  1. No professional player worth their salt would let anything any fan says impact their performance. If a single Bills player is impacted at all by anything any fan or media member says about them I want them off the team today because they are too mentally weak to be of value.
  2. He's VERY fast, but I wouldn't say he is very talented. Being fast sure helps at WR, but (as others have already mentioned in this thread) he needs to show he has the other skills necessary to be a viable NFL WR.
  3. Yup, good calls. Start of the regular season is often the effective deadline for completing a new deal in cases like Gilmore's. His agent has been looking for the best deal for him so I've expected negotiations to go up to the last minute.
  4. I have brought up the same issues with the receiver corps. It's why I wanted them to draft a WR early. Watkins can be a special WR, Woods is a serviceable #2 (although I'd rather have a speedster there to help draw coverage away from Watkins) and then there's not much. The hope is that a speedster can help. The TE corps after Clay is just JAGs. Watkins, Shady, Clay and Tyrod are all going to have to play at a high level and stay relatively healthy. Some other guys are going to have to step up and take advantage of the attention the afore mentioned players get from defenses.
  5. The vertical game is what their passing offense is all about. That said, I don't see too much that scares me on the Ravens,
  6. It really does.
  7. I don't agree with the rule, but it is what it is. A four game suspension means this is at least his third failed test. That's why the Crohn's disease defense is not credible. He's been in the drug program since the first failed test and knows the deal with what he can and can't do.
  8. Big market down there in Miami.
  9. They know Cleveland has their 1st round pick, right?
  10. The Cheatriots are lined up to have a crap ton of cap space next season. Makes me think something is up with so many expiring contracts. I wonder if there will be some very notable retirements after the season?
  11. A pro style system and making line calls/audibles is a big plus and does help prepare a QB for the NFL. I agree with that. But there's so much Wentz needs to work on before he starts an NFL game. He has the physical attributes you look for in a QB an he looked great from the pocket and on first reads in college, but his knocks were that he was slow to process, had accuracy issues past 20 yards and couldn't find receivers once he was moved from the pocket. He was usually late on his second read and never got to his third even when the first two were covered. I was really impressed with Philly when the said they'd sit him his whole first season. That was the right move for Wentz. But I guess the Iggles gotta Iggles, as they say. Starting him from game 1 is going to put Philly into contention for the worst team in the league this season.
  12. @Baltimore - W Jets - W Arizona - L @New England - W @Los Angeles - W San Francisco - W @Miami - W New England - L @Seattle - L @Cincinnati - L Jacksonville - L @Oakland - L Pittsburgh - L Cleveland - W Miami - W @Jets - W 9-7. A strong start could put emotions high and, if the team is rolling, healthy and playing loose, one or two of those losses could become wins. That'd mean playoffs. That's the best case scenario. The worst case is the season is derailed by injury or some early losses in winnable games before hitting what looks to be a tough stretch. It can go either way and you gotta play the games. Excited to see what the season has in store,
  13. 10 wins can often get a team in. 11 pretty much guarantees it though. We'd have a shot with 4-2 and 6-4. 4-2 and 7-3 is asking a lot, but you never know. It's possible.
  14. Honestly, this is a reasonable way to look at things. A win against the Cheatriots sans Brady in week 4 is a real possibility. I think the Jest are in real trouble with their current offenseive line. They had trouble matching up against our defensive line last season, which created problems for FItz and was a huge part of the reason we beat them twice. This year we should have more of an advantage so two wins is certainly possible. The Phish have some real talent, but they also some holes and still have Tanny at QB. We beat them twice last year and it's a real possibility to do it again this season. 5-1 in the division would be huge and would go a long way in getting us to the playoffs. We gotta go 4-2 at worst.
  15. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/marcell-dareus-7718/ One of the main points I think the article should've delved into is the amount of guaranteed and front loaded money in the large contracts Whaley has signed players to. Players like Dareus can screw up, but they can't be cut for years due to their dead money. It's definitely a risky strategy and while I won't say it's definitely a bad move - at least not in every case - it's certainly something that's worth debating.
  16. The article asks whether or not the large contracts recently given several players will be money well spent - which is a fair question - but then it goes on to list a bunch of failed guys who have nothing to do with them. Pretty pointless exercise IMO. Attempting to answer the original question would've required researching those players and their contracts.
  17. There's nothing official out there about offsets except that they were a sticking point during contract negotiations. He was the second last player of that draft to sign. I wouldn't be surprised if there were offsets, but some team would have to sign him. If you've seen him play, you wouldn't assume that was a given. He's horrific.
  18. That's a lot to ask. I'd throw in Glenn staying healthy for 16 games, too.
  19. That link states that his entire contract is fully guaranteed, including that roster bonus.
  20. In general I don't have a problem with a team throwing a late round pick at the Browns for a low chance/high return 1st round bust, but they are taking on guaranteed contracts. In these specific cases Mingo at least has a chance to be a productive pass rush specialist, but Gilbert has no hope of being productive in the NFL - and he's got two guaranteed years left on his deal.
  21. Cleveland never explored a trade. They just fielded calls. His contract is up after this season, but he'll be a restricted FA. Expect a 1st round tender.
  22. Excellent question. How does such an epic bust get a gig like that. Maybe his frat boy douche personality?
  23. You're serious? Practice is overrated? Even for rookies? Seriously? That's ridiculous. I caught a bit of Movin' the Chains on my way home from work and they were discussing Bosa and how much he was going to be hurt by missing training camp and so much of the preseason. They thought his missed time likely would be a big hindrance due to the big jump from college to the pros. He's right. Lawson may be able to contribute late this season, but expecting much more than that is not at all realistic.
