  1. In a situation like that, you go with the veteran (Carpenter).
  2. I've always liked Norv Turner as an OC. And for some odd reason, Chan Gailey has always had a knack get getting as much as he can get out of QB's who have no business being starters. I think Hackett is going to be a very good OC one day, just not right now. He's still going through the learning curve.
  3. Cutler's clearly not what he once was, but if he can fit in with the team and provide an upgrade over what we have now, why not see if a change in scenery will benefit both us and him if the price is right?
  4. After further review ..... he wasn't going to make it anyway
  5. I'm with you on that one. Punting and trusting the defense to get the stop further downfield was the correct call as opposed to risking another screwup and giving the Broncos a very short field to work with. They could have bought themselves more time by moving their butts downfield and lining up faster than what they did. Now the 4th down gamble in the 1st qtr at 0-0, THAT'S the one I also have an issue with! It's OK to have the balls to take a shot, but also have the brains to know when it's best to not do it. And on the flip side, if both decisions succeed, he's a genius. But if they fail, he's an idiot.
  6. Yeah, that was a wimpish decision, but I'm forgiving him this time only because he overcame it to bring the team to within an onside kick of OT.
  7. That's what I'd like to know. Yes Hughes is good for an asinine penalty per game, but why was that head-butt not called?
  8. Orton is one of the worst on the run, and he wouldn't get an extra yard even if he did fight for it.
  9. Nice to know I'm not alone on this one
  10. I agree, Freddy's not done yet. He still has one more good year left in him.
  11. Orton is horrible on the run. I was surprised he made the yard at the 1 on the QB sneak
  12. He brought them back to within a successful onside kick of tying the game despite all that went wrong earlier. THAT'S what I'm referring to, overcoming things like that to give your team a chance at the end.
  13. Some QB's do take time to develop. They're not all going to be an Andrew Luck or Russell Wilson in their first few years. They're the exception NOT the rule. Let's see what happens in training camp next season.
  14. Archie and a few of his friends.
  15. I agree with you completely on that. They held the great Peyton without a TD pass, and got a couple picks - nuff said! Orton sukks on the run, but yes, he's a gamer. I will say this for him, when he's hot, he's very good. But when he's not, he sukks, swallows, and chokes on the footlong.
  16. Yeah, that call on Robey was clearly bogus. The PI on Gilmore was close but as always, those will go against the Bills.
  17. Disappointed but not surprised 1) Another respectable defensive performance. No TD passes for Peyton. Streak ended!!! 2) As usual, those F/N penalties, and Jerry Hughes is good for one asinine penalty per game 3) I'd have went with the veteran Carpenter for the onside kick 4) QB or OC, which one is holding the offense back the most? 5) Nice to see Goodwin back on the field. Too bad Orton couldn't connect with him deep. 6) Bad calls from officials nothing new. Good teams will usually overcome those. 7) Despite their shortcomings, this team has no quit in them. I like that. 8) Give Orton credit. He may not be that good, but he's a gamer. Unfortunately, that's not enough. 9) I ain't mad at em. Didn't expect them to upset the Broncos, and they didn't get blown out the building 10) Believe it or not, I like our chances for an upset over the Packers.
  18. If Schwartz leaves, then by all means bring in Rex as DC. So far, Marrone is 2 for 2 at bringing in good DC's
  19. I don't see a win in Denver (24-16 Broncos) But I can smell an upset here against the Packers (23-21 Bills)
  20. He'll keep Goodwin company on the sidelines recovering from constant injuries. What would be the point of bringing him here for that?
  21. He's got 1 good year left in him before retirement, and he'll retire as a Saint!
  22. Don't feel bad about it CR. They're headed in the right direction, they just have the same problem that we do. Good defense being held back by the offense.
  23. That's where Marrone as the Head Coach has to step in and demand that balance between run and pass (once we fix things at guard).
  24. He'd be a major upgrade over what we have now.
  25. Let's say Marc Trestman gets canned in Chicago. Would he even consider replacing Nate Hackett as OC? Would Marrone even consider replacing his buddy with an experienced coordinator? IMO, he'd be a major upgrade just on experience alone.
