  1. This is the perplexing part to me! I might even add Incognito to that list. I have always felt that in a rebuild, and it is one, you don't want the process to include becoming one of the oldest teams in the league. The best thing about a young player is the hope he can improve and be a quality player (Milano). McBeane and the crew seem to latch on players like Humber who have been deemed non quality starters by the rest of the league. They do this I believe because these guys like Ramon will buy into anything to start. Perhaps you can find success occasionally in a case or two (Alexander last year). But, a steady diet of this recipe is not going to work. It is a path to mediocrity at best, what we see now at worst. Talent matters.
  2. I think McDermott has a HUGE hill to climb and winning is the only cure for that. And, I have no confidence that he can do that this season. He will try...It's his job...but the toothpaste is out of the tube.
  3. This team isn't strong enough to support a rookie QB making his first start.
  4. At this point I want us to do 1 of 2 things. 1.Find a way to draft Josh Rosen 2. Trade for Andrew Luck
  5. Looks like we shoulda just hired the interim and continued on. Pegulas looking worse and worse all the time.
  6. Maybe Tyrod, 2 number 1s and a 2019 #1......and 202x....... Yeah I don't think so.
  7. Rosen throws the best ball I've seen in college this year. He looks like the guy you want in this draft. He's smart and can move enough.
  8. So is your position that you would be fine with, being suspended for 6 games with lost the paychecks from your job ,because someone accused you of being a miscreant? And, BTW I do think it is reasonable to at least be charged with a crime before your rep is tarnished. Oh I'm aware of the way these things. I'm playing a bit of a devil's advocate here. Our freedoms are being stripped from us every so discreetly. On one hand the employer is saying it is bad PR for the business for employeeXYZ to be accused of.......therefore, we will get them to agree to .......blah blah blah. On the other hand, would you be happy being removed from you job for something you may very well be completely innocent of. This is a fine line and some seem very content to sign away their due process (or other peoples). My feeling is it may be too far and in fact some may have know idea what they are signing up for.
  9. No that was the system that he played in.
  10. He also played for a team that only threw the ball over 25x 4 times in 12 games last year. And, when he threw it more than that he got close to or over 300 and his average per attempt was actually quite good. His 2 highs were only 35 and 37 attempts.
  11. http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/ Does Vegas and Bettors have an idea what to do with this game? Opened at 4.5 moved to 5 5.5 then moved down to 4..even 3.5. Now it has it anywhere from 3 to 6 pts. The Peterman effect!
  12. I don't really care for Jerry, but he is taking up the fight against Goodell...who I like even less. I get all the collective bargain stuff YADA YADA. I'm not privy to the particulars of the agreement, but do you know if the union leadership REALLY knew what it was signing up for with this guilty until proven innocent policy. You know we do our own investigation and Roger acts as Judge, Jury and Executioner, in spite of what the legal system says. See my post to #26. I'm talking right and wrong...not well ......they collectively bargained.
  13. I hope Jerry kicks their asses all over court. It is absolute BS that the NFL is in the business of suspending and taking money from people who have not been convicted and in some cases not even charged. The Goodell policy of conducting investigations to placate, and catering to those who believe by applying pressure to institutions they can further their agendas, is pandering at the worst level. Goodell is despicable and should be fired from his 50 M /private jet job. Their are a at least a 1000 people out in the world who could do what he does better and for a lot cheaper.
  14. I'm wondering if the Michael Vick comments to Tyrod about being himself might have hurt. It seemed to me that the next game after(Oakland I think). Tyrod was being himself scrambling around and holding the ball and making chunk plays with his arm and legs. He had not been playing that way. Clearly this can work against the right team in the right situation...but is it sustainable. I say no its not. We have seen this roller coaster with him for 40+ games now. When a team is able to crack down on this style and control the line of scrimmage his goose is cooked.
  15. I actually think there is a pretty decent chance he has a good game, and a very small chance he doesn't. For starters I keep hearing from many on this site how great San Diego is on defense. Yes they have Bosa and Ingram on the edges, but they are also last against the run with 4.6/carry and upwards of 135-140 yds/game I can't quite remember exactly. Their overall pass defense is middling and the overall defense is below average. I think even though he is a rookie and inexperienced the Chargers could end up frustrated if Dennison plays it smart....I think he will. Quick short passes and the running game could be a successful ticket. My biggest worry was falling behind with our defense, but another myth on this board is how great the Chargers Offense is....you look it up this is not an impressive team. They have some names but are not getting great production. Go NP!
  16. I think there were plentiful big mouths around who couldn't keep a secret. People have mentioned several already.
  17. I've come to the conclusion that nobody, including scouts, can make forecasts about QBs. We've seen first rounders who were supposed to be great who couldn't play. We've seen QBs who were not first rounders do very well. The only thing I will say about a fifth rounder is the odds are against you becoming elite. Usually, the elite guys are first rounders....but not always. So much of it is luck after all. You can work hard and do the right things and boom an injury. You can have an OC/HC who just decide they don't like the way you look. Good Luck Nate...I'm rooting for you.
  18. This is a good post Pimpin. Interesting take and one that you don't hear.
  19. Funny you should say that as I've been thinking the same thing all day.
  20. You're right ..my bad. It was Marquise Williams that beat out Trubisky.
  21. Good enough to trade Luck to us when he's healthy..I hope....If ever
  22. Kinda like Jacoby Brissett beat out Mitchell Trubisky
