  1. I'm so done with Hackett and some of his play calls
  2. 1) Can't get a win against a 2-12 team with a rookie QB to keep your slim playoff hopes alive, they don't deserve to be there! 2) Orton's done! Start EJ next week and let's see if he's learned anything. It doesn't matter now. 3) What a difference Dareus makes. 4) Running game? 5) O-Line? 6) Halftime adjustments? 7) 3rd and 1, challenge the O-line to man up and make that 1 yard happen like the Raiders did on that QB sneak. 8) Opponent has 3rd & forever, how many times have we seen it happen? 9) Will the Patriots play their 3rd stringers next week (I would if I were them)? 10) Well, 8-8 is a small step forward from the last few losing seasons. At least this group stayed in playoff contention up to week 16 so it's not like the season is a total loss. They're headed in the right direction and improving. Upgrade the O-Line and QB positions (I hope EJ & Hackett both learned something and will be better next year), and I can actually see this team in the playoffs next year. I'm still on the bandwagon win or lose, and I'll be cheering them on in New England GO BILLS!!!!!
  3. I agree with you on Chan. He always had a knack for getting as much as he could out of a mediocre QB. We'd be in the playoffs with him as OC.
  4. Give Hackett a better QB and upgraded OL to work with for year 3. If no improvement then, bye bye birdie. And if Marrone wants to go too, I'd be certain to keep Schwartz around as Plan B.
  5. I agree with him. If the offense scores 42 points, the playmakers get the credit. If they get shut out, then "the line didn't open holes for the runners" or "the line didn't protect well" in addition to "and the QB sucks" (well, ok, he has sucked lately). The linemen get noticed more for penalties, missed blocks, or just flattening somebody.
  6. Give him an upgraded O-line and an even stronger running game so he doesn't have to carry the team, I think it could work with Eli. The hell with Cutler.
  7. I don't know about you, but if we had a shot at either one, I'd take Eli in a heartbeat before even considering Cutler. He still has a few good years left in him.
  8. If we can get 3 good years from him and let EJ continue to learn from a future HOF QB, HELL YEAH!!! Too bad that's NOT going to happen. Nice thought though
  9. Year 3 will be a make it or break it year for Marrone & Hackett. I just hope Whaley continues to come across useful pickups and gets a couple good guards. QB will be a tough one, but a trade for an upgrade at the position is an option at the right price. Preferably a veteran with playoff experience who's won more than 60% of the games he's started.
  10. I would also suggest bringing in another veteran or two to compete as well, either by free agency or by trade. May the best man win the starting QB job (hopefully an improved EJ). All they have to do is provide an upgrade over what we have now while EJ continues to develop. I'd give EJ one more year to show us something, or draft another QB in 2016.
  11. Ain't happening. Bruce Arians will get it this year, but I do like Marrone as a candidate next year if we take the division and make the playoffs (if we get a better QB).
  12. "The Bills are legit, and Doug Marrone has done a fantastic job this year. Imagine if they had a quarterback ..." - Adam Schein NFL Media columnist.
  13. To an extent, yes the offense is more talented, but like you said, we're missing a quality QB, better guards, and a TE that can stretch the field deep. I have faith Whaley will fix most of it in the off season. Then the question will be how well can Hackett design the offense to get the most out of that talent once he has everything he needs to be successful? 2015 will be Marrone & Hackett's make it or break it year.
  14. Say what you want about Marrone, but the Bills are much better now (except at QB) than they were before he came here. That alone is enough for him to rightfully return next season and improve the offensive production. A better QB and upgraded O-Line will make this team a championship contender. For a second year head coach he's earned that much no matter what his critics think. As for Hackett, let's be fair about it. Look at the QB's he's had to work with. Orton's the best of the bunch? Really?? Seriously??? Let's see what he can do with an upgrade at that position.
  15. I'll go along with that for the sake of stability. He's be a worthy choice.
  16. Jim Schwartz is going to be high on the list of HC candidates once the firings begin. Who would you like to see take over? No doubt Rex Ryan will be high on a lot of teams list for a DC spot, but we really need stability there with this defense.
  17. Next training camp = open competition for the starting QB position. Draft one in the later rounds, and bring in another vet to compete with Orton & EJ, and may the best man win.
  18. Marrone will stay, but he's once again going to need a DC. Schwartz will be a head coach again next year.
  19. Yeah, if we only had a QB
  20. I agree with you. Our first non losing season in what, 10 years? And it was done with barely average QB play? Yeah Marrone deserves to come back next year!
  21. 1) Defense shut down 2 HOF QB's in back to back games. Can they do it Brady now? 2) Special teams have come a long way since last year 3) Thanks Jordy That was a huge drop. 4) I thought Gilmore's blown pick 6 was going to come back to haunt us. 5) Orton, EJ, what's the difference? Neither one is worth $%^! on a rotten log right now. 6) I think Thigpen has nailed down the return duties. 7) Rambo to the rescue 8) Like it or not, Marrone will rightfully remain as coach (he owes Jim Schwartz big time). 9) Can we run the table despite the QB situation? 10) Thank goodness for Dan Carpenter. How many times has he outscored the offense?
  22. QB position is just that bad. Hackett has nothing to work with there. That'll be Marrone's excuse to keep him.
  23. Definitely control time of possession with the running game. Keep Rodgers off the field as long as possible. Work the screen game even though our o-line really isn't as athletic as it needs to be. This will keep pass rush under control. Don't be afraid to take a couple shots deep down the field each qtr to keep the defense honest. I'd even throw in a jet sweep or two using both Watkins and Goodwin. Make the front 7 respect the draw plays to keep them up front long enough to hit a couple 15-20 yard strikes to Chandler down the middle of the field. NO TURNOVERS NO idiot penalties. Can't afford to have big plays negated or drives stalled. Jackson & Woods will be the key players to open things up for Watkins later on in the game. Go to them early and often.
  24. Yeah. If they think he can help them, of course they'll not only sign him, they'll actually use him.
