  1. The more I hear McD this season the more he sounds like a politician. If the offense goes on under Brady and plays better and Josh performs better, and they still miss the playoffs. It'll be we cant dig hole a for ourselves to start the season. And, of course the ready made injuries on defense, but that we performed heroically. We being the operative word, he's part of the defense, not the offense because they just haven't complimented the rest of the team by playing his style. News for Sean the Special Teams have arguably cost 2 games. And the defense hasn't been able to protect alead 2x in the fourth Qtr. NEWS FLASH Sean ! It's whole team and you're the boss so act like it, not like a coordinator turned politician.
  2. I think McD was happy to talk about how it all starts with him when we were winning. I've seen a McD this season who acts like he's in a self-salvation mode. The losing and pressure are apparent in this whole organization right now. And, I see a leader who is playing to a mantra of the "buck stops below me". Sorry but's that what I take, not just from his comments this year, but moreso the actions.
  3. Ben Johnson for Head Coach
  4. Another screw up by Josh as he makes an amazing throw and its dropped
  5. He is not a rookie OC
  6. Great article ! this is what I'm seeing as well. It goes right to the McDermott/Daboll divide. Teams take on the personality of their coach and it couldn't be more true in this case.
  7. There is probably some truth to what he's saying but it's no secret the offense is better than the defense. They have a bunch of injuries and need an elite, not a very good, offense to win. Using Daboll's games as a barometer isn't useful IMO. Daboll built the offense. So Dorsey hasn't completely ***** the offense up, sure. But a simple explanation for the trend is that Josh has become a more consistent decision maker over his last 25 games as he enters his prime and they have a top 5 offense in football because he and Diggs show up to the field on game day. EPA per play being top 5 over a large sample size is not the same thing as putting teams on their heels, or blowing their doors off before they can get us into a tight game. There is more to these sports than the metrics and being top 5 in efficiency simply won't cut it right now. What would people have said about Manning or Rodgers or Mahomes teams aiming to have the 5th most efficient offense in football? They'd say that's a down year and the team will be in some trouble unless the defense is fantastic. I think the problem is that they play conservatively because they have a HC who loves his defense and wants to win by getting more out of his whole roster than relying on his stars. There is too much pressure on a ***** defense. It's stubbornness. Now the defense is unreliable, it's on the field all the time, they don't have a huge margin for error, and so losing turnover battles, getting behind in games, is hurting them. They would be much better off with an offense that was utterly fearsome, played fast, and ended games early. They go no huddle for the first half on Sunday and they win. Too many mediocre first halves on offense this year. Need to force other teams out of their comfort zone. These are still human beings out there who do worse when they're tight. They play like the Bills of 2017 lately but they don't have Tyrod Taylor. They have a weapon in Allen that says top 3 offense in the league or you're ***** up.
  8. Not that the analytics models are perfect, but I've felt for quite a while going back to last season that our defense has gotten off too easy. Some, especially on this board, always think it's the offenses job to "win the game". Our defense and McD (even considering the injuries) have been falling off. I think our offense and Josh have plateaued in the current situation. We never add a bonafide #2, we've had a marginal O line and we have a great QB who they're trying to rein in as a runner. The defense has been aging and suffering from missed personnel additions. I also think it's pretty clear that "complimentary football" from McD represents a true lack of confidence in his defense. His level of accountability with his unit hasn't been high enough and blaming the offense is always a built in excuse. Get some damn turnovers defense!
  9. He's not a premature XXXXXXXXXX like he was when he was young. Can hold off now and this really satisfies McDermott to no end. Sean was always critical of Josh not being patient enough and just going off too soon in the past. Now he loves it.
  10. He's lost them both already. He has his built in scape goats, injuries on defense and Dorsey
  11. "get in rythmn" I agree he has lost the team. It's been heading that way since 13 secs. An unpardonable error.
  12. Lack of true #2. Davis Poor concepts in passing game. Coaching O Line Play. Spencer Brown pass blocking.
  13. Super great post here!
  14. Don't hold your breath about major changes. Yeah we should completely fall apart and be worst in league. NOT!!!
  15. How about force a turnover once in awhile. 1 in last 5 games.
  16. Yes 1 in 5 games
  17. BOO!!!! Guys, it's not offense vs defense. This team is just not as good as it was at one time. Both units are extremely inconsistent and the coaching bears much of the responsibility. I mean it's not good enough to let the other team march up and down the field and fall behind. And then when the offense has a great start to the game to change what your doing and hibernate until later in the game. And then for the D to be unable to deliver another key stop. It all isn't good enough and that's on the staff to figure out.
  18. All of these things can be true at the same time. It isn't an either or of OvD or Dorsey, Frazier, McD, or Beane etc. McDermott/Beane built a good team and culture beginning in 2017. McDermott, Frazier and the ST Coordinator committed the unpardonable sin of the blowing the 13 sec game in Kansas City in 2021. We started to wonder if McD was Marty Schottenheimer reincarnate (great in regular season, lacking big time in playoffs) Last year we started like a house on fire with the addition of Von Miller and the belief that the previous year was behind us and we would continue to be contenders. Then in 2022 A bunch of injuries occurred which hadn't really been a big issue in prior seasons. We experienced adversity on and off the field. We discovered that we didn't have the depth the team believed we did. Teams adjusted to our offense and defense. Our O-coordinator is an unproven guy as OC who had no prior record of adjusting as teams figured him out. And, our old DC continued to fade into his old ways and got fired by HC. In 2023, we've finally started to admit that our coaching staff is more of a one trick pony and really lacks the intelligence many of the other successful teams around the NFL have. We watched a well coached Cincinnati team dismantle us again despite having ample time to prepare. I'll leave you with " the safety is blitzing", how many times did we hear that last night and our blitz didn't get home. And, why did our offense change so much after the first drive? And, why is the coach when asked at halftime why his defense was pushed around the whole first ( to the point it took us out of running game because we fell behind and knew we had to score), why does he respond with " well I thought we really started to adjust the last couple series and we need to play better complimentary football we were left in bad field positions"? I'll tell you what I think, McDermott should take more accountability! That was not the right answer to give. Finally, Marty Schottenheimer built 3 great programs......... He never won a thing. It happens.
  19. Why is no one getting open? Concepts?
  20. Can both these teams lose? I genuinely despise both. both fall to 6 and 3 please.
  21. Miami is most unlikeable team for me
  22. My father in law sure fits the description.
