Josh Brown DV case getting ugly (update - Released)
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't understand the fans' love affair with family issues that happen with players outside of their NFL life. What a world we live in.... -
Reggie Bush Taking WR Reps in Bills' Practice
PolishDave replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In other words, he sucks now. Based on his limited play and very poor production so far, I am in the camp that he sucks until he proves otherwise. But maybe he will be better at receiver than he has been at RB. -
Column: "Pats have clear road to Super Bowl"
PolishDave replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
DC's already know how to stop it. They just don't usually have enough of the ideal type of players they need to stop it. These last few games there have been many plays where the Bills offensive line has imposed its will on the defense in the running game. They should be able to do that against Miami too (hopefully). Patriots should be more difficult than San Fran or Miami, but not as tough as Baltimore was. And Seattle will probably be very tough to run against. -
Why do you blame Tyrod for not doing what a pure pocket passing quarterback would do when you know Tyrod Taylor is not a traditional pocket passing quarterback? His strength is not standing in the pocket picking apart secondaries with precise throws. His skill is moving around in the backfield avoiding sacks while enough time elapses for a receiver to get great separation. His skill is also recognizing when he has a chance to make a big play with his legs and then also making that big play which he has done many times. Those things completely frustrate the defense because the defenders know they can't cover receivers for that long and they also know it is really hard to defend against a quarterback with the running skills Tyrod has. You need to give up on wishing that Tyrod would fit your mold of a pure pocket passer. That isn't how he is built. That isn't how he wins games.

"The Fro" has been known to have big games from time to time where he pulls one out of his ass. That is the hope that 49er fans are hoping for today. And they know it could happen against the Bills. I really doubt there are many San Fran fans who think "The Fro" is going to take them to a Superbowl. The Bills should run the ball well today. As long as they do that and don't turn the ball over, then the Bills should win. I've got a bad feeling about turnovers today for some reason.

Is Chad Kelly not Jim Kelly incarnate?
PolishDave replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He certainly does have legs. I'll give him that. I just don't think he shows much poise in the pocket. Panics immediately under pressure. Seems most of his passing plays are scripted - meaning he will immediately throw to one guy after the snap without making any reads. He is definitely talented. I just don't think it is NFL starter level talent. Maybe he will get there. I don't think he shows it right now though. Looking at him now, if he was in the NFL I would predict he would lead the league in interceptions and get his team beat badly more often than not. -
You are absolutely right. But Americans have it so good here, even the poorest ones and even the ones who claim they are so often discriminated against, that they eat all that media crap up and suddenly it becomes an issue. So very few people in this country realize how they are being manipulated by the media and even more so by politicians. It is sad. And it isn't going to change anytime soon. In fact, it is apparent that the scumbags doing the manipulation have gotten better at it over time. I love my country, yet I pity it for its mass stupidity. Kap is an example of someone who has fallen for the manipulation. And now he is using his status to spread the manipulation to even more people. And he is too stupid to even realize what he is doing. Americans truly are spoiled.

Is Chad Kelly not Jim Kelly incarnate?
PolishDave replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching Chad Kelly play tonight makes me think he is nowhere near ready and probably not good enough to be an NFL quarterback. I really don't get what people see in him that is so impressive. Looks like he is over-hyped just because of his last name. Just my opinion. -
Nah...that would be an example of over-regulation....ya know...like the government likes to do from time to time in certain areas... They get fined. They could get suspended in the right circumstances. Good enough as far as I am concerned.

Maybe so guys, but as far as disrespect goes - isn't that what Shady is already doing by getting seats for some police officers for this game? How many other games does he go get seats for cops? Funny timing. Don't ya think? And, if a player thinks that throwing a salute or chanting USA or saying something else perhaps to Kaepernick is going to help get Kaepernick to make more mistakes or unravel his game, I can see then doing it.

Yes the fact that the passes tend to be short ones also contributes to the feel that the Bills are a run heavy team. The part they need to "get together" in the passing game is calling more deep routes and throwing the ball to the deep route and executing those plays. Last game they tried it one time and didn't execute. That is not enough attempts in my opinion, even when you are winning a game. If you want to be a dominant NFL team, you need to take more of those shots and learn how to execute them. Until the Bills learn how to do that is display it week to week, they will not be a dominant team in the NFL. I really wish they would get that part of the game working. I question how much emphasis they even put on it though. Run the ball to setup the deep throw. The Bills are running well. Where were the deep throws last game? One and done. I would like to see them attempt it more often.

They would mostly be ignored. Some people might mumble words to each other. Maybe someone throws a shout out to poke them. Mostly they will be ignored. Depends on which section of the stadium they are in. However, if they got up and went in the aisle and took a knee like "the Fro" does, then some fans will probably throw beers at them, yell obscenities and try to provoke one of them into a fight. And that is because most of the stadium is filled with adult males who have had a few drinks and are much more emotionally aggressive in that state due to the beer muscles effect. It would be like walking into a busy country tavern on a Friday night at midnight and talking politics loudly and passionately. You would be likely to get your ass kicked or at least have someone attempt to do it. I hope that when one of the Bills' blitzers sack "The Fro" that they stand up and salute the flag for 6-8 seconds instead of their normal celebration. They could also turn to "The Fro" and chant U.S.A - U.S.A a couple times. That would get inside the quarterback's head and mentally kick him while he is already down which could help the Bills get him completely unraveled. Plus, if one of those D-lineman does the salute to the flag, that guy will be memorialized in Bills fan memories just like Chandler was when he did the "shoveling snow" move at that Detroit game. If I was an agent representing one of those guys, I would be on the phone planting that idea in his head.

Anyone who honestly thinks either of the next two games are gimme's should do a reality check. It's not like the Buffalo Bills are a dominant team. How many blowouts have the Bills laid down on other teams in the last 2 years? The Bills could easily lose both of those games just as they could possibly win them both. If the running game goes to hell in either of these games for any reason, you can bet that the Bills will probably get beat. Heck, in the Rams game, if Robey doesn't make that first interception and turn the momentum around in the Bills' favor late in the game, it is really likely that the Bills would have lost that game. Up until then, the Bills were on a downward spiral. So even beating the Rams was a huge accomplishment for them. These games are coin flips until proven otherwise.

How to stop the 49ers - foolproof method
PolishDave replied to Norwood for Wall of Fame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Betcha there is at least one more of these started sometime between now and Sunday. -
Some people (even some Americans) think Hitler was a cool dude. Some people (Iranians mostly) think the holocaust never happened. Some people liked Saddam Hussein so much that they elected an American president who shared the same name Hussein. I don't support any of these ideas. I just wanted to throw them out there into this thread to attempt to further fuel the flames that are already cranking around here. Keep it up. I am enjoying the laughs. Only in America baby! On a side note.....why is it you only really see men arguing about politics and rarely ever see women publicly arguing about it?

He is a power back. And last season he proved to be a beast to tackle. If he could play with the same zest as last year, even with his added weight, he would be an asset to this team and would score touchdowns for this team. Having said all that, I think it is time the Bills organization started taking personal character into consideration when signing players. So I say kick him to the curb and let him stay there.

Dareus says he got treatment for ADHD; no rehab
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills are responding the way they are to Dareus because they are between a rock and a hard place with him. They come out all rosy and empathetic because it looks better than admitting they are just plain screwed with him financially. Calling him one of the best players to ever play the game of football in the NFL? I wouldn't go that far. -
Dareus says he got treatment for ADHD; no rehab
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first two would definitely have an impact on his character. The other two - not so much. Regardless, it is still up to him to overcome the negative circumstances in life just as it is up to you and me to do the same. Every single person who fails at something in life can come up with more than one excuse for why they failed. The guys who don't fail are the ones who don't lean on the excuses and just get it done. I don't know where you work or how much money you make, but, if your employer offered you tens of millions of dollars per year and a requirement of keeping that job was to not do any drugs, would you do any drugs?
