I can't stand all the race talk B.S. Anybody can call me a Polak - I don't get offended. Some people do I guess for whatever reason. True to a point. But other coaches got a lot more out of him. Part of that is the coach's fault. You can argue against it, but you would be wrong based on logic alone. And I don't like the guy personally either. Glad he's gone. But that doesn't justify a bad business decision. And that is what this is by the looks of it. Beane likes to drive luxury cars for a couple years and then just dump them at the junkyard once he is tired of them I guess - rather than actually selling them for their market value. Talent wise alone he starts for every team in the NFL right now except maybe one or two at the most. Can't dispute his talent level.

This is where I am at too. Insane to get rid of that caliber of player for a 6th round pick. Bills traded a proven starter who has had Probowl years for essentially a joke. Simply not enough. That is not how you build a team and invest in your future. If Dareus wasn't playing up to his potential, at least part of that blame has to be on the coaches. It's not like Dareus is horrible. He would start for every single NFL team there is right now. Every single one. How in the world is that only worth a 6th round pick? Another mistake by Beane in my opinion. If the Bills pass rush and run defense gets worse now - expect the blame to fall where it is due - squarely on Beane.

We will be lucky to get 3 NFL caliber starters in the draft. I doubt one is going to be a receiver either. I am thinking 2 actual starters = QB, DT Then one borderline NFL starter CB and some chumps that never start more than 2 or 3 regular season NFL games

Also, recall a game from earlier this season where a Bill defender (can't remember who) returned a fumble for a touchdown while the offense stood around thinking maybe it wasn't a fumble. Yet no refs blew the whistle. End result was extra 6 points for Buffalo. When asked about it - they commented how turnovers are a huge focus in practice. This player said they just did what cam naturally by scooping and returning the ball because it has been drilled into them in practice with McDermott as the head coach.

Yes. Teams can actually be coached and built so that they are predisposed to committing less of them and causing more of them. How many times is a ball carrier allowed to fumble in New England before he is sent packing? How is it that Trey White doesn't deserve full credit for causing and recovering the fumble late in the last game. That wasn't an accident or pure luck. A little lucky perhaps, but coaching and intention above and beyond anything else.

I think they are walking softly knowing full well that the media is just dripping at the chops to turn this into an even bigger steaming pile of clickbait than it already is. You know national media outlets can't wait to run headlines pumping up the politics and somehow making it a race issue of rich white men (a.k.a. Donald Trump and NFL owners) vs. the oppressed struggling peasants at the bottom of societies echelon having their civil rights trampled on. Only in America baby - where the average person is so unbelievably spoiled compared to most of humanity and don't realize how truly great life is here compared to most of the rest of the world.

I was re-posting what I heard here on this forum. So it is entirely possible that it was complete B.S. And if that is the case, then my opinion of McDermott just went down a notch.

Players would lose. NFL is just trying to be PC and not offend anyone - not realizing that, as Geddy Lee puts it "if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."
