I cant believe im backing him but...
PolishDave replied to re enlightener's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't call you out on the second one because I didn't see an issue with it. Like I said, if you want to make a point - at least make the effort to choose a play that actually makes that point. The one you brought up sure as hell didn't. That's all. Can't just admit it was a poor example and move on huh? Okay. No prob. I get it. enough said. -

Let me just say this....if someone has to explain to you why Tyrod doesn't throw that ball to the slant receiver, then ....well whatever... At least pick a good example of Tyrod screwing up. That one is not even close to a good example. If you want to argue it is, you are just seeing whatever you want to see without being objective.... There are way better plays to choose from to make a point on. Complete lack of objectivity on display. -
Can't we make this about Tyrod somehow? Like it is a last ditch effort to save Tyrod's career in Buffalo because half the fans have already turned on him? You're welcome.

Den D.C. Wade Phillips injured on sideline

I'm sorry that video looked hilarious. Not sensitive, I know, but damn funny. Hope he is okay. -
Hey...you gave Utica credit for my wicked awesome idea.....for shame.. The idea is Duke may cover those middle field passes better than Preston Brown. Preston usually has a bad day against New England. Maybe Duke would do even worse? Trying to think of ways to disrupt the normally dominating play of the Patriots offense. I hope Preston has a big game today. If not, Bills go down in flames yet again.

Now we know why Hogan's offer sheet wasn't matched

How many different places around WNY have you had wings though dude? Couldn't have been that many if you think that Anchor Bar's are the best. Or maybe we just have way different ideas of what a wing is supposed to be like? In my experience, just about any local corner tavern that offers wings, makes them at least as good as anchor bar's. Usually better. -
You might be right about Barbarian. But he is right about EJ. Dude is very slow to get going in games. Don't you guys remember how when he was starting it was normal for the Bills to be very ineffective in the first half and then suddenly find some mojo sometime in the second half? If EJ was a better first half guy, he would probably be the starter for the Buffalo Bills right now and the Bills would have never brought in Tyrod. Actually, its kind of humorous that there is an EJ thread anymore at all. He is completely irrelevant to the Bills unless there is an injury.

Never had Gabriels Gate wings. Gotta try em. As far as Anchor Bar goes - I feel like they are very much over-rated. To me they are not even a little above average. Truly just average. I prefer the wings at Buffalo Wild Wings over Anchor Bar in all honesty. I like Duffs - but have only had the ones from Duffs in Orchard Park/West Seneca whateverthehellthatisthere. I have had Barbills in the past - They were fantastic. I avoid East Aurora now though as the last couple times I was through there the congestion was ridiculous. I was hoping people would be throwing out the names of little corner taverns who have awesome wings so I would have an excuse to do a pub tour. -
Well he did only have 2 sacks the entire season last year. So....yeah... chances are people would cheer if he got 2 in one game. That would be his best game in quite a while.

Another crazy idea - Bring in Duke Williams and have him play MLB in place of Preston Brown. I like Preston Brown but I think he normally gets torched against those middle passes that the Patriots like to throw. Let Lorenzo or Zach Brown make the D calls on the field. And have Duke play aggressive and really attack the ball in the passing game. He also might make a better/faster "A" gap blitzer than Preston Brown. No idea if Duke would understand Preston's position well enough to be able to play it for a game though - probably not. I know it will never happen. Just a crazy idea. Trying to throw things against the wall to see what sticks when playing against the Patriots. -
Yes they are. ------ On another note-- How does Gus Bradley still have a job? 14 wins over 4 seasons. Good god man. That is just baaaaaaad. Okay.. 4th season still in progress. 12 wins over 3 seasons. Yikes!

Love it! You gotta give specifics or else your vote doesn't count. It is not useful information to just say anywhere else. C'mon man. -
look at those jag colors. What do they call that? Barf? Are the Jags ruining Bortles? I thought he was better than this?

Bring your passport and hit up the Gentlemen's clubs in Niagara Falls Canada. World class talent there. Underappreciated gems in the greater region. If you're into that sort of thing.

Its approaching chow time and you just inspired me to go to Duffs for wings tonight. Someone at Duffs owes you a beer. Next time you are in town, stop there and show them this thread on your phone. Demand they give you a free beer dammit! -
Lets clear up some minsconceptions about this offense
PolishDave replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt. For the record, not than anyone cares anyway - just sayin - I would much rather prefer a pure pocket passer and a pass happy offense because it is much more exciting to watch. The Bills of the 90s were good because they could score in a matter of seconds. So even when there was five minutes left in the game and you needed 2 scores you still weren't out of it. With this Bills team, you are done in those situations. I blame it more on Rex and his style of football though. And I can't change the fact that Rex is coaching my team. So for the time being I choose to buy into his philosophy and hope he can get us to the big dance using his old school strategy. And I believe it can be done and actually might be done if this fecking team could stay healthy and not have its best players do dumb **** like getting suspended for 1/4 of the season. And I even think (as crazy as it sounds) that this passing inferior QB is "good enough" to get it done in Rex's system. I think he is literally the ideal QB for a Rex style team. If we had the best offensive line in football (which I want but I know I will never get) then this team, with the skill players on it could compete for a championship. This team will only go places if its running game is dominant and the defense plays good enough. I don't know if it will get there in the next year or so. Very unlikely. Here is to hoping. -

You are right about that, however, don't forget Rex is a protect-the-ball, run first guy. A Lynn is a ground and pound guy. So don't you think that makes it a little unfair to compare that directly against an NFL full of pass happy offenses? According to ESPN he is not that bad. Not elite. But definitely better than many starters. -

So the fact that the Bills defense couldn't stop Miami's run game most of the day has nothing to do with the 37 minute time of possession Miami had in that game apparently? According to Bobby it is simply due to the 3 and outs in the Bills second half. Just because of those 3 and outs, the Bills "offense" not "defense" gave up the game winning points. Gotcha? I guess you are right about that. I can't believe I ever called it into question. Forgive me. The 3 and outs were a factor in the game, not the majority factor though. If you can't see that, then there is no hope for you..... -

All the time huh? A bit of an exaggeration because of your agenda perhaps? Yep. I think so. Yes time of possession does influence how hard it is on the other side of the ball. Nobody with any common sense is going to dispute that. But it isn't the majority factor in that loss to Miami. Sorry. It's just not.
