league will figure out the Titans situation. As for any final conclusions about the Titans game, they'll postpone and see where it goes, may not even need to make it up or the league assigns a forfeit at the end to have the games add up to 16.
  11. I think they'll shut the Titans down. If they can or need to make up the game, deal with it down the road.
  12. I'll say it again, don't overreact, the NFL world has one team that was cavalier about following protocol. Why are the other 31 teams forced to accomodate their screw up? Send a message, violate protocol and have a breakout, and we aren't shuffling the whole world around for you. The protocol seems to work for everyone else when followed, remind everyone that to have a season this is what we need to do. Ridiculous to shut down for 2 works unless there are multiple breakouts. Don' t reward where there is no reason too. Rest of league: no postive tests. Titans SIX days in a row!
  13. Instead of moving teams/games around to accomodate the Titans the NFL needed to take a stance. Somehow the other teams in the league have managed to stay "clean" or close to it. With 15 people testing positive it's not as simple as someone contracting it by going home to child/spouse. They had to have either violated protocols of been cavalier somehow. Take a stance, set a precedent, and make teams/players realize that there are consequences. Instead they do the usual and treat them as victims and accomodate them. This isn't draconian, its simple common sense. How did the other teams manage it so far without problem?
  14. This a really good point! Yes he had heart, but he also had a ton of talent and a tremendous lack of experience compared to most high picks. What that says is he had a lot of room to get better, thus a really high ceiling.
  15. I'm not sure who the draft experts who said those things were, but I know they're out there. Not everyone missed, Mel Kiper had him as the number 1 pick potentially the year before. Others like our very own Bandit as well. One group who completely got it wrong and continues to qualify anything good about Josh Allen, such as calling him a unicorn, is the stats model crowds. They're lost if they can't look at a guys a stats and see who fits the model- Baker Mayfield anyone. Allen had no such numbers and requires thorough old-school evaluation and imagination as to what he could be potentially. Film work and getting to know the athlete and his makeup are important. It is not a simple as a model.
  16. Ballsy post by the OP, he knew he would get push back and still made his opinion known with strong analysis. I think the end of an era thing my be somewhat hyperbolic-by design? I'm not sure. Personally, I've always though many of the same things, and worry about him getting hurt. Once he starts getting hurt it likely won't end either. The comparison to Josh is interesting in the fact that Buffalo, Daboll, Allen et al seem to be evolving by adding pieces and moving towards a more traditional QB led offense combined with using the newer taking advantage of the movement skills of a great athlete. The league always adjust to players and what looks unstoppable like Lamar last year will have to adjust. Greg Roman IMO has always shown a nice ability to build around what he has. Whether he can take it to another level is another question. What if this model they're using with Jackson doesn't have anywhere to go unless he improves certain elements of his game? I think Shaw66 may be on to something I've noticed since the end of last year as well. The league is figuring it out and some teams will be able to handle it, others with weaker talent may not at first thus still good numbers sometimes for Jackson. Has there ever been a team with a QB quite like this win the Super Bowl? It remains to be seen, there is a reason NFL coaches prefer the Mahomes, Allen model. The days of a statue QB are over, they want movement skills. But, they also realize you have to be able to attack certain areas on the better squads in particular. Great post!
  17. Of all the draft gurus on 2BD, some of whom had 3rd round grade on Josh, or liked Rudolph better.......Bandit deserves alot of credit as he was always on Josh Allen.
