  1. Maybe we try to get Willis and Poszluzny. But, I get the feeling that the Jauron really believes in Ellison as WOLB. Maybe we take another LB in the later rounds but probably not 2 in rnd 1. They love DT's in waves not LB's. I think that may also be very comfortable with Wire as the 3rd OLB. So, if we try to get 2 1st rounders I would say DT/LB or LB/RB or RB/DT (only if we still keep our 2nd this year for an LB) and so I am betting we wait until the 3rd for a CB. Just my opinion though... Go Bills!
  2. Buddy Nix. Scout for the Bills in a sports bar in Durham, NC. We sat at the same table and watched the opener in 1997 (first start of Todd Collins reign). He is in SD now. Cool guy. I ask him how he is a big Bills fan with that deep southern accent and he flips me a business card and asks me not to tell the mob of Bills fans there. Nice guy. I did mention I like Tiki Barber better than Ant. Smith and he said he like Tiki but Smith had incredible size and speed. Both guys were his responsibility b/c he did scout Texas and Virginia and all the key schools in Texas and East in the South. I politely just said based on what I saw in the Senior bowl I love Tiki. He thought he might not be an every down back. Guess I need a new job... Go Bills!
  3. They did not break it for me. Peterson is 1A and Lynch is 1b. They head and shoulders above what I just saw on the guys you have listed. A Pittman is the next best b/c of his threat to go all the way. needs to be better blocker and receiver but can learn and get better in pros. I'd take him with our second. B Jackson: very nice player butno home run threat. I'd take him in the top of the third. M Bush: Seems good but I don;t like his style. He will go much higher but for me, a 4th rounder... T Hunt is an anthony Thomas clone. Nice player but I thunk we should do better. D Walker: Not bad but not mt starting RB in the NFl and that is what we need. I'd take Pittman, Jackson, AP, or ML. That is who I like and want. I trust Marv and I am betting he'll take someone else... he loves to surprise!
  4. Yah. and he left is Seifert's hippy bus smokin a blunt with Mike Shermin riding shotgun!
  5. Plus he is EFFECTIVE. not very good or great. Willis is good at power, speed, some moves, and breaking outside for long runs. He is Good. We shall see what is he and all can give a real assessment next january....
  6. If we stay at #12. I would say even with trades that 3:00 would be the latest. 15 mins per pick but often teams dont use it all. Teams will get 15 mins more if they trade for a pick though. I'd say 2:15-3:00 is my estimate IF they stay at #12. You could always get a jump start and listen to it on ESPN radio and stop at a sports bar or pub or other to get ESPN when they are at #9 or #10.
  7. From what I saw at the combine, A Peterson is a very good receiver. He just never had a chance to show it at Okl. I like Lynch though. The guy just runs violently with speed, moves, power, vision, and a good receiver. AP is more smooth as far as his moves and power is concerned. Probably a better long-term RB...
  8. My guess is it would take an additional 5th or 4th or 3rd (probably the Raven's 3rd next yr to lock it up) next year to get it done. I believe that the Cardinals might be the right team. The only problem is trading to the 5 spot will put pressure on our cash to cap philosphy. I know we would probably spread the bonus over two years like D Whitner. However still losing the 2nd rnder will probably not offset the bigger bucks that we need to spend to sign the 5th over the 12th. I'd love it though. Then in the 2 3rd's and the 4th we try to draft the best of: LB, CB, DT, S, FB, WR The board never falls that way but if chosen in order of need that would be perfect. LB 3rd, CB 3rd, DT 4th, S 6th, FB 7th, WR 7th I bet we don't take a TE unless it is in 6th- 7th and Marv just loves the value versus the other positions. Peace! Go Bills!
  9. I LOVE the guy that Marv picks b/c he will want the next Thurman Thomas: My guess is one of the following though this is a shot gun approach so no points if I hit. A Peterson -will be a very good pass receiver and is a great runner M Lynch -very good all around A Pittman -although I am not sure about his receiving skills M Bush -maybe, but I don't like big backs like him personally L Booker -always keep an Anthony Thomas type guy around and use Booker like W Dunn and R Bush (Very poor man's version but still) Your Mamma! -Marv's pick that I did not list. Go Bills!
  10. Oh, yah, Marv does not zero in... Oh, but he does. Donte Whitner Kyle Williams almost in Rnd 4 instead 5. Not saying I diagree with the strategy to not do it but I do think Marv does do it some. No doubt.
  11. Put it where the sun don't shine instead of Scott tissue paper.... It might be softer! Sorry
  12. Agree. I want M Lynch or A Pittman in this draft. If A Pittman I say trade down or up to mid 2nd and get him. Before GB at 16 to get M Lynch!
  13. No. He has 4 options BEFORE the draft. C Brown A Thomas C Dillion D Rhodes We will sign 1 of those most likely and Draft 1 or 2 (FB like the guy from Rutgers) more.
  14. Nate is the bigger hitter but A Winfield was a much more consistent hitter/tackler. Man, when starts those tackling sprees in is just plain fun to watch! Submarines those guys legs at high speeds and thy just fly. Great stuff and I miss him... I will miss Nate too except when it is "time to knock it down!" and win a game. Go Bills!
  15. I am betting that we don't get any LB's in free agency and head into the draft looking for an LB in rnd 1 or 2. I hope marv and Dick really don't like Crowell in the middle enough to surprise us with Paul Pulunosky (sp?) at 12 or even 22 for that matter. I admit. I have never seen him play but from what I have read I really don't like his lack of big play ability. Just my humble opinion...
  16. he may. I bet they let Pennington, Butler, and Walker compete for RT and Butler/Walker loser(s) at RT compete with Whittle and Mertz (yeah right -probably 4th G and 2nd C) for the RG spot. That is the way they run camp. Now by early training camp it may already be decided or close to but they make you win the job! I like it!
  17. Exactly. But, I think we might sign a CB (K Thomas or other) and maybe a backup RB (A Thomas or other). Then it is all D (LB, CB, DT) and RB in the draft in first 4 rounds of the draft. I do believe when we get to 6th or 7th a QB is probable (and smart) and then the best athlete available at WR, TE, or S. If we trade Spikes or Willis we get an extra pick or two. My bet is Spikes cant be traded b/c or injury and high salary and so they cut him. Not that I love that move just think marv and dick do it based on comments so far. Anyway, maybe we get a 1st, 2nd , 3rd and 2 4ths in we trade Willis then getting LB, CB, DT and RB in first 4 rounds is no problem. best value for the 5th 1-4 rnd pick. Much much younger team on D but a nice veteran team on O with the OL pick ups!!!! Go Bills! P.S. Anybody else think that Royal and Cislack (especially Ceislack) will surprise with receiving numbers/impactthis year? I like how Losman ( found Ceislack last yr... nice chemistry.
  18. Huh? Link Please! I don't see it with their zone blocking scheme. Just me though.... Link!
  19. QUOTE(BenchBledsoe @ Mar 2 2007, 05:51 PM) Well, I predicted some of this backlash. But, I'm just the messenger. Interesting that nobody liked this post, but aren't coming up with much to dispute the blunt facts of it. Trust me, it doesn't make me happy to see this either. I'm as sick as the next Bills fan, if not more so. Might I also add that the FACT is we have signed two G's as of this writing. One that should certainly be a very nice upgrade at LG (Dockery) and the other (Whittle) being quality depth or worse case training camp competition for other, younger G's. Also, FACT is we will not "release" Whittle next off season. He signed a 1 yr contract to play/compete for 1 year. If we want we can try to sign him again. Not a huge risk. Spikes = still on the team as of now. Fact. Regardless, why would they release him if they could not fit a better player for their D scheme for a much better price? Oh, they would not? Unless Marv turned into an idiot overnight. Clements = Gone go to Draft or Youboty or K Thomas or FA signing for better value and improve the other positions in the D Fletcher-Baker = will not be back most likely. Rnd 1 or 2 pick that better fits our D long-term and is younger. I love'd the guy but he is going to get huge jack from Washington that makes moving on to our 1st or 2nd rnd pick (P Willis or other) the better option for the team, IMHO. McGahee = FACT is he is on our team. we will see if he pokes another baby momma while training hard in Miami but I bet it is 50-50 he says very nice things about the OLmoves in Buffalo and comes back for another year. His last. If not, we get a 4th or 3rd for him. I'd be happy with that and then take an RB in round 1 thru 4. K Thomas = we will see. was nice depth so would need a pick or Fa signing to replace him but I have not heard he is signed by someone else yet although probably will. Answer for his loss (potential) is TBD. FACT is Ellison played very well as a rookie and will get better. Last I looked the very highly touted Briggs and June options were not 1 st rounder but lower like him. Impossible to be a very good player and a pro bowler? No! Fact is the Bills brain trust feels the guy will be good. period. How good WILL he be? We don't know. So lets watch and enjoy! Overpaying for P Price, Kelsay, Royal, Reed? The ONLY one that could cost us in the future b/c of the investment is Kelsay. While we might have over paid for those guys, FACT is they are relatively cheap allowing us to spend Cash To Cap. I'd be more worried about "great" signings like Dockery today. I love it but it is a huge investment that can hurt you later if injuries occur or play is not up to pay. Am I saying we are definitely better? NO! But we very well could be and Marv has proved he can draft players that play and play pretty well. We shall see brother! Peace! Go Bills!
  20. jesus? No! He is worth more than money. Nate is a very good player just hope Marv's hex does not get him like back in the good old days when he was coach. N Odames, Ballard, ....can't remember them all but sure enough most all got hurt and/or flopped except W Wolford!

  22. Listen. The guy did not name names. He just stated that we didn't have a good OL last year. It was improved but compared to the league, it was average or maybe a little under average. Listen, I am not a McGahee fan anymore and soured on him in the 2005 season but did and still will root for the guy in a Bills uniform but I honestly would trade him for a mid to high 4th in a heart beat. I'd rather see A train, Shaud Williams, and a draft pick playing RB next year no matter what round we get the guy in. period. Just my opinion and feelings...
  23. Agreed. Not gonna happen. In fact I'll help you make it... The only GM/owner I know crazy enough to do that is Al Davis and he won't even consider i tb/c he has the 1st pick in the second. Now if he had a late 2nd I guess that miracle is SLIGHTLY possible.
