New menu choices at the Cap
PolishDave replied to Buffalo Destroyers!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would eat there every Sunday if they cut the prices in half for the food. I get the idea of paying a premium in a sports arena. But, at the prices they charge, I rarely get anything. Bad enough its $9 for a beer. I wonder if that will be an even $10 this year? The only food I have ever had there that I would call excellent, is the Buffalo Wing Mac and Cheese. That stuff is wicked good when you are all beer'd up in the second half of the game. The rest of the food that I have had there is meh.. -
TNF: Panthers at Broncos - 8:30 PM ET on NBC
PolishDave replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. Probably... But who cares...Denver still won the game that matters. I'm still savoring that one. Usually the team I want to win the Superbowl loses. So I am still on a high. -
Week 1 Predictions: Bills at Ravens
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you mean that the other way around. Don't you? You mean you would trade Rex for Harbaugh? or did you really mean you would trade Harbaugh for Rex? -
seantrel Henderson facing 4 game suspension
PolishDave replied to Don't stop billievein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I find it utterly hilarious that these well paid employees can't lay off the weed when it is essential to their employment. Personally, I think it says a lot about their personal character. The league should start kicking players out on their second offense for illegal drug use. First offense should be a full year suspension without pay. The penalty isn't stiff enough. Hitting the weed is a choice. The guy makes a conscious decision to smoke it or not every single time. If he can't control his urge to hit the pipe, then he can kiss his NFL career goodbye as far as I am concerned. Let those players go back to working outside of professional sports. They will soon find out that all mid size or larger companies have the same restrictions on drug use. Fecking losers. -
Week 1 Predictions: Bills at Ravens
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ravens 22-19 overtime win. Just to throw a guess out there. Honestly I have no flippin idea what to predict in this game. So many question marks. Ravens are home. So I give them the advantage. -
What is the biggest question mark going into Game One
PolishDave replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many big running plays will the Bills' defense give up - especially late in the game? and - Will they be effective at stopping the run at all or will they give up 4-5 yards/carry on average? -
I'm thinking they already had their minds made up about ditching Lawson coming into this season. Rex played him a lot hoping he would shine so they might get an offer for him. In other words, they were shopping him. Just a theory. I really doubt the decision was made after the last preseason game. Lawson made tackles and QB pressures. He looked like the best linebacker out there in that preseason game as he should have. For a stretch there during the game I remember thinking - geez - Manny keeps making plays. And I remember seeing him in there late in the game thinking - what are you doing playing this guy this late in the game if he is a starter? - Answer - He was never going to start. He was going to be gone regardless of how he played in that game.

Didn't the Bills starting defense look awesome in preseason last year too though? I seem to recall that the Bills starting D - especially that D line looked like they were going to crush opponents. Right up to the start of the season people were claiming that this was going to be one of the best Bills defenses in team history. I think one of those dodo's from GR was calling it the best defense in the NFL. Then the real season started and the Bills defense looked more average than anything. I would take all the preseason play with a grain of salt. The Bills D as a whole was nothing impressive last year. They remain that until proven otherwise on gameday.

Preseason Game 4: Bills at Lions - 9/1 at 7:30 PM

Rex after game press conference = "Who is number 50? He played pretty good." "He's only been here like 6 hours, but he played well." -

I wonder how much O'leary can drink? Do you suppose he can put the booze away like a good drunken Irishman? -

I agree 3rd is not enough alone. But if you got a starter offensive lineman, that was a significant upgrade over what we have now, sure....why not... -

I would trade him for 2 second round picks. Face it. If Tyrod gets hurt, the Bills are screwed regardless of who the backup QB is. -

Looks like an allstar against this Bills D. Running and chucking effectively. Surprisingly good scrambling skills. -

Its hard to believe a game could suck this much to watch....even in preseason. -
Cardale Jones = Thad Lewis with a stronger arm.

Patriots miss the playoffs causing disgruntled marriage = Giselle files for divorce = Tabloids say Brady is questioning his sexuality. Rumors about 3 way between Brady, Gronk and the ball boy.

I think this team is either going to win or lose based mostly on the play of Tyrod Taylor. He will be the difference maker in most of the games. If he plays substantially better than last year, then the Bills have a shot at the division and the playoffs. If he plays the same as last year, the Bills lose the division and miss the playoffs yet again. In my opinion, there is more weight on his shoulders than any other single player or position.... And the supporting cast will have to play well enough to give Tyrod a chance to shine. If the Bills don't have an above average rushing attack (measured in average yards per carry), then I don't think Tyrod will have enough chances to shine. Or, if the Bills' defense can't stop the run at all, then how well Tyrod plays will be less of a factor anyway. And of course the season rarely plays out exactly as you predict. So you have to wonder where the anomalies will be this year?

Kaepernick and the National Anthem
PolishDave replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Funny how this dirt-bag is whining about African Americans being oppressed when the vast majority of players in the NFL are African Americans earning more than 10x what the average American earns. He needs a bit of a reality check. I say - Send the bastard to Afghanistan without a parachute. See how he gets treated there. -

Next time you see a video that elicits a strong emotional reaction (as this video has done for a lot of people who watched it) consider what the intent might have been for the person who produced the content. If you think it was some kind of attempt to make the world a better place or to bring light to a subject that needs to be talked about, think again. Their intent is to manipulate you emotionally and they succeeded. I'm not suggesting that the things that were said in that video were acceptable things to say to someone (other than a very close buddy you are kidding around with). I am merely suggesting that the people who produce videos like this are the same people who produce daytime television crap shows (like all those talk shows about how effed up people are). And I am suggesting that the intent of the person producing that content is almost always selfish and self serving and not noble at all. They are pushing your emotional buttons to serve their own purposes just like the 6 o'clock news people often do. Consider yourself manipulated by a con artist. Because that is exactly what just happened. -
I expect the Bills to be VERY active in the draft.
PolishDave replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What does that even mean? - "Active in the draft" You mean they will be jumping up and down in the room waiting for their chance to draft a guy? Or perhaps pacing back and forth from the coffee machine to the table to the coffee machine, etc. Isn't every team active in the draft? Do some of them sleep through it? I expect to be active at work today. I expect to be active on this forum for another five minutes. -

good news on the ralph..
PolishDave replied to dwight in philly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is how I feel too. I think the Ralph is just right in all honesty. No need for any more bells or whistles. I couldn't give less of a hoot how it compares to other stadiums. It suits my needs and the needs of the group I go to games with just fine. Keep spending under control. Keep taxpayers out of it as much as possible. They are taxed enough for Chr*st's Sake. Long live Ralph Wilson Stadium. -

Stud post! Coaching didn't lose jack today.......EJ did. You can't always force a college level QB to play good NFL football. Sometimes college boy just plain sucks, a lot like EJ. IF the whole team was healthy today, we easily steamroll that piece of crap Jags team. It would have been a blowout.
