  1. NOT this year! Not with Revis on the Patriots roster. He does have his number, and this is our year to beat the pats. Next year, yes, absolutely trade him. We won't need him them.
  2. Miami is too unstable, and Tannehill can't be trusted. The Jets offense sucks but they're good enough on defense. If the O-line gets upgraded and we get a good #1 Receiver, I like the Bills chances to take down the Pats.
  3. The only veteran worthy of consideration is Fitzpatrick, just on experience and smarts alone to help EJ & Thad. One year is all we need from him.
  4. Given the fact that Byrd's picks were mostly against lesser QB's (except Rothlisberger), the secondary won't be as bad off as some think it will. Yes he will be missed, but the defense overall will continue to progress with or without him. I'd still love to see Mack fall to #9 and we get him, but if not, OL and a #1 receiver are still the priorities for the draft.
  5. I like Thad as the #2. Keep him there and bring in a veteran to push him and EJ anyway.
  6. I'm in agreement, bring him back if it can be done. He's a veteran backup with enough experience as a starter to help EJ & Thad along. If either (or both) QB's goes down, I'd feel better with him as insurance over Tuel & Dixon.
  7. That takes a lot of guts to do what he did. Gotta respect him for that. As long as the guy can play on the field, who cares who he sleeps with off the field? The only person he has to wake up with is himself! As long as he has no problem with the person he sees in the mirror, who are we to judge? Once the wistle blows, he's a player just like any other player on the field, and what his preferences are off the field don't matter. Play on Michael!! Somebody is going to draft him high anyway.
  8. I'm all for Wade Phillips. And say what you want about Gregg Williams, his defenses are usually aggressive and in the top 10 as well. I wouldn't object to giving him a second chance if we can't get Wade back.
  9. Really sucks that when DeHaven was coaching the Bills Special teams the first time, he was fired and replaced with the worst ST coach in team history (Ronnie Jones) who happened to be a buddy of Wade Phillips. Then he comes back for a second time around, and what happens? he's canned again - and replaced with the SECOND worst ST coach in Bills history (Crossman) who happens to be a buddy of Doug Marrone. Personnaly, I miss Bobby April.
  10. Let's keep in mind that they're working with a first time NFL HC, First time NFL OC, a rookie QB, and an inexperienced but decent backup (both have upsides to build on). Did you really expect them to be playoff caliber this year? Really? Seriously?? This was strictly a rebuilding an evaluation year - nothing more. Before the Bills of Levy & Kelly became 4 time AFC Champs, they were the Bickering Bills (yeah, they sucked too in the beginning). This team has something to build on, and they are going to build a winner this time around. It's just not going to happen overnight, but I do think if they have another draft class like the last one, they're going to challenge for a wild card spot next season. They're putting the pieces in place. I can see them taking the division in 2015 (2014 will be a challenge for a wild card only).
  11. Absolutely KEEP Carpenter. Add a big physical WR and another TE to compete with Stevie & Chandler, upgrade the guard positions, bring in a solid veteran QB to help EJ & Thad develop, put Hackett on the hot seat for next year, and for Christ's sake GET A REAL ST COACH!!!! Crossman is #2 right behind Ronnie Jones as the worst Special Teams coach in team history
  12. I cam remember when they were worse than this, when Wade Phillips hired his buddy Ronnie Jones. Crossman is #2 behind him. Send him on his way.
  13. I like him as the #2 as well. He has room for improvement but then again, so does most of the offense. I say keep and develop him.
  14. Granted, CJ is a very dynamic back, and a threat to break a long one whenever he touches the ball, but Jackson is still the man that gets the tough yards inside and moves the chains. At his age, he doesn't need to start but he's still needs to get the ball. Spiller needs to be used better (screens, swing passes, slants, etc...), and some packages with both in the backfield would make it even tougher on opposing defenses.
  15. I'm thinking they should at least give him (and Troupe) a fair chance to compete in training camp before cutting them both loose or working out a trade for whatever they can get for either or both.
  16. OK naysayers, we'll revisit this when the Bills are contending for a wild card spot next season. As I recall last season, the D sucked badly, this year, they are much much better. The offense is a rebuild but they're going to add to it, and with a season of experience for the newbies, oh yeah, they're going to contend for a playoff spot right up to game 16. Patriots may not be ready to give up the title yet, but the gap is closing. One more draft like the last one ought to do it. All you fair weather fans will be right back on the bandwagon next year next to the diehards when we're back in the playoffs.
  17. 1st time head coach, rookie QB & OC, and they're not going to finish with a losing record within the division. They also have a shot at a winning record within the division. It's definitely something to build on. I like where this team is going - especially if they can beat the Patriots on the road or take it down to the last play like they did in the first game. I wonder how much better this years team would have been if Chan Gailey was the OC instead of the head coach.... IJS. Have faith Bills Nation, this ain't the team of past head coaches, they're going to be serious contenders once the offense catches up to the defense..
  18. I didn't think Jim Kelly was that much better in his first year here - even with his USFL experience.. He had to take his lumps and learn back then just like these guys have to now. Let's not rush to judgement on either of them right now, it's too soon to tell.
  19. I couldn't agree more. Goodwin is a threat that MUST be respected! He eliminates the option of defenses putting 8 in the box when he's on the field, nobody can go one on one with him, he'll blow by them for a deep score every time.
  20. I agree, this has the makings of a very good team (and coaching staff) that has to take its lumps and learn before they can become contenders. They're clearly headed in the right direction, and are much better to watch than the teams of the last 13 years. You're not alone, I BILLieve in this team too. They're going places once they come out of the learning stage,
