  1. Strange but true.
  2. My sources tell me that Soprano was one of the league sources in the article.
  3. File this under Urban Legend.
  4. My brain still hurts from watching that movie.
  5. There are a lot of excellent meteorology programs to choose from. If you want to stay in the NE I would look strongly at Penn State. IMO they have one of the best undergraduate programs in the country. I graduated from SUNY Oswego. In contrast to Penn State which has one of the larger programs, the progam there is small and you can a lot of face time with your profs/advsior etc. SUNY Albany has the advantage of both undergraduate and graduate programs and probabley is the best of the SUNY meteorology programs. Rutgers and Cornell also have solid programs. Lyndon State in Vermont has a reputation for graduating lots of broadcast meteorologists. In the south I would look at FSU and NC State. One word of advice. You better like math PM me if you would like more information. FWIW I think Rich 'n' Joisey is a meteorologist as well. Good luck with your studies.
  6. Soprano told me it's a done deal.
  7. I'm a Senior Forecaster. Basically I'm the shift supervisor and also issue all the different forecasts, warnings etc. Do you go to Florida State? We have several forecasters who graduated from FSU at my office including the boss. They have a pretty good meteorology department from what I hear. I am a science "dork" too and am fascinated by your line of work. Do you get to publish a lot of research papers? I think it's great you will be going for your Phd, that takes a lot of dedication and smarts. Good luck to you.
  8. Bring on Ottawa!!!
  9. That actually sounds interesting to me Ramius. Do you have an advanced degree?
  10. Guff, condolences to you and your friends family. Mike sounded like a great friend and a lot of fun. Sorry to hear of the loss of a fellow Bills Fan. RIP.
  11. National Weather Service
  12. There's a ballet in Canada thats looking for dancers
  13. She's gotta nice meatballs there
  14. Maybe you can David Lynch to direct it.
  15. I'm not really into rap but "Hard Knock Life" by Jay-Z is pretty good.
  16. How about Clay Aiken?
  17. Top shelf where Momma keeps the cookies! Congrtaulations Nick.
  18. It was sad to see him lying through his teeth last night. The reporters were handling him with kid gloves IMO.
  19. Did you see last nights press conference? Gretzky denied any knowledge of the betting ring or his wifes participation in betting. He said they talked last night but not about her possible involvement. WTF, he expects us to believe in the tooth ferry? His wife drops $500K in bets and he doesn't know about it? His wife is implicated in the biggest scandel in hockey and when they talk on the phone right after the story breaks he never discuss her involvement in the scandel with her?? Yeah right Wayne. He had the look of man with liftetimes worth of credibility about to be flushed down the toilet. This is terrible, terrible news for hockey.
  20. I lost what little respect I had left for Maguire, Theismen, and Patrick after the Ted Bruschi ball washing, that was supposed to be the Bills-Patriots game. That whiny voiced Suzy Kolber should go too. Did you see her hair style on the Super Bowl broadcast? It looked strands of mop placed upon her head.
  21. 1 silent thread post for the burnt out lightbulb.
  22. I'm really looking forward to that week 6 matchip You hit the nail on the head. So many of the MNF football games turn out to be borefests because of the lineups. The ideal situation would allow for flexiable matchups so that a decent game could picked from each weeks games instead trying to figure out 1 year in advance who the good teams are going to be. This would cause problems for CBS and FOX though because they could be losing one of their marque mtacups for that week.
  23. If you continue to post well thought out, intelligent posts, we are going to have to ask you to leave.
