Do they have a stat for "timely passing yards"? Cuz I haven't seen one.

Kyle Orton on the Wall of Fame...yes or no?
PolishDave replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How long did he play for the Bills? That is a rhetorical question. And that alone excludes him from the wall. It would be an insult to the existing names on the wall. Why not give everyone a participation trophy? It would be more reasonable to put Taylor on there right now - rather than Orton. And putting Taylor there at this point would be insane. Be honest. Is this thread some kind of joke? Sure smells like it. -
Kyle Orton on the Wall of Fame...yes or no?

Good god no. A guy who didn't want to play football. Came out of retirement because of $$ Then quit again. God friggin no. -
Yes they did. I can vouch. They reverted back to halftime though at the Denver game.

If you did get in a fight with them and they got arrested, there is a really good chance they would be banned from re-entering the USA. Not that you need any more reasons to want to punch one in the Adams Apple. Most of those Canadian fans are awesome. Get a handful of old drinking buddies together down here for a game though and look out.

There were a number of Canadian Broncos fans there. Also, ran into a big section of fans from Denver area who flew out to Buffalo for the game. They were great fans. I welcomed them to Buffalo and said hope they have fun regardless of the outcome. They were all cool. Met a couple different couples who were military personnel from Denver area stationed at Fort Drum. They drove from Ft. Drum for the game. - Great people. They said it is hard to get to a Denver game even when you live there. All around - probably the best/classiest give and take with the opposing fans I have seen in a while. That game was a real pleasure. Even if the Bills lost, that would have been one of the more enjoyable "stadium" experiences I have ever had there. And I have been attending Bills home games every game for decades.

Adam Gase Tired of Dolphins' "Garbage" Offense

Closet tank. Another team in the running for a QB..... -
Dennison's offense is consistent
PolishDave replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent point. I make this point in games constantly. The Bills go conservative on offense right after turnovers rather than exploit an emotionally gut punched team. Go for the throat. Put your foot on their neck. Kick em. Finish them. -

That was a stud play by McCoy. He made 2 guys miss to make that play successful. An average back probably loses 2 yards on that play. Wish we would throw him the ball more often. Dawkins got away with a block in the back at the point of attack. Doh! Only 2 Bills players executed at a high level on that play - Zay Jones (key block) and McCoy. Amazing that a play with sloppy execution converted on 3rd and 9.

The highest ranked QB is Tom Brady at 76.5 But, since you asked: Tyrod is currently ranked a top 10 QB in the league based on QBR.

It was just the Broncos.

Tyrod Presser - Interesting insight to playcalling
PolishDave replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. That is the problem with expert armchair QB analysis. In reality, there is no such thing. Just guessing. -
Great game by Tyrod today against a very good defense. Led the beat down against Denver chucking the ball out of the gun. Congrats Tyrod!

PFF: Bills are 31st for time for Taylor to throw.
PolishDave replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes he has. It also helps immensely if you can design and execute a fast paced passing game where the QB gets rid of the ball in 2 seconds nearly every time. Like when we played them and had that great defense in 2014. Didn't matter. Brady killed us with quick passes - totally negating a superior pass rush. I hate giving the Patriots credit because I effin hate them. -

And when you find an absolutely excellent line coach - pay him big $$ not to leave. Wish Kromer was still here. Win the line of scrimmage. Win the game. -

And you would almost have to split it between pass plays where the defense brought a blitz and pass plays where the defense rushed 4 or less. Those kinds of detailed stats would be very telling. You would see which offensive lines are better than others instead of making a subjective guess based on what you think is normal and what isn't. Personally I think the Bills offensive line flat out SUCKS at pass protection. And it isn't just Mills and Miller. Let me rephrase that. The Bills offensive line is below average in pass protection in my opinion. And also in my opinion - the offensive line needs to be absolutely dominant if you expect your offense to be dominant. That is why I am a huge proponent of spending money on o-linemen. -

Yea. The stat you want is the Time to Sack. But even that gets skewed if the QB can escape pressure and run sideways a few yards before getting sacked. I would be interested in seeing a stat like "Time to pressure" that is measured only on plays where the QB is pressured and how long it takes for that pressure to arrive. That would be the most indicative of how severe a jailbreak pass rush was at the times when there was one. -

PolishDave replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not what you think it is dude. "Now to explain what ‘time to throw’ is, we record the time from when the ball is snapped to the point where the quarterback has either thrown a pass or can no longer throw a pass (has been sacked or has scrambled past the line of scrimmage)." Taken from the pff website. Basically that means he has the ball in his hands behind the line of scrimmage longer than most QB's. Ironically, a fast sack would improve the number. It is kind of a crap stat though. It is skewed when he runs out of the pocket but stays behind the line of scrimmage without being sacked, which is often. -
Bills Kicker speaks about inequality

Everything that happens is a necessary part of evolution. You just don't realize it because you don't know what the end result really looks like.
